I have one question. What incentive does an owner of a premium ship have to even buy a special premium ship offer now? After all, he isn't getting the full value at a discounted price. No, he is getting a package of lesser value at full price.

Anyone thinking in economical terms will see that this is a bad deal.

The only real alternative if you absolutely don't want to unintentionally offer discounted doubloons is to do like Steam does with its bundles and simply reduce the price based on how much of the contents the player already owns.

That way the player gets everything they paid for at the full advertised discount and WG don't need to cough up any doubloons they don't want to.

Maybe I shouldn't have bought 2 Clan battle packages with Alabama Harekaze and Prinz Eugen Just for getting the doubloons and 6 10 point commanders and used it along with the doubloons from the steam tlc bundles on the 50% sale on premium camo's. Sorry guys if I ruined it for anybody else.

Don't worry about it. I put zero trust in the reasons named as to why the change happened. It's just smoke and mirrors to cover the fact that WG is trying to be smart again.

 

There's a saying from where I come from "the miser loses twice" and you weren't miserly when you bought 2 of the big ranked packages. But hey, WG never learns.

You are not supposed to buy ship you own. Thats the point. You are supposed to buy ships you like and play them. Buying the ship you have is just an exploit that wg closed.

 

You were never supposed to buy ship you own to begin with, its just to difficult to remove this option from shop because store and server are two compleatly different things. If store checked what you have loading times would increase and that may affect sales. Also if you buy ship as a gift server would have to check recieving account and thats a problem, even from legal point. Imagine event when you want to check if someone has a premium ship but that guy made his account private. You just enter shop and try to purchare a ship for him. If You get a message that he has that ship WG just violated RODO. Good luck.

 

Everyone complaining is just mad that exploit has ben closed which in my opinion should be done 3 years ago.

 

I will save you the problem for witing for result of this change: People will complain, and WG will do this change either way, because its good change. After that everyone will forget about it and WG wont be cheated anymore. End of story, happy end.

But to close that exploit it would be much easier to simply no longer allow you to purchase ships you already own.

Removing the discount for the compensation is complicated. Both from a buyers perspective as well as the one of the selling party.

I explained why it is impossible. Store and live server are two compleatly different things. I have updated my post about gifting but you are quoting original one. Sorry for that.

 

Buying ship goes like this: Store sends message to live server and live server adds a ship to account. It is actually easier to stay this way and apply lover amount of dubloons because this one way comunnication of store ->server remains unchanged.

A very naive way of seeing things. WG has used the sale of doubles as a source of revenue for years, and they premeditated this by having doubles give doubloons instead of silver. The current change has nothing to do with closing an "exploit", because if it was an exploit it would have been closed long ago.

There will be no happy end, as WG's income will suffer since whales will stop buying doubles, players will be unhappy as they will see few good deals, and the whole community will again feel treated badly by the company.

My naive hope is that this change will bring along more reasonable prices and better and more frequent deals, after WG see their sales numbers drop. Which would be a good thing as it would be more transparent and visible to everyone, not just those who know about the 'exploit'.

 

But of course it could go the exact opposite way i.e. a real P2W.

Not badly. Just. People often dont see justice because they want to feel special. Better. Personally o feel like solid and clear economy is basis of good free to play game. Wg has decent premium policy. No need to exploit it.

We have it easy. WG learned its mistakes with world of taks and even now it is taking them years to repair it. Goldspam, now preferential matchmaking.

Everyone wants to play for free. But when companies with full priced titles are placing lootboxes in everything just be mindfull of what you have.

This is the most expensive free to play game I have ever tried.. I think I have poured at least 1500€ into this game. I don't call it exploiting a loophole. I call it self adjusting discounts. After all its extra revenue for WG

I expect a price hike and more changes to the detriment of the customer. Going full P2W is also a possibility, as WG isn't know for balanced decisions.

For a company shill you are hilarious. There is no thing as justice in business, only loss and profit. What WG is doing is trying to maximize profit and not close a "loophole giving an unfair advantage". What we as customers are doing is pointing out that they steering towards revenue loss, as their pricing policy makes their offers lackluster.

 

PS: The term RODO you used earlier is polish. Mind explaining it?

Poured 1000 plus € into the game alone in this year.  Guess about 75% of this had been buying bundles with stuff I already had on discount. Meaning € 750,00 I otherwise wouldn't have spent on the game.

Could you please elaborate in how you find WGs premium policy decent? Not only for me but for the general public.

Frankly I don't like this being closed for the reasons I already stated, but I do see WGs point of view regarding this getting something of common practice which may hurt sales of doubloons (despite my own reasons as to why this doesn't need to be the case as people will also tend to spend more ingame if they gotten the doubloons cheaper).

 

I do dislike exploits of all kinds (not just the gameplay ones) but I would prefer economic options to remain accessable for people like me.

I think i have bought almost all of my premium ships at full price in the webshop, because im an i*iot that wants to have them right away when they got released. So yeah, i did pay full price for most, and later on i saved money on buying the duplicates for doubloons.

 

Well, no more then. I have zero motivation to buy a duplicate in the future (why should i?). I just as well could buy directly doubloons in the exact amount i need. But those are on sale so rarely that i will hold off on spontanteously buying them.

 

No more "ohh nice, buy!" for me. If anything at all, it would need to be a good doubloon sale, including custom amounts. (doesnt need to be -50%, but also not -5%).

 

Yesterday i saw a "special offer" with 15.000 doubloons for 83€. And of course its a forced bundle which also has 25mil silver credits. I dont want those. And buying 15k doubloons alone for standard price is ~50€. So WG wants to motivate me to spend additional 33€ on something i dont want, and then i dont even save any money. Fantastic.

 

I sure hope a Steam summer sale or something comes soon, so i spend all my money there (even tho i dont play most games i have). Still better than spending it here.
