Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Just had Spellfire40(Amagi) and Jethro_Grey(Kagero) in my team while I was playing Izumo. I died first but did a lot of damage and tanked a ton of shells before that.

I just saw Trigger_Happy_Dad in a ranked battle. I think he's pretty mad at me now though because he got annoyed about "too much chat, that it doesn't let him focus" so I told him to turn it off. Then he told me that there's sometimes tactical information there. Then I told him to mute me. He didn't appear to do that first and told me that if I'm so bored I should get a pet "or something". Then I told him that I'm sorry that he has the attention span of a rock.

 

After that he muted me. Which is how it should be - I can do my chat and he can stay focused.

 

I do wonder though - is it really that difficult for people to ignore chat messages when they need to focus?

You just used the chat to spam useless text all game, useful info will be lost in that wall of text.

 

The chat should be used for useful info, not for:

 

"Why do people go into ranked battles without 15 skill point captains" bla bla bla monolouges by you.

 

I wasn't "mad at you", just annoyed that you clogg the chat with meaningless bla bla all the time, so I told you just that and muted you, end of story.

 

Maybe you wouldn't have died so early in the first game if you hadn't typed non-stop?

 

Also - why is it so hard to understand for you that some people like the chat to be free of spam text in a competitive game mode? 

 

Most people don't join Ranked Battles because they are bored and want to chat about the weather and stuff...

 

(you didn't talk about the weather but your messages were absolutely irrelevant to the ongoing game,, that's just spam)

Both of us in our Sims. We had a heated exchange of HE shells and to my surprise i came out on top (of the water)

But cruisers on my flank worked together very good so trigger with his Hiryu ignored us and I was somehow able to get kraken was a nice match

Wp, was  pretty much impossible to launch an attack at your flank with that much AA and "T" cover there.. ;)

I think we can safely assume now that everyone has battled with Trigger Happy Dad. I wouldn't at all be surprised if he saw himself on the opposing team occassionally.

Saw Dropsiq and Ghost_SWE (is he a forumite) in a game in ranked battles. New dawn I think was the map. Dropsiq was in his atlanta, played it pretty well. Was quite impressed.

I don't see how typing less would have saved me from blind torpedoes shot into the smoke that I started just moving into. In fact, if I had typed instead of starting to move out of the cap I would've been fine. I would've also been fine if there hadn't been planes above my smoke or if the guy hadn't been able to shoot me after I got out of the smoke. None of those were true, and none of those are affected by me typing or not typing.

 

Tactically the better choice would've been to not go into the cap now once I've reflected on the match. I should've known that the CV was going to camp the A cap with all the planes and headed towards A or just AFKed somewhere doing nothing. It would've given the same result, except maybe we wouldn't have got the A cap but that didn't make a difference ultimately anyway.

 

It's not difficult for me to understand that you don't like seeing chat. What's difficult for me to understand is why you can't ignore the chat. You have to look to the side of the screen and specifically pay attention to it for it to have any bearing on you playing at all. If you need to focus then just ignore it, I have absolutely zero problems doing that and thus miss a lot of chat when I'm streaming.

 

I join ranked because of fun. And chatting during times when nothing is going on is more fun than not doing so. Text chat also has the massive advantage that people can ignore it if they so choose and only engage in it if they so desire.

 

About your "useful info" comment: do you honestly believe it is not important to let people know that going into ranked battles with a <15 point captain is a bad idea?! [edited] That same dude because of that lost us a game before in the match, because he had no way of fighting the planes of the enemy.

Yep, I saw you there and was a little annoyed with the team since they just coudn't gel together...despite me asking nicely...happens when some folk like to play solo or can't speak english. When I saw your name in the enemy lineup I knew it would be a hard game and then it all fell apart with the team. The very next game I saw dropsiq again on atlantic, this time on the reds. My team won and I played an overall better game. Dropsiq is deadly in his atlanta...I told the team this and they were slow to focus on him, but he eventually succumbed and joined the fish on the bottom of the stormy seas ..was a relief to see him go down (sorry mate...but you're a real threat to dd's in your atlanta).

Just saw Vulcaan in Ranked. we unfortunately lost but it was a great battle nevertheless!

Met Phlogistoned (Blyskwica) on my team in ranked.  It all sounded organised in chat but somehow wasn't - either I misread the flags or everyone said yes to B+C and did their own thing... but I sailed towards C in my Colorado on Tears of the Desert and then spent most of my time in a fighting retreat towards the islands behind B.  I was in limited danger due to only facing 2 CAs at about 12km (breakfast) and long range fire from their 2 back line BBs.  Phlogistoned died relatively early but we had command of A and B and seemed to have a comfortable time of things for the duration of the game.

I derped hard in that game. Started typing without 'enter' first, and of course let out my smoke before first cap. Rather than wait, as I should have, I proceeded to the cap and was promptly dispatched.

 

Somehow I often seem to do those types of mistakes when other forumites are around.

matter of fact, I don't want to meet him in battle... with my luck, he prolly is on the enemy team and makes my life miserable by keeping me from capping etc.

I had the good fortune of getting into my first match of the night with my Lexington pairing up with Kann_Nix_Extreme in his Essex. He will gladly attest to how I've managed to pull off a very good game despite being half drunk! :p Glad to see you around, and thanks for drawing the enemy team's attention to your higher-tiered planes.

I met iEarlGrey in ranked. He was sailing in his Błyskawica in the enemy team, me Kiev. It was a close battle, in the end we won.

I had 2-3k hp during the second half of the battle, I was lucky I could dodge most shots and survive.

I watched the video on twitch afterwards, it's enlightening to see yourself from the enemy's perspective.
