thank you.

It's just one more day, but I'm eagerly awaiting how Dallas will be and what this new tier 8 operation is gonna be like.

Except the Dallas isn't coming in 7,5. The CA's are coming, but the CL's are not.

Happens to us all at times. Friendly suggestion: Double check the patch notes before saying stuff like that next time mate. ;)

Oh wait, I did read these. And after rereading what I had written, I worded it differently. I'm not even sure when this new tier 8 operation will arrive, got too much brain fog atm but I did know that wasn't gonna arrive as it wasn't on PTS yet (though I didn't see the Dallas on most recent PTS either).

I actually did, yesterday. I check it few times a day. I even checked again just an hour ago and found another button :etc_red_button:

You do realize you can edit posts to include more than one quote rather than post multiple times in a row like that, right @NothingButTheRain

Well, I will make an attempt to answer the OP's question - but don't expect too much. I just got the figures from the WOWS wiki.

Please point out any error that I have made - because i want to learn.

Comparison is of the top configuration of each ship, without captain, camo or upgrades
The armour model is not included, but I would be shocked if Cleveland is not the "tankier" ship.

Hit Points - Big advantage to Cleveland with almost 29 % more health!  (36,500 v 28,300)

Main Armament - Big advantage to Cleveland with better Rate of fire, dispersion and range(!)

Spoiler

Cleveland better:

Number of guns (12 v10)
Faster reload (8sec v 8.5 sec)
Shots per min (90 v 70.6)
Firing Range (14.63 v 13.3)
Dispersion (124m v 131m)

Dallas better:

Turret rotation speed
8 deg/sec v 5.5 deg/sec

Same:

Fire chance (12%)
Shell characteristics
Shell Velocity

Secondary Armament - Advantage to Cleveland with better Rate of fire

Spoiler

Cleveland better:

Number of guns (12 v 6)
Shots per min (120 v 60)

Dallas better:

NIL

Same:

Fire chance (5%)
Shell characteristics
Shell Velocity
Rate of fire
Firing Range (5km)

Anti Aircraft - Advantage to Cleveland with much better Long-Range AA

Spoiler

Cleveland better:

Long Range AA  (90.6 damage/sec v 46.2)

Dallas better:

Short Range AA (67.8 damage/sec v 46.8)

Same:

Ranges of Long-, medium-, and short-range guns are the same (5.01 km, 3.51km, 2.01km)

Medium Range AA (67.8 damage/sec)

Maneuvrability - Even

Spoiler

Cleveland better:

Rudder Shift Time (7.2 sec v 8 sec)

Dallas better:

Turning Circle (650m v 660m)

Same:

Maximum Speed (32.5 kts)

Concealment - Advantage to Dallas

Spoiler

Cleveland better:

NIL

Dallas better:

Surface Detectability (11.88km v 13.3 km)
Air Detectability (6.81 km v 8.1km)

Same: NIL

Just wanted to tell you that there's a site with a built in ship comparison tool, called https://wowsft.com/

In this case they already updated the database so Cleveland is a tier 8 cruiser.

PS: It also has a ship configurator allowing to experiment with different ship and commander builds.

That is a really cool site - thanks for the tip! :Smile_honoring:

However I just went to this page (https://wowsft.com/shipStatComparison)

but "Dallas" does not appear in the drop-down list of US cruisers. :Smile_sad:

The Dallas is still classified as Premium on the wowsft page. Try that menu.

You are quite correct! Good spot, and thank you! :Smile_honoring:

The only issue that I have now is that it shows the stats for the Tier Eight Cleveland in the drop-down list of US Cruisers, and the tier six version has disappeared.

(That's better than the people who run the site NOT updating it though)

All in all a very, very nice site!

yeah, I took a look yesterday

and don't forget, Dallas have 20.000 Hp less than Cleveland and it's shells are lighter than Cleveland's.

I don't know how all of this will translate,  I didn't get to see much in the WIP videos, the guy at PTS only managed to shoot down 5 planes but this is against other human player.

Worchester in the other hand, there's a lot of videos showing that ship drying out 3 cv worth of planes.

Dallas have almost half of AA long range dpm, can it shoot down 40 planes in Aegis?

things like tankiness I don't know it's like the Cleveland or more like a turd with 152mm guns?

I read your post in US cruisers topic and I decided to make this one.

But it's clear that what they did was nerfing 3 times over.

1 Cleveland in t8

2 the turd in t6 and nerfed (it should be at t5 to have a chance at all and out of my way)

3 Dallas not being exactly a Cleveland replacement.

But it's with Dallas that my hopes are and there isn't much information about Dallas

CC's all they want to know it's t9s and t10s

there aren't many videos about dallas

In the forum the main attention in this regard are focus in the same ships.

So about Dallas? Have you all played it, pls, leave a comment below.

thanks.

Dallas has some 7k HP less than Cleveland and shells for both Cleveland and Dallas are same, same velocity, same damage. Both ships are using the same guns and same shells for the guns. Only difference is reload time and turret rotation. If I'm not wrong even range is the same or almost the same.

Horse power.

Cleveland has100.000 Hp

Dallas has 80.000 Hp

May not affect top speed but what about reaction time/sluggishness?

Shells wise, forget it yesterday they had different mass between them but it could be from my sleepy eyes.

today they are indeed the same.

I'd be surprised if you'd even notice tbh. Doesn't feel like a couple of extra SHP (to use the proper term, Shaft Horse Power) is going to be that noticable in game.

Also pretty sure that the Dallas is a lighter (ie less displacement) boat, so she won't need as much HP.

My mistake, sorry. From what I watches her maneuverability is not bad. While her (fictional) engine has less power she is a smaller and lighter than Cleveland so there shouldn't be lot of problems.

Dallas, Helena, Cleveland shells are same, not sure for Seattle and Worcester but I think they are the same or very similar.

Dallas is not a Cleveland, she'll never be a Cleveland. She is weaker ship with average armament, average HP, average ... well everything. Still I'll give her a chance and see, who knows maybe she won't be that bad. Anyway I have to play here to get Helena, I never before skipped ship by using FXP and I won't do that now. I can complain/regret but I can't change anything. Tonight I said ferwell to my beloved T6 Cleveland, tomorrow I will see what new T8 Cleveland can do.
