Met @Europizza twice today in his Vampire II. Once in a Midway while the other in a Halland. Chat wasn't happy with what happened in-game

I was less amused by some of the events that took place today, especially if it involved a certain Fletcher that was humping islands for half a match

@Europizza and I bumped into @Yedwy on the same team..

 

That 43% Florida was all kinds of stupid. In fact, there was a lot of special players in our team in that game.

 

The whole night has been full of special players, always seem to get them when i'm div with @Europizza

Just met @fumtu (Vampire II) on the enemy team in ranked on the North map.

Wanted to punish him with my Minotaur for being a traitor to Queen and country, but didn't expect to find a sneaky GK waiting for me.

 

Despite my perfect derp moment, we still won.

And according to his team mates, he is the reason they lost (if we can trust the GKs statement... ^^).

That GK was an idiot. I don't know what he expected for me to do to full health Kremlin while he was stuck nose in. Still nice to meet you. Especially the second game where we were on the same side

Had a game with @HMS_Kilinowski and two of his THESO clanmates.
Unfortunately the three of them were all on the wrong side so we two plebs lost miserably...

It was Okinawa map iirc. We took the noob route down the side of A-cap and I think I was spammed a bit by a Seattle that gave me some grief. I had to carry @asalonen in his powercrept Udaloi and @lliuhto who took a kiting cruiser with an AXY- turret setup into an offensive line-up for whatever reason. Ofc one does not see my superior impact on the game. In your defence, your team was already down 3 DDs before I even arrived at the side entrance to A. So this turned into a steamroll pretty fast. The Caracciolo and Nelson are no opposition for a top tier division, 457mm guns vs. 25mm armor. Your friend and you then needed to run, which due to the diamond-shaped map forces you broadside to every BB at B and C. Not sure who detonated you. Not me, my kill was probably one of the T7-BBs.

 

Anyway, it was a refreshing experience, since usually when I see a forumite, I mess up and leave early. I salute you.

Yeah that was me, whenever I see a "known good" player I always try to make his life harder. 

Especially when we went C at first, then saw two DDs deleted and the rest running -

so we decided just to spam the hell out of everything since we could see the loss coming a mile away.

Today met two forumites: 

 

@The_Chiv in his Ägir, he went to wreck the enemy at C while we were busy tatering around at A and B. 
We were succesfull, the enemy ran. Unfortunately that mean I could not even get one kill. 

They were running away so hard I ended up in C... watching The_Chiv kill the last few of them.

Great ROFLSTOMP there, should have mounted that extra outboard motor...

 

We also met @Zuihou_Kai who claimed to be a bit rusty, as we begged for mercy.
Must have been truly rusty as he didn't make 1st place. Our team was kinda crappy, too.

Should have seen the game after it. Ran in killed musashi with torps, killed a mahan with guns and killed a nelson with torps We lost but I made up 50% of the KILLS

@The_Chiv in Arizona, I was in Kaga (forgive me :D), we won the game. I tried to focus on spotting DD, it didn't work well with Cossack at the end, almost took our cap :/ My skills in CV need a lot of polishing to say the least, so nothing to write home about. The_Chiv was top of the table of course, cudos!

That game was rough all around. The left  was easy to blow through but our right got overwhelmed. Your map awareness in knowing where to run was on point. Your anti dd play does need some work, but that is ok. Just food for thought. If you can spot and hunt dds early then you can have cruiser engage them as well. If you wait till later then most likely you wont have cruisers to support you. All in all your cv play was better then average and while I know I will get flamed for this, practice make perfect.

@Meowgli Ran in to him a few times while he was testing Tone. First game he decimated me mind you my whole team failed as well. 2nd game however it was a pitch battle and ended up being me in a Morgami 155 vs his tone at 3km range. I won the duel. Afterwards I decided to give my opinion on his ship. Seems he had been getting the same opinion from others all night. We struck up a conversation and turns out we both had similar views on many aspects of the game. We talked in chat for like an hour not playing a single game. Eventually we teamed up for some Meme derp fun taking out ships we hardly ever played. This included a Makarov Div. It was a good time, minus the 10 cv matches we had in a row at different tiers. Moral of the story, while you may not like cv play or broke back annoying cruiser hybrid you should never judge the player. You may miss out on making a friend.

Thanks for a good word and advice, points taken :) I need practice in all classes tbh, every little helps. But I did cap in this game, almost as good feeling as sinking a CV in a DD ;)

That you did. The irony of it is at the start of the match I commented "Great Pearl harbor 2.0" to my div mate. I took 3 torps and 8 bombs from the enemy Kaga. I would suggest focusing on one class at a time. Each class has some pretty general traits you can master that can greatly improve your win rate. 2nd thing I can offer is never assume your team will be able to do anything on their own. 3rd and final thing. Order of kill priority, this applies no matter what ship you are in. DD's, CA, BB/CV I know it may be tempting to rush to kill a cv or bb but killing dds and cruisers is by far more important. DDs spotting and ability to cap with a measure of safety are massive tools that when leveraged correctly can easily win matches. Killing them fast blinds your enemy and lets your team have a first strike advantage over their enemy. Failing to do so however allows the enemy to have unrestricted vision and tends to keep your BBs in the back. Cruisers are DPM machines and if they can get set up behind cover or allowed to kite farm will easily melt even a bb. Both these classes of ships also have the added bonus of having a higher base xp payout for damage done to them over that of a bb.

I've encountered a few forumites since my return from the break.

 

First of all, @Muppeteer twice, on the same team and me with Shimakaze both times. The little curse I had with his presence seems to be officially lifted after three victories in a row (the first one before the break). I already mentioned @Execute0rder66 in another thread (although it seems he changed his IGN in the meantime). While playing Minotaur IIRC, faced @Europizza's Petropavlovsk in a not-so-good match for his team. Also @lup3s twice: first my Nelson against his Baltimore (a defeat), then his Haida scoring the First Blood and my Musashi the last one. Speaking of Musashi, with @The_Chiv's New Orleans sustaining one flank in Okinawa while the other swept through the caps.
