Dear Fellow Commanders,

While this topic is very unrelated to WoWs, especially the GAMEPLAY itself, since this is the most frequently visited forum area I believe this would be a right place for the subject.

Not sure how many of you is aware of the Thailand Cave Rescue op in which 12 kids and their trainer is to be saved - against significant obstacles.

https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/thailand-cave-rescue/index.html

I truly hope success will come.

And while we play our favorite game and use our ship's pumps to remove water after a torpedo hit flood, a lot of water pumps are at work in Thailand to remove water from a cave system where the boys are trapped - few of them may even be a player of WoWs...

Indeed it is.

Whats the purpose of starting this thread, praying for them or going in Thailand to help the rescuers?

Things like these happen every day all around the world and we never even hear about them.

Anyway, I read somewhere the kids are rescued already, so it is even more redundant.

They are found and they are all well it seems. The rescue operation is still ongoing.

That said: This thread doesn't belong in gameplay. It is offtopic and as such it should be posted there.

They have been found, but the cave is flooded so they can't be rescued.

They're going to have to stay in the cave with food/water being brought in by divers until the water/debris is cleared, or they might even have to learn how to scuba dive.

Had no intention to divert GAMEPLAY subjects. It would be impossible to do anyways.

Just wanted to point out a real life even that may be significant.

A little bit of sympathy does not hurt anyone, does it?

Whilst one has to tip one's hat to the cave rescue folk (speaking as a recovering potholer, they are amongst the gnarliest people under the known sky), this really should be in the 'off-topic' section. Presumably, a mod will be along presently to move it...

Then why even post it here???

There is time and place for everything. And Gameplay section of WoWs forums simply isn't the place for your thread.

It's not related to gameplay.

It's not related to the game.

It's not related to warships.

FFS, if they were rescuing people from some sinking ship at the very least, there would be SOME connection. But there's none. This is COMPLETELY unrelated news from the other end of the world.

And it's not even like there's a point in all of that. If you were trying to get people to put their money into some fundraiser for the victims I would understand (it would still be inappropriate but at least there would be some purpose to it all). But all you do is... share the news? Because it's a real life event and it may be significant? Significant to whom?

There are PLENTY real life events that are significant to some people.

Take this

https://www.trtworld.com/asia/search-ends-for-victims-of-ferry-sinking-in-indonesia-s-lake-toba-18629

See, it's even ship-related. 164 people are presumed dead as the action is finally called off. This is incomparably bigger tragedy than a dozen kids that have been found and are relatively likely to be safely rescued. So, since a little sympathy does not hurt, shouldn't we make a separate thread mourning these 164 almost certainly dead people?

World is full of news, many of them tragic. Most of them you're not aware of. Have you any idea what a mess it would be if everyone here tried to educate people here about each random tragedy that - for whatever reason - caught their attention?

I know there is off-topic section but is forum about a game really the best place to post daily news?

Hello everyone,

Topic closed due to Wrong section. For things related to everything out of the game there's the Off Topic section.

Have a nice day.
