Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

I have seen _FTD_ a couple of times...

 

Two times I remember. One time I was in my new midway and he was on enemy team. I got a bit nervous... my team was not flanking the enemy japanese tier x cv. Which was Reyte btw seen him too.

 

Told my team to attack and they lost, they were doing alright up to that point, but they would have lost probably anyway by torpedo planes... not completely sure though. That was a couple of days ago.

 

Seen _FTD_ again today, this time on my team in his montana I think it was ! ;) I tried to defend him with fighter, first set my fighter to defend his ship automatically against dive bombers, then I tried to strafe and successfully did strafe torpedo bombers from enemy. This was when I was in my Essex. Unfortunately not all torpedo planes where shot down, of each squadron 2 survived, I don't think _FTD_ turned.. so the remaining torpedo planes finished him off... he did notice I tried to help him ! ;)

 

We won that game ! Also thanks to him for advancing on B and also me ending up in third place, and he was in a division with 3 others together we were top 4 spot.

I was really looking forward to play with you after reading the CV guides. I had the feeling that you know what you are talking about and you have proven that to me ingame, your coverage was really good! Unfortunately I had to slow down with my Montana because I was the only one pushing so I got exposed to the CV. In the end it all worked out just fine! 

 

 

Was a pleasure playing with you, at the end of the day this shows again that knowledge pays off in the game!

For me, a record number of fellow forumites in one match :

Crysantos and Et_Lanatus_Baro were a bit unlucky as they had on their team a few DDs unaware of radar mechanics

We on the other hand had Reyte in his Hakuryu. The enemy Midway seems to have tried hard, but was no match for Reyte so the battle in the end was quite one-sided.

 

Rough game indeed - we tried our best but with infamously decent players like our Shima it was a bit hard against you guys. We tried our best but there's only so much you can do - got at least Witherer out of it but that's pretty much the most positive thing I can say about that battle. Very well done from your team and you earned your +1 in that match Hope to see you around soonTM again!

Met T_H_0_R in his Scharnhorst just now, while I captained König. He was playing with potatoes. I was playing with potato farmers. He did reasonably well, considering he faced superior numbers (and got top of his team). I think I also did reasonably well, at third place with a T5 BB in a match with only four non-T7 ships per team (two T5 and two T6). A little too much time was spent getting into range, and I was on the flank with less action.

 

Yeah, you played well. Got my complement afterwards.

 

I just couldn't fathom that team... I mean, I was almost alone on that flank vs. you and 2-3 other guys while the rest of my fleet lemming trained to the other side and all they managed to do was sink. As, a, group, sailing, together!!! You lost only 3 ships. Sorry for being salty a bit, I don't mind losing to a good fight. But when you are the only one putting up a fight on your team it tends to get rough. Should have avoided those two torps from your Blys, that is what cost me half of my HP.

 

I loved my time in König, hope you are enjoying her as well.

Your team there was like most of my teams today. A third of them managed to die before I get to kill the first of the enemies, and that's basically rushing to the centre and torping something. Crap teams happen, and no amount of carrying is enough.

 

Salt is fine, as long as it's not hurling insults and abuse at someone.

 

König is a fine ship. What with the matchmaker seemingly giving her more T7 matches than anything else, she still holds her own. It's rare I'm below the top three. Gets very few citadels (I get most of them on cruisers at max range), but that's a two-way street, so tanking capacity is great.

Met Sky- I have an idea -Buck - let's share it on the forums - Flying for the second time, this time he was on my team, thus he was allowed to win 

I was quite busy but I think he didn't do too bad since I was attacked by planes only once - plus we were the last two surviving ships on our team and he secured the victory by performing a dive bomb attack on a near-dead New Orleans that I couldn't reach. Well done

Met Durin_IV, Tyrendian89 and a divmate of theirs whose name escapes me (apologies), while they were sailing their NC's and a Shokaku, while I was in my Mogami... on the wrong team. They announced that they were going to shoot me, but only Durin managed to land hits on me (18k... OUCH!). My team folded in the fraction of a minute, but I still managed to get in a fair amount of damage. Team still got steamrolled and then I was burned down by a Roon (of all things...).

Not sure, but I think Ictogan is a forumite, yes? Just had him on my team, me in Ibuki, him in Hakuryu. Our team failed misserably. He had 2 kills, I had 1, that's all our team managed.

Cool ! Didn't notice it it was you ! Gonna watch replay after this post to see how you played ! That new orleans was kinda funny ! He wrote a few seconds after dieing right before game ended: "Skybuck banned" or something ! LOL.

