So In these days, if you give a player an advice to how to play in game chat, and if he didn't like the idea and you got reported from a division you will get ban from chating
that's how game system works, you shouldn't talk and advice players, nothing to say... re-think about this

Meh, I got chatbanned yesterday because I stated I'm having fun in a match.

Everyone knows the system is broken. WG isn't interested in doing anything about it however.

I've seen people 'give advice' and be total AAAAAHHHHholes while giving it.

Some of them forget it's a game and people play it to have fun. And yes, sometimes take risk and do stupid stuff.

That said, sometimes the advice is also really useful and i have made some friends, too.

I myself have been advised by 'star players' in such manner, that it was totally out of order. You this (add expletive), you that (another expletive).

Afterward I usually check if they are really such star players, as sometimes they ended up dead first of the whole  team,

after which they spent the rest of the game 'advising' everybody. Or rather, telling everybody what to do like they own the place.

And then when you check their stats... they are worse than your own...

Better not give 'advice' if you're not a very very good player. Also, watch HOW you give advice.

Nobody made you admiral of the fleet. Certainly 'dead admirals' are usually not given any medals.

It happens, especially on weekends. People with IQ lower than their wr do not like to be reminded of the fact they suck, have always sucked and will continue to suck by being given advice. It's pretty much the point of continuing to politely (well, more or less, as blood pressure levels permit) give advice nevertheless. They'll either start to learn or be eventually driven away to farmville or whatever games there is that require even less effort than this. So take these inevitable bans as the badge of honour they are, you're providing a community service and do the work of the Lord(TM).

Post may contain sarcasm or be entirely nuts. Who gives a flying fornication anyway.

Generally the advice you would see in a random game is somewhat along the lines of "Shima faking nuub!!! Go cap!"

Do I have any reason to assume that you did the same?

hahahahahahhahaaha what a polite advise!

dont get me wrong  you maybe was right with your comment, but it seems to be more like critisism to them than an advise.maybe thats  the reason you got reported..

As for reports and compliments aswell dont be bothered as they dont have any use ingame..i have been chatbanned because i wrecked  2 divisions once in a game and i didnt even say anything in chat,,:Smile_bajan2:

^^^^ what BLUB_BLUB said. If I'm playing say for example my Belfast and some guy tells me at the start of the game to go play more co-op I'll be somewhat peeved. I don't really think people appreciate being told by someone else what to do. Then again we have no replay so we don't know exactly what you said and even if you said something in a polite manner it probably comes across as condescending to those players like a stuck up know it all.

Just play your game and don't bother about others with this kind of unnecessary stuff. I don't think they're playing the game just to have you nag at them.

Wait. You believe you've given them advice? :Smile_teethhappy:

You told them that they suck and shouldn't play PvP. You used slightly different wording, yes, but this is what you told them. I won't judge you for that (ok, I wouldn't judge you if you weren't a sub-par player yourself, but even then I'll only judge you a little) but please, don't try to pass insults as "giving advice on how to play".

I mean, if I tell someone to go f*ck himself, I am technically suggesting an entertaining pastime but we all know that's not how it's going to be received, right?

I can get behind that. I mean, solo stats sub 50% on 9 out of 10 tiers and overall Random stats in the red or at least orange on every single tier? Yeah, that might be hard to understand, even if you spent some time explaining.

...but I think I do understand enough to give you some

1 hour ago, HardLens said:

Let me phrase it this way:

You guys need learn a lot about game play, so try play co op before play random battles.

Or at least keep to lower tiers for now. Cheers :Smile_honoring:

i dont give advice personally i feel that although i am getting better i am still not good enough to give proper advice

there are a lot of things i might question

i may question why all the bb's seam to avoid caps like there allergic to them especially in games with no dd's, why the most heavily armored with most hp and huge alpha strike capability's feel the need to sit behind the lightly armored lowish hp cruiser's and let them do the tanking as it were.

i might question the logic of 3 dd's going to the same cap

i may even question why cruisers sit behind a island for half the game while the fight happens outside there gun range leading to half the team being dead before he fires his first shot

i might even question why a cv is using there fighters to escort the bombers while our bb's are getting rip apart by there planes

and i will certainly question the lemming train where 2 people try to hold 1 side and everyone else pushes (sometimes works but nobody ever praises the real hero that was a punching bag stopping them from doing the same on the other side)

but to give advice, only if i am asked what i would have done in that situation and that isn't advice thats an opinion

AH well, I must conclude that they were as smart to at least find the complaint button, so they weren't total N00bs.

