They don't need to, they eat HE like it's their birthday cake ( I like my Vaq... it's a different playstyle and when it works it's very fun ).

Dunno, gimmick of amidship actually saturating can make them surprisingly tough cookies

Because going max camo can give you wrong idea of doing DD things:Smile_smile: You play them (past tier 8 at least) all out Russian, unless you have other DD proper to enter caps. Then you can shove that baguette EXTRA hard with MBRB

I'm at tier 7 :P

 

I do play it like a DD, 6.6km iirc isn't that bad, I just make sure I'm not the only DD.... since when mrb is down I get outgunned by basically IJN DD's. 

 

Also not 100% sure if I would like this as full on VMF replacement, I like being able to rush in support of my spotter DD and just apply massive dpm for a short time, it's the novel thing which makes the line more fun to play. Playing like medium/long range light cruiser is only the goal when the enemy DD's been sunk ( imo ).

Tier 7 have 2nd highest gun DPM in entire line:Smile_smile: You will notice "undergunned" especially on Fanta as she is literally outgunned by Kagero. Mogador also suffers from that, but 8gun salvo have at least some initial punch to it.

 

On positive, from Fanta onwards you will have ballistics to match that extra range. And range you will need when carriers around. Or [insert tier 10 cruiser with railguns]... which is like every one of them except DM and Wooster.

I knew Fanta would be a step back in gun's with only advantage even better speed.

And yet, I've liked that bote and even kept her in port, lacking adequate captain tho.Only issue, trying to set fires to BBmasterrace feels like excercise in futility to the point you'd be better actually going dark and putting fishes into action.

 

Same could be said about Mogador as well - meaty (not so) little cruiser shoved into game as destroyer, as I guess T10 being just that but beefier. I don't feel like grinding 2 16lvl+ captains for both

This is certainly some part of the reason. First you create the problem, then you sell the solution. Friesland is a good example of that.

Trying to win in the ryujo today was driving me insane even if i was killing loads and doing loads of damage (four bottom tier games one top tier lost that game as well lol).

I've taken a few months off, other than a few low level games,  too see what WG would do with CVs.  What are they like now?   Are they in their finished state or are they still a work in progress? Is WG seriously trying to bring subs into the game after the CV disaster?

- generally overpowered due to massive buff in 0.8.7

- still wip, although given a complete lack of adjustments in 0.8.8 it's possible that the devs have given up

That's not good to hear.  I was hoping that something would have been done to make them more suitable to the game.  Never mind.  Maybe I'll take a few more months off to see what happens with them and see if there is a sub crap storm that comes along when they get introduced.

Im not 100% sure but i belive one time i was able to score 2citadels in one drop it was At the end of diving run and from his back but not perfectly alinged, after that no more anyway

You do however need Balls for this one. Many Players are Scared due to the losses. And dont Realize that they can Ignore them. Kaga Squadrons are Kamikaze Attackers. You just Keep Dropping till the Squadron is gone.

Thinking of getting one... depending how that works out with coupons and stuff.

There's nothing that can be done, as a class they are broken by design, you either have something that ruins the game for everyone else or you have something that is so weak that it's virtually unplayable, there is no middle ground.

Currently CVs are in a fine spot. They are a strong class for good CV players, but a weak class for bad CV players- some exceptions there, but that goes for any class. 

For a strong counterplayer it generally still isnt too much of a problem if they run into a strong CV as they'll know how to use their AA, how to position etc. For weak & dumb players, you'll end up with destroyers that have their AA permanently enabled and that don't dodge CV torpedos. And in my opinion that is perfectly fine. Such players won't do good against any other class either anyway. 

The class is strong damgewise, though not quite as strong as before the rework, and their battle influence greatly depends on the CV commander- it is not inherent to the CV class itself. So IMO the current status of CVs is pretty good for both CVs and non-CVs, the only possible problem remaining being the spotting potential against in particular DDs. And that is mainly an issue because- believe me or not- the detectability of aircraft is so high.

I'd be interested but not for >35E, that's too much IMO.

Did get the Ark Royal, it's really good. And funny.

 

BTW after this weekend... Midway coming, finally grinded it.

Well rework is done you see, they don't 'need' the feedback anymore.... 

 

Yesterday Killian cheered me up, I got to shoot down his planes in a training room with Huanghe and yeah yeah the AAA on it is nice... but the only way I can keep dodging those is by constantly turning with the planes.... imagine doing that with 11 other players in the enemy team.

 

But hey, no need to talk about that, it's not like it matters.
