Ectar, the credits not being unified is logical, but are there plans to do so with free XP (if needed with a correlation factor that prevents people from stockpiling in one game, and use that XP to bypass in the other game without any effort)?

Unified free exp and gold are planned, just like how it works with World of Tanks and World of Warships. It's planned for what is deemed as "release".

I always thought WOT and WOWP were in a perpetual open beta status, more akin to a release as real world money has been paid and there isn't a wipe planned.  I assumed that, that status (ie release even if its technically classed as an open beta) applies to WOWs.

Calling it an open beta is in name only.  It is a released product that is going to continually be added too (the occasional removal) and rebalanced as it progresses.

I would guesstimate "out of OBT".

And I would estimate this to be as "soon™" as possible.

So maybe something between now and a few million years.

The complete uselessness and utter redundancy of your input coupled with the remarkable insight you have demonstrated reminded me of:

You do not get the most obvious sarcasm do you?

Your question about "defining release" will not get answered straight. Release is, when WG thinks, it is time for unified gold/freeXP... as simple and as unsatisfying as that.

You like answering yourself?

Also what did you expected, WG to storm at you and say "yeah it's in a year from now!" ... and after that year it still isn't.

"OMFG WHAT THE **** NO RELEASE, YOU PROMISED IT!"

Sometimes I think the saying "there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers" is complete [edited].

As Nethraniel said, learn about sarcasm before you insult others.

Be nice to him Nethraniel, he doesn't know WoT and SerB's 'when it's done, it's done' :P

Define "release" please.

As far away as possible so that people have to buy gold for this game separately if they want to spend any.

Guess it's a safety mechanic because they still have the massive steaming pile of mud in mind that was World of Warplanes.

Woah, that's a tough one but I'll do my best. It terms of our game, it will generally be when we do a big portal announcement to say the game has moved out of open beta. I don't have a timescale I can quote for that.

In case I'm wrong, here is the definition of "release".  Never let it be said I don't do my best to answer questions.

verb
verb: release; 3rd person present: releases; past tense: released; past participle: released; gerund or present participle: releasing
1.
allow or enable to escape from confinement; set free.
"the government announced that the prisoners would be released"
synonyms:    free, set free, let go, allow to leave, set/let/turn loose, let out, liberate, set at liberty, deliver, rescue, ransom, emancipate; More
antonyms:    imprison, tie up
2.
allow (something) to move, act, or flow freely.
"she released his arm and pushed him aside"
remove restrictions or obligations from (someone or something) so that they become available for other activity.
"the strategy would release forces for service in other areas"
synonyms:    make available, free, free up; More
antonyms:    detain
remove (part of a machine or appliance) from a fixed position, allowing something else to move or function.
"he released the handbrake"
allow (something) to return to its resting position by ceasing to put pressure on it.
"press the cap down and release"
3.
allow (information) to be generally available.
"no details about the talks were released"
synonyms:    make public, make known, bring to public notice/attention, issue, break, announce, declare, report, post, reveal, divulge, disclose, publish, publicize, print, broadcast, air, transmit, put out, circulate, communicate, impart, disseminate, distribute, spread, propagate, purvey
"police released news of his arrest yesterday"
antonyms:    suppress, withhold
make (a film, recording, or other product) available to the public.
"they released a flurry of great singles"
synonyms:    launch, put on the market, market, put on sale, offer for sale, bring out, unveil, present, make available, distribute
"another series has just been released on videocassette"
4.
LAW
remit or discharge (a debt).
"the amounts which later become due are consequent on the debt that is being released"
synonyms:    let off, excuse, exempt, discharge, deliver; More
antonyms:    hold someone to
surrender (a right).
"a parent released and assigned a right to income"
make over (property or money) to another.
"compensation for the cost of rebuilding is only released when work begins"

noun
noun: release
1.
the action or process of releasing or being released.
"a campaign by the prisoner's mother resulted in his release"
synonyms:    freeing, liberation, deliverance, ransom, emancipation; More
a handle or catch that releases part of a mechanism.

plural noun: releases
2.
the action of making a film, recording, or other product available to the public.
"the movie will be on release from Christmas"
a film or other product made available to the public.

Ectar, I am really really impressed by your patience and your good mood over all those years, even when answering questions, where it is more or less obvious, that you cannot really answere them, because of reasons, you know... but I guess this is why you are Community Manager... kudos to you. :) :honoring:

Might that be because of your endless supply of most excellent Whisky up there from the Highlands?

Reminds me, that I should plan a distillery hiking tour in Scotland some time in the next year or so...

Ah, I got it, so the game will be officially released when the portal announcement is finally ready... I wasn't aware that an announcement of that sort involved such titanic amounts of work and care. Guess you have someone working on it fulltime - impressive. Keep up the good work!

The reason for the good mood at least today might be, because he has a Tirpitz in his port

WG would save themselves far less grief if they came right out and said no linking of gold/dubloons. It has been hinted they would unify but at other times they hinted it would never happen.

FFS just be straight up with what the plans are. Yes there would be an initial grief storm but  it will die down and get forgotten about.

Those who are familiar with WG's "antics" over customer service/expectations, this is their modus operandi. We just have to suck it.

WG send my earlier email to remind me that I have unused gold on my account and I should put those on use to buy tanks, premium, convert xp and etc. Why? I haven't play WoT anymore and I have been waiting promised account unification to use that gold on WoWs.
