I was wondering , it would be possible to add the quick message " use your radar" ( or something similar ) ? happens many times to write this and waste time.... maybe seems a stupid request but i think this message is much more useful than " good luck everyone" or " that's was a grat battle " .....is enough to write GG at the beginning or at the end of battle

ty and cheers

I said 2 times to DM use radar so I can snipe enemy dd in my Midway.

That pro, ignored me.
I left him with 1k hp after dive bombing.

Point of story: Use your radar when your teammate ask you.

Anyways, I dont support this, cuz you are not making game even more braindead.

How is improvement to communication making the game more braindead? :Smile_amazed:

how many times you tell a teammate " requesting fire support "  or " get back " and they ignore you ? i m talking about to improving gameplay  , if that player is a potato you can ask anything and will continue to ignore you ,

but there are many others who would do what you asked for

Click spot on map where you think DD is hiding, follow with, "I need intelligence data".

Seriously, for some ppl - thats too complicated. That beeing said: Not sure if they´d understand the suggestions from OP. But it cant make it worst so I support the suggestion.

exactly what I think
"need intelligence data" are understood as " dd/cv spot " . i have enough games and i know that in most cases click map and ask for data its useless....i would like a specific command

I think the quick commands could be more useful. Perhaps the ability to use an alt key command with the F keys to make the difference between requesting or providing certain things. As for the amount of BB's that spam, "I need intelligence data" at the start of the match, please give the spotters a chance to provide it.

Of course it could make things worse - it's another command to be mindlessly spammed by idiots and ignored by everyone else. I agree that 'need intelligence data' can be taken as a request to a CV or DD but that's by convention rather than intent.

Giving a specific 'radar' request is pointless unless you also add 'it's on cool-down' or 'I need it for another thing in two minutes', otherwise all you're doing is opening a new vector for complaints - 'I told our DM to radar for me and he didn't, grrrr, gnash teeth'.

It's fine you being the one who needs radar to shoot a smoked-up DD but what if the DM isn't in position or doesn't have shots himself? Would you automatically hit your radar the moment someone asked you to or would you look at the situation and make your own decision?

Matter of fact: I very often use radar for my team. I dont even need a request for that.

So we need a "its on cool-down" for the already implemented "set a  smoke screen" ? And if someone wants to spam quick-massages - he already has plenty of options.

So you often use radar in the situation you're currently in and make your own decision when to use it. How would another player spamming, 'radar now please' fast commands change that?

I didn't say that. I said it'd open up a new vector for complaints.

I'll repeat my question - what's the value of adding another option? Especially when we've already got a request ('intelligence data') that most players ignore?

Because its not specific enough.

and is true. I personally ignore "need intelligence data" most of the time, since its used by backline camping BBs or selfish DDs sitting in smoke, losing visual to their target.

Another example: couple of days ago I was in Moskva and busy manouvering my fat [edited]around an island, avoiding giving my broadside to a Montana and Kurfürst while still shooting at the broadside of a Zao. Long story short: My attention was very much on my starboard. On my port however, there was an enemy Z-23 DD briefly spotted. Which I didnt notice. One member of my team had to use chat to get my attention and ask for radar. It was only then when I checked and saw: yea, he is in radar range. It had my guns on the other side (as explained) but I gave them an "acknowledged" and hammered the radar right away. Z-23 died.

To your question: A "radar now" quick chat would have made me react even faster and the teammember wouldnt have to type so much.

Why do you think 'need radar' isn't going to be spammed by backline camping BBs or selfish DDs?

As highlighted - you evaluated the situation for yourself, you didn't hit radar simply because someone asked you to. Why do you think any other player would hit the radar simply because you asked them for it? Why do you think automating the request would be any more effective than clicking on the DD's position on the map and asking for intelligence data?

If someone can ignore the click and the map (assuming they have last spotted position switched on) and the request for intelligence, why is asking for radar instead going to work?

Next chat message - "radar ship reported for refusing to radar on request".

And... how exactly does a report from a salty captain needs to concern me? Maybe I should stop nuking RN CLs in their smoke - that has like a 80% probability to get me reported.

Because its more specific and easier then to type in chat what you want. As I said before: I ignore INTELLIGENCE DATA request in my Moskva.

*sigh* So when im in a game with you, im just gona spam in minute 1 : SMOKE - HYDRO - DefAA !!11 and you gonna activate them cuz I say so? Everyone evaluates, if the request is valid if he understands, that somebody wants something from him!

Ohhhh. That's where I've been going wrong.

I thought when a BB player shouts out for intelligence data, that was when I'm supposed to tell him to stop throwing HE at broadside targets. :Smile_hiding:

Why would a specific radar request be spammed any less than the intelligence data request is currently?

The fact that you ignore the latter when sailing your Moskva means nothing. Enough smoked-up island campers spamming for radar means it won't be long before you ignore that too.

I would like a quick message of "cooling down" or "recharging" when someone asks me to use radar or hydro and the consumable it's still recharging.

Could even make it that, if its on CD, the game automatically says it :Smile_Default:
