I met @_Teob_ in ranked today, we were both in a jutland. He was somewhat unlucky with his team though (cough), including a neptune who lost a close quarters fight with me :D

 

Though the next 2 or 3 games it was my turn for the special ed class.

Our plan was the same as your plan when we faced OP for the first time in the build we used and got our bums handed to us. 

 

So we thought about giving it ago (put in chat a fun game didn't I) and yeah.  9 wins, 2 losses last night in it. 

 

Completely throws teams off balance and gets them to completely change their game plans, many clans can't be that flexible and start flapping. 

 

It's all about information and DD's can provide that for the BB.  The BB dictates this seasons CB's and a good BB player does very well.  Kill the radar ships and GG. 

 

So many torps and so many 32 MM pen DD shells .  Until teams start bring more Radar ships, you will see this build more often. 

 

Last game of the night was against GURKA and they had the same set up (another Cossack instead of KIDD).  Complete truth but i actually DC'd during the game but luckily smashed the smoke button before going back to menu to log back in.  By the time i got back in, we had already won. 

 

The lads were winding me up saying "your the last man, their hunting you down in your smoke, quick get back on!" little gits

And how many radar ships have 32mm amor?

 

That setup is nothing new and the better clans use Kiev not Akizuki.

I'll tell that to the 2 NC's we melted, radar or not. 

 

And yeah had 1 team with 3 Kiev's and it didn't go too well for them.

 

What's the torp range and concealment on the Kiev's compered to the Akizuki?  yeah, made a massive difference. 

 

But i know what you are saying mate. 

 

It's all counter-able but teams need to adapt and when we first met OP, we certainly didn't. Lol 

 

But the biggest thing of all? It was really fun!

The Heals give them similar HP to most T8 cruisers, while Akizukis are victims with more radars to come.

And when everything else is gunned down, the BB is helpless anyway.

Don't forgot the torp range and concealment my friend, massive massive factor.

 

You always get the first shots against Kiev's (our HE BB was decisive) due to their woefully poor concealment.

 

We did think of using them, but after meeting that team we sticked with the Akizukis instead (with me in the KIDD for a damage sponge and spotting and Cossack for other cap). The concealment and torps were the biggest factors for us when deciding if we should change to them. 

 

But i can see why people do use them don't get me wrong.

Only need 2 ppl working together in raked you can do some read dmg. That is pretty rare tho it seems. Most of my DD teammates die within the first 5 minutes. Nice breath of fresh air getting you on my team 

Could not compliment you since my game crashes after every ranked game lately.

@Kimochii_desu was cruising on the opposite team and spotted my DD trying to cap the infamous C cap on Mountain Range. Long story short, I went from Ni hao to Sayonara faster than I could say either of those things. Not really upset about getting a quick battle like that as I had a pizza ready for oven waiting for me. The battle result was quite enjoyable.

@Mr_Tayto and I met in a game today if I'm not mistaken. He was in a dd on the other team and I was sporting a rare Yami appearance. We won a nail-bitter although the game looked an easy loss after the first five minutes. I was dodging and kiting while cursing until his team for some reason started throwing the game. They threw it so well that they lost in the last couple of seconds. He was top 3 i think so congrats :)

I thought I saw you. I was in the Lightning I think. Had a good game personally but as you say the team threw it hard. I'm sure @Saltface was with me.

Met @Dr_Snuggles in his Yamato and his two division mates yesterday. Was my first game in Bourgogne, having just enough steel from Ranked to buy her.

Was a close win, but a fun game. If I remember correctly Snuggles was top of the team (might have been second), and I was third, so was a good game 

 

I was serving a 3 day chat ban yesterday, so I couldn't really speak, but thanks for that warning for the friendly torps
