I don't want to make a bug report because maybe this is just my confirmation bias, but my dispersion looks terrible sometimes (playing cruisers right now). Some salvos look like I'm not even locked onto the target, and I get straddles on targets at even mid range. This is not every salvo, just sometimes.

Okay, am I being silly or is it really not clear whether you can play the new Tier 8 Cleveland in the Public Test??

 

There is no mention of it in game and I've read the news article multiple times and it looks like you can get the new Cleveland from one of these containers? (Alone with other US premium ships like the Sims etc.)

 

To put it simple -How do I play the new Cleveland in the Current public Test!?!?

Ah yes, found the tiny line news post, thank you.

 

That needs to be way more clear the entire point everybody is playing is to play the Cleveland.

Simply put: What is even the point of version one if all there is to test is the missions?

 

I am surely not the only person around here that literally sees no point in even logging onto the test server till there is actually something to TEST.

 

Something that there is not, not really, at the moment.

Possibly they want people to research and own the current US CA line in orther to test the implementation of the changes for the split. It's the only logical reason I can find to justify that.

Except the progress gets reset between versions, in case you hadn't heard.

Apart from US CA/Ls there is:

 

  • US campaign
  • US collection
  • US captain (Halsey)
  • IJN captain (Yamamoto) changes
  • New spotting ribbon
  • Audio changes
  • Changes to penalty system

But hey, there's only US cruisers, what else could be there?!

They say that, but I'm not sure the last time that was true is.

 

Generally speaking I've had the same ships, the same depleted pool of doubloons (goes down fast if you buy permoflages), and the same inflated pool of Free-XP when I log in for Round Two as I'd had at the end of Round One. And they have had it that rewards have not reset between rounds, if you look at the news post for the 0.7.4 PTS (https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/PT074/) you'll see that of the four rewards two were reset for Round Two and two were continued from Round One and couldn't be earned twice.

 

So I'd not be surprised if when Round Two comes along I'll have the same ships, doubloons, and free-XP and also have the same progress in the campaign so I can't earn the special flags twice.

There's a bit of a bug in the "hit hard" campaign, the final mission for part 3 is to earn 30,000 XP whereas I assume for PT this was supposed to be 3,000.

Super disappointing that Halsey has red shell tracers, when everybody knows American colors are blue, so yea just wasted 4-5 hours grinding the new collection only to be disappointed by knock of Yamamoto Isuroko's red tracers... how hard would it have been to make the shell tracers blue...?!

 

Also i'm not a fan of the alternative camo colors for the american permacamo's, on some of them look good while others look worse than the original camo. Looks like the black and gray are mixed up.

It's still a bug, and 4-6 random games is still the better part of 2 hours play to get past it when it's supposed to be one game in random.

 

Also, what happens when the developers stick an extra "0" on the end of all the requirements for the live server and you end up with "earn 300,000 XP"?

Is there an arbitrary assistive damage number associated with the spotting ribbons? 5 separate games just trying to figure it out, doesn't seem that obvious, tried going for time using same principle of spotting as WoT, seemingly random allocation of ribbons, and couldn't particularly determine any consistency for damage spotted (30k spotted, 160k spotted, 1 ribbon difference).

I didn't think there was any spotting damage associated with them; the description on the news page says "This time, we're adding a "Spotted" ribbon. The new ribbon will be issued when you spot a ship that is spotted for the first time or gets spotted again after remaining undetected for at least 90 seconds of battle time." and they popped up for me before the ship I'd spotted had taken any damage.

I got kicked from the server while waiting in the queue and was unable to log back in. I kept getting Windows errors, so I tried the EU server and had no problems, even won a few matches. Later I tried the Public Test server again and got in only to find I had been turned pink for 3 matches due to inactivity in a match. WG should be able to tell when a player has been disconnected, the penalty was entirely inappropriate.:etc_swear:

No. (And now I'm saying this for 2nd time in a row) - how did you get on PTS without the slightest clue what is there?

 

As it was quite clearly said - spotted ribbons are for when the ship is spotted for the 1st time that game / for the 1st time after being hidden for at least 90 sec

90 Seconds definitely isn't working consistently, anyway. 

If you feel like it isn't working, please provide us with some footage so we can check. Otherwise it'll work mostly for first spots and then respotting if e.g. a BB tried to get back into cover and you spot it afterwards. 90s is the current value and we can always adjust it in case needed :)
