it's true, but midway is easier to manage and  with the cv rework incoming they won't look into it ever again

If haku managed to win is because he played better midway is not only easier to manage it have also duble strike capacity and is able to attack 2 target at the same time while haku can not

And that's why you only ever see Midways in ranked, if there are CVs in battle?

That's more due to balans AP bombs than air control ability or skill.

Considering all the Worchesters and DMs, i'd argue the AP-bombs are the only way to get air-control where if matters, if only indirectly.

Erm what? Midway is better than. Haku though... Granted in a dd heavy meta the haku would trump the midway. But in this cruiser heavy meta the only way to deal with it is with AP bombs.

The reason you see Midways is because their AP bombs can (and will) OSK Des Moines, Worcesters, Moskvas and Stalingrads which are very influential radar cruisers you can instantly take out of the game with one solid drop.

Has precious little to do with the Midway fighters being slower than the Hakuryu's.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. From my experience the Midway has little trouble to nuke DDs with its TBs now that it can cross-drop (and I didn't have too much trouble getting solid hits into DDs with just one TB squadron when grinding up the line, not quite OSK drops on evading DDs but typically landed two torps anyway).

Also, though that might just be me not being terribly routined with IJN TB squadrons, I personally find that it's harder for me to get a good hit on DDs with IJN TBs even on a cross-drop due to the much bigger gaps between torps. On a solid drop I tend to hit two torps, with maybe a third from the crossing spread if the DD over-/underturned, but it's not really a reliable OSK scenario for me, with the Midway cross-drop it's much easier to land three or more torps for an almost guaranteed kill.

Hakuryu would be better with spotting DDs with an empty DB though if you want to sacrifice half your DB strike potential (and limit the DoT stacking capability).

Am not higher than Shokaku with IJN Cvs however, so take what I said with a pinch of salt.

Yes the midway can delete dds just as easily as the haku can but the haku planes are faster and turn around in less time which means more strikes. And in a dd heavy meta that's what you want.

Right-o, hadn't thought of the attack cycling rate.
