This. Mousing over the line tells you the exact number of missions you have completed, and the progress on your current mission. Why isn't it just a number from the beginning? It is completed and listed in the overall campaign mission as one step towards the goal (current maximum 8/26). If you didn't complete the mission, yet the timeframe for completing it is over, you also do not need to see it anymore. You no longer have a chance to complete it, so why show it to you? So please present us a clear example under which circumstances you need to see past missions and why. If you want to know how many you completed: look at the bar of the 'finale'.