I often make a div with my son, and we run premiums as well (bought Hood and Sims in summer sale).

You should have known better than to "give them advice' anyway... it will not help, but it WILL get you reported.

To which you can protest, but I guess you already know that.

You probably also already know that ONE time report from ONE div will not get you banned...

Hey, and never mind the stats. I play 99.99% in division with my son. And what do we get, huge difference in winrate.

Either that thing is defect or something really weird is going on. AS I play BB and he plays DD he gets more kills, makes sense.

But winrate difference 10-20%, LOL. No way. But I'd not make the assumption that I was the one to give out advice unless I had a winrate of >60%.

I play a lot of BBs, agressively too. I do cap with BBs and hunt DDs if I see the opportunity.

But IMO the reason for BBs letting the CL/CA in front is that when a BB detects a DD/CL, it is too late to do anything about it (except try shooting it).

Same if a BB detects a cruiser, many cruisers have torps (RN CLS are just large DDs, bascially). The slow and bad steering BB can never avoid them.

This gets worse in higher tiers, I have now the King George V and it is already difficult to avoid islands (which are not moving and are always clearly visible).

Yes the thing is faster than a Queen Elizabeth or a New York or stuff like that... but the steering is worse and no rudder upgrade either.

I got so annoyed I bought Hood... basically the fattest RN cruiser you can get.

There's a solution too for the torps, press TAB then you can see which ones are dead. If all that remains has no torps then no worry.

Another thing is RNG, shooting at <5km you'd have a chance to not hit a CL or a DD at all.

30 secs reload time for him to spam you with whatever he's got. Or to disappear, reposition and make you have to turn your guns...

Having a helpfull CL in front is probably the wise thing to do.

Of course sitting wayyyy back is not. And spending the whole game camping behind islands also is crud.

But this is what you get when the weaponry dictates you cannot survive getting detected.

HE spam will then quickly finish you off, if the rest of the campers doesn't do it with AP.

Where you can get away with showing broadside and being detected in low tier, in high tier every mistake gets punished.

And that is why they get so much careful, nothing happens. I have seen battles ending with 1 dead, the rest just was hiding... BOOORING!

It's a coin toss, but some times people will actually listen to your advice. At least if it makes sense and you're not being a [insert slang for male human reproductive organ here] about it. As The Sniper says: Be polite. Besides, karma isn't that important.

Had a guy in a Massachusetts who wanted me (Asashio) to stay on the A-side of Mountain Range and spot for him while he pushed in. All of our other ships on that side had either left or been destroyed, and numbers were fairly even. But the survivors of the other team were all on the A-side while we had B and C. I told him that we didn't need A to win and pushing through was just inviting defeat in detail.

He actually listened, turned back, and my team could nibble away at the opponents as they tried to push through to B instead. If he'd pushed through and been destroyed, they might have managed to push into B before the rest of our team could make it over from C.

I gave him a compliment. Figured actually listening to and taking sound tactical advice was worth it.

The thing worth considering is also: Is your advice any good, or is it you that doesn't understand what's going on?

I see loads of "advice" in game. Frankly 9/10 times it's utter garbage, with zero understanding of tactics/mechanics/reality.

A certain forum member who will remain nameless but frequently moans about bad teammates for example told our half strength new Orleans (when it was tier 8) to cap. It was an open cap, with no cover. On the other side of the cap was a full health enemy des Moines. No one was shooting the DM.

I don't really know what kind of reality he lives in, but perhaps he thought a half health cruiser with no torps would win a gun fight against a full health cruiser that has vastly more HP, heal, and DPM.

Perhaps he though the NO would suddenly gain DD level stealth and become immune to radar.

Perhaps he thought the DM would just look at him and let him have the cap.

Perhaps he thought the game mechanics would suddenly no longer apply and the NO wouldn't get constantly reset.

More likely he didn't think at all and just decided to blame someone else without any consideration as to how it would actually play out

So far I have only seen one, from a distance.  But as I lived the whole game I didn't get a peek (after 'death'), and haven't seen one since.

I wonder if it really has Stukas and Yericho horns when they dive. LOL!