I am having so much fun watching you play. I was practicing carrier sniping, and I successfully sunk the enemy CV, so that's why you were only attacked once. It's a risky tactic... and there was a DD near B which might have gone through straight to my CV... so I was looking at the map and thinking too myself... damn the team is not guarding my CV well... except that one Battleship that happen to be sailing past B... and that was you ! =D

 

From replay it looks very dangerous there were many enemies... but apperently you know no fear ! I am very glad you were there... at least for a brief moment... and also another BB... that kept the DD in check I guess...

 

Also you seem to drive/navigate very fast and well... fun to watch ! I was also lolling at the player saying "help us" and then "thx for no help bastards" while I just sank that CV... ungreatfull bastard he was... but your reply was brilliant/cool... "press l2p button" ! LOL. Didnt even notice it was you ! LOL... but now I do... ok now I go watch rest of it ! So far it already a lot of fun to watch ! =D

 

It was you who damaged the new orleans heavily and set it on fire... It might have even burned to death or perhaps not quite... I just finished it off...

 

It was you who knew when to retreat since we ahead in points ! Well done !

 

It was a funny ending where new orleans was like 5 meters behind our nagato... it was crazy... I was like oh my god... is he gonna ram it or something ?! which ship is faster ?! Nagato or new orleans... pretty crazy ! LOL.

 

Anyway CV hunting takes some time and such thus my damage was only slightly under 100k damage... I am bit curious... what was your total damage ? Since I think you did land some good hits ?! ;)

 

By the way... who are those two kinds in your signature ? It's been fascinating me for a while now ?! <g> you sure have some fascinating graphics !

Met Tellson with a Division mate, both in D.Donskois.

His team curbstomped mine in no time on the western side, while i was leading the push and chased both Donskois on the eastern side while being under fire from them, and a Bismark, Khaba and a Zao.

The BBs on the eastern side took refuge behind my Hindenburgs armour - what a ship. 

Luckily, the game ended before the combined fire from the guys mentioned above and the other guys from Tellsons team who managed to come around the otherside could sink me and the pittyful rest of my team.

Just met iEarlGrey in his Ranger whilst I was in my Saipan.  Whilst a decent player, the Saipan (5 skill captain) is just so much better as to make him not much of a threat.  I focused heavily on my dmg, and as top tier in a BB special weekend I was able to easily get high caliber but I managed to frustrate him a little bit.  He still came 3rd on his team in a domination game which meant he was no slouch in the damage department but I slowed him down a bit

Ofc because of the current MM I spend most of the game running and dodging. Also couldnt cit-pen the broadside of a Roon from 9 km; only reg pen. Yeah awesome cruisers ..... I should really quit playing that crap. Its obviously that is what WG want all cruiser players to do anyway ......

They didn't have any support at all with their Gearing/Fletcher/Kagero setup that's why they couldn't really do anything although they had the DD  and sneakiness advantage.

You and I think a Gneisenau, Scharnhorst and an invisible Fletcher and not that much support on my side for me...You were great in dodging shells (IFA skill?), I donated Karma for that to you

Dammit, I thought you might post about that game and it was horrible, but luckily one of my few bad ones.

 

Mandyxx and Babykim went A and met you but I went to B.  I figured that if they ran into you then you wouldn't be able to hang about due to bad concealment meaning our support would target you, and they did get the flag but your numbers there were high and the expected support was 20km away - they probably should have bailed way back whilst they still could. I took B whilst another cruiser on our team went C but I couldn't see what to do next.  I decided to take a risk pushing from B to C south of the island rather than north and instantly regretted that when I ran into your team's fletcher with radar equipped Chapyev and other ships and although I escaped with half health it meant they could push on me quickly.  I think we were about the first 3 to die.

 

 I should load up the replay and screenshot what our team was doing 5 minutes into the game.

 

Anyway, was good to see you topping your team at the end of the game.

Then the guy wanted to do the stupid battlesheep thing and hug blue line on the island chain .... and promply got several torps shoved up his [edited], as everyone expected that had a look on the minimap.

 

With that nearly full hp top tier BB down without any reason (aside from, you know, ... "battlesheep"), we only could fight a delaying action against the push on your side ..... and it was tense. ^^

Yeah, havaduck simply got a lot of experience with the Pensacola so he tends to throw that ship around like a drunk male stripper vying for them dollars on the pole. Whenever he doesn't, he also tends to find himself having an inexplicably lot of freetime to look at ponies and stuff, though I always suspect he's doing that on purpose with the way he's going on and on about how nice those ponies are ...
