Does this mean we will get these ships ( Especially the Indianapolis) for free?

The majority of "American" containers will primarily be available as a reward for the successful completion of the marathon missions. Complete all the missions and you get Indianapolis guaranteed. The rest are RNG. You might get a mission for them in the boxes, or you might not. Just like you could've received missions for French battleships of tier 5-8 before and after the line was released in the gold of france boxes.
