DCing in almost every match.

Right, this will probably be a long one... this is both a rant as well as hope that someone actually manages to help me.

About a year and a half ago I started to play World of Warships again. The game is fine in gameplay and everything but I have one major issue: I kept

disconnecting in almost every game I played. No matter what tier or what the nation it was. It only happens once in a match, rarely twice. It of course

usually comes at the most inconvenient situations. It went to the level of frustrations that I actually had to seek the help of one of the tech-guys from

Wargaming. So we did the following and keep in mind this was all done with the help of some of their 'specialists'.

We removed any and all mods I had.

We re-installed the game from scratch.

We allowed the firewall to read World of Warships.

We opened up a few ports on my router.

I constantly gave them my Ping Plotter report as requested.

We shut off any other program that could use the internet.

We tried if I suffered the same issue on a different device (yes).

At this point, I even went so far and asked my tech-teacher from school if he had a solution (which he had not).

I send them multiple WGcheck Reports.

We terminated any and all programs not needed in Taskmanager.

We checked if this issue happens in other World of Tanks (it did not).

We deleted cache files and preferences.xml files.

We checked the drivers and updated GeForce.

We went as far as to make a new windows account.

We waited for a patch of the game.

This was one huge bloody mess. I started that ticket on the 2nd of April 2017, and once it was the 18th of April 2017 I gave up and just quit the game.

I didn't feel like a valued client from the people who were supposed to help me. They always let me redo the same things over and over again and for some

reason, the expected different result (You know what the definition of insanity is?). What annoyed me as well is that in that 3 week period of messages being

sent back and forth, I rarely had the same person addressing me. I don't mind waiting a little longer for a message if it's from the same person. But every other

post it was a different person who never took the effort to re-read what we had tried in the past. So I constantly had to explain what we did in order to avoid

doing the same thing over again. Their so-called 'specialists' were from all over the place. Then the person cam from Belarus, then from Greece, then Germany...

It was a rollercoaster.

In the end, like I mentioned before, I quit, because it was obvious at this point that Wargaming's helpdesk didn't communicate with each other and likely barely have

any knowledge about how computers and internet and their own game operate. And now after a year and a half passed that stuff, I decided to give it another go.

With a new account and everything. Much has happened since then with the game after all. And yesterday, I had no disconnections.

Happy as I was I thought they finally fixed it with a patch, well, no... Today I played about 5 matches, 4 of which received a DC.

I checked my internet connection which is now even better than it was a year ago (424Mbps download and 41Mbps upload)

So long story short, the issue exists still. And I am at a total loss. I will not open another ticket to Wargaming, because I will not put myself again through three

weeks of bull**** from their helpdesk. This is my final effort as a whole as well. I ask people from the forums who have some knowledge about computers and

whatnot to see if they perhaps have a solution. For it, sure as hell is not coming from Wargaming. Should no resolution come, I will likely quit the game

indefinitely.

Thanks for reading so far down if you have, and I hope you will never reach this point of frustration.

Update:

I bought a new laptop a few days ago and tested if the game had the same issue on it. So far, I managed to play about eight games without any incident, leaving me to believe that it runs fine

on that one. I will continue to play the game on it and just don't bother with the main PC anymore. Still, I want to thank those who tried to give a solution and everyone is still welcome to

give their thought on it.

hmmmm... as you said it did happen on lots of different devices which means that the computer cannot be the problem...

maybe the account? If you have a spare junk email, make a fake account and see if you run into the same problem.

I have had this problem too, but it was only for a few days... When I had it I thought the game might be running too long (even after a couple of minutes) so I tried to play a match, log off, and repeat that nd it seemed to work. Again I'm not sure if thats it. Otherwise it's got to be a problem with the internet, there is not much else that could happen on 2 devices

Thanks for letting us know, I'm sure me and others here will try and help you fix it <3

Unfortunately, trying a new account doesn't matter. I have made several, and all have the same problem. At one point, I let a friend play on his account and he had the same issue.

Have you tried playing the game on a different internet connection with one of your accounts? Are you sure your router isn't showing a connection error? I'm no tech-head by any stretch, but noticed that tuat wasn't on your list of things you tried... Even if you have a fast connection, a worn-out exterior cable can mean it works only half of the time at most, though I dare say you'd have noticed problems with more than just WOWS...

That you are paying for a very fast connection leads me to assume that you're not playing on a machine even older than mine :Smile_teethhappy: so I guess that can't be it. Though tbh I don't even know if that would cause disconnections.

I am using an internet cable, and I made sure to buy a new one not too long ago. And the router is rather new as well, so there should be no problem with it. And as you already mentioned, I do not suffer this issue with any other game. Be it World of Tanks, Warcraft, Steam games or whatever. Personally, I don't think it's an issue on my side, but rather an issue on Wargaming's. They at one point asked me to contact my internet provider and I did, and they said that on my end are no issues whatsoever. But seeing how inept Wargaming deals with my issue, they would never admit this. Worse, the computer I have was custom built but had parts sponsored by Wargaming, they even included a code for a premium Russian ship when I had it built.

A total mystery to me. As you can imagine, your problem does not happen to the majority of the player base as there would be an outcry of huge proportions.

A small idea, that probably won't work but also does not cost anything: Try to not launch the game through the launcher or Game Center (whatever you use) but directly start the WorldOfWarships.exe as an Administrator.

Try reducing your settings to low and see how you go but if that does not cure it and If it is not your ISP, are you running copper or fibre, I have a suspicion it is your computer.

Why do I say this.. well when I began to play this game I had frequent disconnects DC's and the like or ultra long load in or terrible lag in game.

My CPU although not obsolete but was performing at 1.9gHz and so the game was literally too fast for my system to handle.

The result was many frustrating attempts trying to set the game to the computer; all attempts failed.

I resolved by building a whole new system which exceeds minimum specification considerably and since that point I have had no issues.

Tried such. I needed to uninstall the game since it wouldn't let me run the game without having the launcher active. Sadly, when I wanted to install just the game, it still automatically installed the launcher -__- talk about forced programs... In any case, it didn't make a difference.

I re-installed the game, this time with SD settings, and although the game seemed to run fine for 2 matches, I knew this was just luck so I played a bit more and wouldn't you know it, immediately at the third game I received a DC again. So the graphics don't seem to be the issue either. regarding whether I run copper or fiber, I would have to ask my father such, but at the moment he is busy so I would have to get back to you about that later on. I think we have copper but I am not sure.

You said a friend of yours tryed to play with his account on your PC and he has the same problem:

Did you try to go his home and play with your computer with his connection? This could be an easy way to check if the problem is the connection ;-)

Sorry for bad english...

We tried that too, and it had the same result. However! I bought a new laptop the other day, an MSI and so far it had no DCs. I will play a bit longer to see if it really doesn't have an issue on that one but if it doesn't then I am totally at a loss of what the issue could be on my main computer... It just means I have to play Warships on the laptop, can't be helped then.

mmhhh, so there is surely an error or something missing in your main pc or a different setting somewhere in firewall, antivirus (is it the same on both pcs) or what else ...

If you have not too many programs on main pc you could try to restore windows ...

I am sorry but cannot help more...

Sadly, that's no option at the moment. There are too many programs on it and I lack the time to make a proper reboot of Windows. But I think I just won't play the game on the main PC and will do with my laptop. In the end, having a little better graphics and a bigger screen is a luxury problem in this case.
