and how do you expect that the game knows how much time you need for the XP?

He needs a timeframe how long the spoon takes from his mouth to the dish, otherwise he cannot eat properly...

Retraining duration is not given in time but in XP.

Reduced by half means you need only half XP to complete retraining.

By the way, I don't know what happens if you accelerate a retraining already in progress: will it cut the remaining needed XP by half ?

Nope. Depending on what option you pick the previous option becomes invalid. So of you pick the free one and have not reached the 50% mark, you can use the credit option. But if you have used the credit option you can only use the gold option or captain XP.

By using your account's listed average XP per battle.

But that wouldn't take into account any bonuses from camos & flags, as well as change in your premium acc status (you could get it for the 1st time, you may have it on an on-and-off basis, maybe you always run it but it ran out now...) meaning that this time would always be wrong (also acc average XP doesn't work bcuz XP is tier & ship based, so you'd look at ships average xp - but if you go for retraining on a ship you've never played, you obviously don't have any XP to take that guess from)

Yes, the picture is misleading. It says time but it should say XP.

Depending on how fast you gain XP with the concerned ship, retraining can last from less than one day to virtually forever :p

By the way, you can also use free XP or captain XP to speed up retraining (the small '+' icon I think)

I may not have been clear, I'll try to explain what I meant ;-)

Say I need 10k XP for retraining. I take the free option. I earn 2k XP, leaving 8k XP to complete retraining.

Now I pay the 200k credits to accelerate retraining. Will I get:

- initial 10k required, divided by 2, minus 2k already earned, ie 3k remaining

- remaining 8k required divided by 2, ie 4k remaning

In other words, is it less interesting to pick the credits acceleration after having started to retrain, or is it the same as paying it right at the beginning ?

Alright did some testing. Retrained a captain for free on the La Gallisionere, and played 1 game in it:

I then used the 200k credit option and this is what happend:

You do seem to keep most of the XP you earn before the retraining. So IMO just paying that 200k credits from the get go will be just as fast.

Going by those numbers you got exactly 1/2 of what you were still missing

Yes, now we know that the option will cut by half the remaining XP needed to complete the retraining.

So it's better to pay at the beginning of the retraining.

Thanks a lot for the experiment ! :cap_like:
