Hopping mad! US Cruiser Split: Wargaming screwed up transfer of my captains to the new ships - refuse to help.

The captains were moved to the new ships AND (according to notifications I received, saved and passed on with my ticket) the captains completed the "Senior Command Course".

As you know, the "Senior Command Course" instantly and fully retrains the captain for the new ship.
Except that something went wrong and my captains are showing as needing full retraining for the new ships.

I raised a ticket and fought my case, but it has been closed with the recommendation that I "head to the forums if you would like to expose your opinion on this matter".  So that is what I am doing

Greetings Commander,

Thank you for contacting our customer support.

Having checked the case with our specialists, there does not seem to be any error. Please note, the article merely states that the crew gets moved, not re-trained. On the other hand, you can head to the forums if you would like to expose your opinion on this matter.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us again should you have any questions or doubts.

Best Regards,

This leaves me with a total a total of 180 000 Xp needed to train the moved captains  or 90 000 XP  plus 1 000 000 silver (5 times 200,000) or 2500 gold

DETAILS

Spoiler

Pensacola Captain #1 needs 75000 XP for retraining
Pensacola Captain #2 needs 25000 XP for retraining
New Orleans  Captain needs 30000 XP for retraining
Baltimore  Captain needs 25000 XP for retraining
Buffalo  Captain needs 25000 XP for retraining

Yes, I know that there is a mission on Pensacola to get 190000 Captains XP.
However, guess how much it cost to retrain my 19 point ex-Cleveland captain who mysteriously DID get both moved AND trained to Pensacola - you guessed it 190 000!

Any comment from WG staff?

erm... you get the 190k elite xp for FREE so that you can retrain your captain... costs you nothing other than a game in co-op (or any other mode)

whats the issue?

(This was information released multiple times before the change also)

The captains he has should have been automatically retrained for the new ships. They weren't.

The 190K was given so that the old Cleveland captain could be either retrained for the new Cleveland or had his skills reset for the Pensacola.

Wait your Captain were not retrained? That is Strange were they maybee in reserve at the time if Split with others in their place? I ASK since i had Cleveland pepsi no Balti and desmo each with their respective Captains and when the ships were moved each got retrained for the ship at that tier as far as i remember

The only one of the ships I had in port with a Captain assigned was the Cleveland.

At the split the Cleveland Captain was automatically assigned to the Pensacola and retrained at zero doubloon cost to the Pensacola.

I heard about the play 1 game on Pensacola to get 190k Elite XP, so I did so and got that Elite XP. The 190k is the exact amount it would require to reset the spec of a 19 point Captain using Elite XP instead of Doubloons (if you wanted to spec it for the Pensacola)

I then retrained my Captain back to the Cleveland using 200k and the required Elite XP which was less than the 190k from the mission.

@Admiral_H_Nelson, to clarify, which of those steps didn't work for you? From reading your post it looks like the Captain wasn't retrained for the Pensacola despite you getting the message.

All captains should have been retrained.

Worked fine for me and should have worked fine for everyone. This is obviously a bug.

Before the split I had 3 captains on the tier 6 Cleveland (Don't ask!  But it was my "go to " ships for Operations )

-One captain was retrained to Pensacola

-two captains were assigned to Pensacola but not retrained despite going on the "Senior Command Course" .

Each of the following captains was assigned to a new ship, but not retrained despite going on the "Senior Command Course"

- Captain from former Tier 7 Pensacola was assigned to the new Tier 7 New Orleans.

- Captain from former Tier 8 New Orleans was assigned to the new Tier 8 Baltimore .

- Captain from former Tier 9 Baltimore was assigned to the new Tier 9 Buffalo.

In my experience captains have been assigned to the new ship, but stay in the same training level they had before. Untrained captain remains untrained. This captain switching was done before. They just change specialization. Captains are not retrained. If your captains were fully trained before, but are not trained now... bug.

Your 19 point captain did not get misteriously transfered. It was planned, and explained by WG. 190k mission is exactly for that retraining, if you want to switch that captain to new Cleveland.

By my my case I had all 4 ships ,Old Cleve,Pensa NO and Balti ,all captains were retrained exept

new Cleveland it got a new captain 10 pts, old captain was sent to reserve. It was deffinately a

loss from players perspective as i needed 500 gold to respec captain and as i did not had any

i used all those 190000 for respecing +20 games to get captain in green, same problem is with

all other  ship captains ,they all need different skills in new levels and i dont have the will to pay

for all that so i sold everything exept Cleve,so WG lyed saying that players do not loose anything

with split .Even If respecing cost is lets say half(250) then the cost for every player is 1000 gold

minus 190000 free exp.

P.S Almost forgot compensation was something 20 mil.

I guess the system must have treated one of them as the Captain, no idea which and what rules, maybe the last one assigned to Cleveland, it sound like in that case it worked as expected.

I would have expected each of those Captains to be fully retrained as part of the migration (like mine did for Pensacola), that does sound a bit like something didn't work right.

But you overlook one key fact: I got notifications (which i saved and sent in with the ticket) that the captains have completed the "Senior Command Course" .

Any captain who does that course (which normally cost 500 gold) is instantly full trained for his new ship.

Remember that the precedents set by the previous line splits (IJN Destroyers and Soviet destroyers) is for Wargaming to transfer the captain to the new ship FULL TRAINED, regardless of previous status.

This ties in with the notifications about the captains completing the Senior Command Course.

It's mentioned in the patchnotes. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/updates/american-cruisers/

Quote

Please note! When Update 0.7.5 hits the live servers, all players will have a chance to complete the following combat mission: Play one battle of any type with Tier VI cruiser Pensacola to get 190,000 Elite Commander XP. This will allow you to easily redistribute the skill points of the Commander or retrain the Commander of the Tier VI Cleveland to the new ship. The combat mission will become available for completion until June 29. Please note, this combat mission is not visible in the mission list!

Its only mentioned in the patch notes and does not appear in the game UI as a mission or personnel assignment.

Basically play 1 battle in any mode in the Pepsi and get 190k elite commander XP.
