What was the goal of Raptor rebalance again?

Was it to make it easier or harder? Because I'm confused. There are a lot more ships to kill, alot more torpedoes to dodge which Raptor doesn't do at all.

Don't get me wrong, more targets makes this Op more interesting but also yet more difficult for a random team and AFAIR it was supposed to get easier?

They made Raptor harder, the T7 operation is supposeed to become easier next update.

I tried 3 times. Seems impossible to do with random team, which plays mostly nothing as usual.

 

edit. easy 5 stars with good random team in 4 game.

I had a 4-star and 5-star and then defeats...all because Raptor keeps eating literally ALL the torps. It isn't half as frustrating as Ultimate Frontier atm but I don't play PvE for the challenge.

It seems it's back to co-op for a whole new week...

Simple, WG wants operations to be limited to unicum clan divisions coordinating via TS/discord and playing according to a time table.

To achieve this they are "rebalancing" ops to make them hard and not fun for the average player.

It is easier than UF and quite easy with a decent team. The problem is similar as in UF you can have a great game going and then the aerodrome gets blasted because its impossible to draw aggro from enemies. In Raptor you can have a potential 5-star game ruined when Raptor merrily sails into one of the countless torp volleys.

Players holding their shots to steal kills. :Smile-angry:

 

Make the mission damage-related or something - at least this helps towards a victory.

Kill missions always make WoWs worse... i dont know why they still make stuff like that. Funny thing is, i basicly every time got 5 or more kills, not that i deliberately would do it, but if ppl would play properly, they would get it done much faster :Smile_teethhappy: (except for the times the team failed miserably -_-)

Only happens when noone is infront of the CV imo. Far easier than UF.

This.

Have your BBs sail in front (quite a distance as well) of Raptor, send 1-2 ships to deal with the southern CV and you're good to go. Since destroyers and cruisers try to torpedo battleships first, as long as they vary their heading, they should be fine.

This was pointed out in the PTS feedback.

 

Bots dodge torps the moments they are launched while Raptor sails broadside all fat dumb and happy no matter if torps coming its way are spotted.

WGs idea of fun I guess, basically:

Don't forget. All those Myogis got 2.0 sigma now! They can actually harm your ships!

 

No, but that's the first thing I had to feel in the new op, getting smacked by that Myogi in my Spee. And Myogi dispersion feels so much nicer now.

What's funny is that every single one of our bot ships except Raptor steers all over the place as soon as a torp is spotted.  End result:  Raptor sails off alone without even its heal ship anymore.  To top it off the useless guys who like to spend the entire game in the heal circle are now even further behind if that happens.

 

Can all be mitigated easily by driving in front of Raptor and baiting the torps, which no one does.   Or smoking it up at the right moments, which no one does.   I was all set up to charge in front of it just now and ended up chasing the CV in Bayern instead because no one else bothered heading south at ALL.  Got that done, 20 planes down, CV dead, happily killing the Atago and friends who happened to spawn down there too while sailing back up....then Raptor ate torps, and we were done.

 

The problem with all the new routes Raptor can take is that, unlike Hermes, we can't see at the start where the end point is so have to guess the entire route, so being able to plan to be in the right place for a spawn got harder, much harder..  It's so secret not even the friendly team are allowed to know it.

On a more serious note, haven't tried the reworked Raptor Rescue yet but it sounds rather awful indeed. Why WG felt the need to rework it is beyond me.

Not that hard. Played three times last night - defeat, 4 stars, 5 stars - and we have lost because of bad play by our side. You know usual staff, someone bring IJN DD and die in first two minutes because bots were good in dodging the torps, more than half of your team goes to chase enemy CV leaving Raptor unprotected or player from good clan insult everyone for not being good enough but ends last in the team. It is just that now there were some alternative exit points. Still, by difficulty, it is miles far from UF.

People need to adapt, no wonder on the first day it is much harder then later on. Patience guys. It might turn out to be not as difficult as it is.

It feels quite well-balanced now. 5 stars is doable with a random team, but not easy. 3 star victory is about the norm.

 

For sure I miss those operations where you could farm XP with ~guaranteed 5-star wins, but I guess they were kind of pointless. :cap_tea:

 

I think it's safest to take a BB and tank in front, just to guarantee someone's doing it. Too many players go chase the squirrels.

The kill mission (which often seems a kill stealing mission) along with the masses of DDs in this operation netted me 4 losses out of 4 games yesterday. I guess I'll wait for a couple days till the freeloaders gotten their mission done or have given up on hoping someone will carry them while they can killsteal their 5 kills :Smile_great:

The (extra) sad part is that due to stronk WG programming, the BBs will not be shot at as long as a friendly cruiser is spotted and within the enemy shooting range (which usually is the case when the enemy battleships appear).

 

As for the difficulty, we almost five-stared (™) the mission with three destroyers and that was only prevented by one Kuma which managed to fire at one escort ship without anyone interfering (I think an island blocked our BB's line of fire). If that doesn't speak volumes about how manageable this operation is now, I don't know what will.

 

Then again, I was in one of the destroyers and ended up on second place :Smile_trollface:.

You can try to win the operation when 5 teammembers refuse to shoot and the other 2 have to pound it down :cap_wander:

Thats clearly killstealing. Holding fire until target is low.
