I literally installed 2 full games on steam in the time it took me to mess around in the forums looking for that rubbish missions code.

I don't plan on playing ships half as much as i normally do. It's too much of a mess around. Grinding ships, searching forums for really bad missions, lying WG employee's.

I need premium time in a few days and doubloons but i don't even think i'm going to bother atm, i want to see how this develops...

I liked the read on the portal and the comments at the bottom were good some fun and some interesting oh and a few trolls lol but you didn't need to sign in Just to read them ........ which made it easy to read when out and on your Phone ..... now I cant do that and it has all lost it for me .

it would be cool if we could just have a direct link to the article we are reading and Not have to Sign in . ok we cant comment but its a still good read and informative .

The current implementation of using forum to comment on news articles is garbage. (1 on a scale of any quantification where 1 means worst)

I have two reasons to state this:

1. The technology exists for more than 10-15 years to integrate forum commenting to news portals in such way that the forum comments are directly visible and accessible right below the news article (on the same webpage in a frame). There are various versions of this depending on the company if they allow write or only read, they show only partial comments (i.e. most recent 50, best rated 50, etc)

None of this is available for us in 2018. As Donald Trump would say: "You are fired"

2. and to add injury to insult (or vica versa) the link at the bottom of the portal news article does not put you right into the proper forum topic but rather into the rood of the forum section so you have to manually find the topic related to the article you are coming form. This is pure lazyness and careless development. As Donald Trump would say: "You are fired"

I can't think of anything else just that Waragaming wants to get rid of comments related to news articles because they do not like the criticism.

VERY BAD COMMUNICATION CORPORATE STRATEGY.

I just read or wrote in the news. I have always gone from the forum to not being very interesting for me. Now that I will spend olympically of the forum and the news. That you go well with censorship.

I'm uneasy about this change.  I think it will result in fewer comments being made or read.   Although sometimes an outlet for expressing views,  I am doubtful that comments influence matters in any event.

Please can I ask, is the intention that the 'discuss on forum' links go directly to an associated thread or simply to the forum index?

This like politics is, is not really the reason behind but how it does look like. Even there are technological reason's behind it, it still gives impression of censorship. We all who have been long enough playing this game and have read and followed forum even not posting as much as some do know how forums work and that there are no free speech really as there are few topics that immediately are removed concerning certain aspects of this game ( I won't poke more about it just refering), I just told what i think without poking it too much. I still like this game way too much wanting to danger my fleet of premium ships. Still I am just saying it does look like Bad communications and censorship. Instead working on problem, trying to hide it. Considering WG's track record in WoT about these things and Christmas Convoy Fiasco in Eu-server I still have my reasons to doubt this decision... but Meh...  I like this game still very much and I thank the team for giving us this game and trying to improve it.

Why was the Halloween thread closed so soon? The whole scenario still has quite a way to go.

Hey!

Good point, I'll re-open it - after the first weeks we've decided to change the default time for closing a topic to 14d, that should be enough for most topics except for big ones like the CV rework, where we'll adjust it manually to longer periods.

Yes, it is intended to lead to the section so you can see more news and discover the topics around them on the forums.

This:

https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/videos/how-it-works-10/

was uploaded at least an hour ago.

Comments section would have been there from the 1st second.

Meanwhile the "comments thread"..... yeah, probably will pop up "within the next 3 days", sure as hell it's not up at the time of me writing this. Just another reason to stop this ridiculous "experiment" and go back  to actual comments in those articles :fish_palm:

Edit: 7h and counting, no comments yet. 10/10 change, rather obviously increased visibility

Edit2: 23h and counting, was my "3 days" prediction really that accurate?

The November Combat Missions article is dated "11/08/2018". Presuming that means 2018-11-08 and not 2018-08-11 (hurry up and fix the date format on the English-language portal), it has only been 4 full days since the article was posted, yet the comment thread has already been closed.
