Regarding USN Cruiser Tech Tree Separation

I've read the information provided here:

But I can't find any information regarding the XP that has already been earned on a ship. So my question is:

 

If I have 33’000 XP (unused) on my tier 7 Pensacola, will that XP end up on the tier 6 Pensacola or the tier 7 New Orleans after the update?

Literally 50 threads asking pretty much this same question before yours, and 2 previous linesplits (VMF & IJN DDs)

 

Captains and XP keep their place - that XP is on t7 in the CA line, it will stay on t7 in CA line. Same as your current Pepsis captain will be on the New Orleans not the Pepsi after the split
