The biggest CV dilemma finally solved

The reason why the CVs were broken was because the CV commander was in 2 places in the same time, which was almost close to time travel: he was on the ship and on the flying planes in the same time.

Basicly, it would be similar to a destroyer using hum manned torpedoes, Kaiten, when the commander was on the destroyer and on the torpedo in the same time.

Finally, WG decided that time travel or teleportation technology during that period was not advanced enough for this to be possible.

So no more time travel for CV captains, yay!

Good job!

The next Twilight Zone mechanism that needs to be solved is telepathy or telepathy-guided vision: how the image that someone sees is instantly telepathic-transmitted into the mind of 11 other players.

You want realism, and you got it, a ship that made all the other obsolete or support, then many realized realism is not so good. Still there should be at least 3 more months of current game play so thats still some time to feel the realism right ^^

BS.

They did have radio, which has been the deadliest weapon on the battlefield basically ever since it was invented.

Yes but they didn't have GPS, so ship positions were not known with pin point accuracy

#lol

If carrier pilots didn't know their position with pinpoint accuracy, they'd have a hard time finding back to their carrier.

You don't need GPS for that.

Navigation has been around for quite some time before that.

Soo....You want that you just see enemy ships on your minimap unless you have direct vision on them? In an arcade game?

Dont get me wrong, but if they'd do that, we'd have players on the barricades. Would be sad to see the new WG office burn down.

We are not playing an complet accurate simulation game, we play an arcade action game which tries to stick as close to history as possible while keeping it arcade like. Means we got endless ammo, fire which magical disappears every time you press a button, a crew capable of fixing 2 broken turrets, engine, steering and the torpedo tubes on a burning ship one just one second and catapult planes which just appear on their launch catapult after a cooldown.

Its arcade, we play it for fun, not history and physical realism, and I belive its best to keep it that way.

@fat_maniac Yes but there was/is something called correction of fire u know ie every artillery officer could correct elevation and asimut if he saw (or had it called in by radio to him) where the first speculative shot went usually took 2-3 single shots to zeroe in and after that full salvoes start coming

The CV is still controlled via minimap while the player pilots his planes.

I guess that's still him being in two places at the same time? Aka CVs are still broken?

Just make sure not to complain when the CV is not there to support you in any way, otherwise it'll just be hypocritical.
