Summer Sale 2018: finished

Whoever is responsible for setting the sale up should be sent to the gulag.

No hype, no announcement, nothing. How does WG expect to make any sales when the Summer Sale isn't even known? Especially in advance, so that people can get their wallets ready.

Last year the sale was overhyped, especially the Big Finale. Now it's underhyped.

 

PS: As an owner of most premiums, most likely, I won't be participating. The money will be spent on other companies that offer quality to their long time customers.

@MrConway might we see the (temporary at least) inclusion of more premiums to be available with doubloons via ingame techtree sometime during the summer sale?

 

Got plenty doubloons I'd be willing to spend on some ships but none of them are available for doubloons.

 

 

And mandatory "can we please get the option to purchase stuff in the premium shop with doubloons as alternative payment option instead of real currency". Doubloons are really losing their value when there's little to nothing to spend them on.

This. If there are no offers for items for doubloons, then the wallet stays firmly shut.

 We all knew a sale was coming sometime,

 

But I think WG have adopted the policy of not telling us it's coming. Why? Simple answer is, in the lead up nobody would buy any premium ship in the hope it will appear as a daily deal.

 And it's a sale so why put newer content on sale when you are still getting a healthy income from it.

 

This is called a summer sale, but I'm thinking it's more like a 'Summer Clearance Sale'. Offer ships that have been in game for some time and who's sales are dropping off, at reduced prices to get those that don't have these ships yet to splash out a bit of cash.

It may end up getting me the ship package on that other ship-tank-plane game WG should be trying to outperform.

Jeah dream on. Very unlikely (especially now since Conway already said no to Belfast).

That is the same as me hoping Z-39 would appear in the summer sale.... (heck or anything to buy cheap for dubloons)

 

Renember the days Premiumships would also be dicounted in the techtree when on discount in the shop? Jeah I wonder why they pulled most of the ships from the techtree..... (meaning the sneaky way by first pulling them from sale everywhere and then only adding them to the shop later)

Having just read the WIKI write up I think that, even though it is reduced in price by 50%, it is still not a good ship to buy with too many things going against her.

You are correct but as a rule I've found higher uptake among users when info is pushed to them as opposed to when they have to pull it for themselves

But what about the people who already have all the ships currently acailable in game for doubloons?

 

It's not like I don't want to spend my doubloons, there's just nothing to spend them on. I know WG couldn't care a rats arse about that since you already got the money value equal to those doubloons anyway, but it's a bit discouraging for spending habits if you sit on a treasure, want to spend it and you just can't ... I know I won't be spending any more real money until after I depleted my doubloons a fair bit.

The main thing going against her is the T6 MM. Other than that, ship is slow, but not the slowest. It turns on a dime. Its only other great weakness is the light plating it has all over. But in exchange, it gets a solid set of guns that are extremely accurate and hit hard.

 

If you aren't turned off by the notion of T6 premium in general, Warspite is likely one of the best if not the best.

IIRC last year we had "Summer Sale" with discounts (50% and 30% OFF) for money and then, few weeks afterwards, there was a sale for Doubloons as well (30% OFF)...
