Hi guys.

 

Ive checked news blog and forum.

but theres no note stating what the 800 mb update this morning was for. It would be nice if you wrote "Update xxxxxx changelog"

New ships:

  • Soviet light cruiser Murmansk (USS Milwaukee) used by Soviets from 1944 till 1949 and then returned to USA.

Ship changes:

  • Some Japanese destroyers get faster turning turrets and shorter reload times
  • Fixed a bug that caused 1hko of destroyers most if the time if AP shell hit below the waterline
  • Fixed glitches in the scope mode

New maps:

  • Return of "New Dawn" map
  • An experimental "Ocean" map without any obstacles

Map fixes:

  • Superiority mode now adds 3 points per second instead of 4
  • Speed of capture depends on 2 ships only. Though capture points are distributed to all ships in area

Interface:

  • Credits after the battle are now shown without taking repairs and ammo in consideration
  • Post-battle screen now correctly handles torpedo damage
  • Post-battle screen now has a game logo
  • Added limit to how many 'special' symbols you can enter when creating a chat channel
  • Removed block of crew retraining for piasters button in case if player doesn't have enough credits
  • Removed block of buy button when buying Soviet ships using piasters
  • Now you can buy a ship without the crew
  • Link "report a bug" now leads to player support center
  • Now you can see the cost of removing your mods from the ship you're planning to sell
  • Fixed incorrect displaying of prices when changing modifications
  • Now you can see how many days of premium are left
  • Added a link for premium shop
  • Changed rates for map distribution

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented client from saving its state after closing
  • Decreased crash occurrences
  • Fixed crash possibility when exp transferring
  • Fixed crash possibility when clicking 'combat efficiency' (sorry if I'm wrong here, don't have English client)
  • Fixed crash possibility when researching of ships takes long time (?)
  • Fixed incorrect display of gun fire effects at maps "Big Race" and "North"
  • Somewhat improved bot navigation
  • Fixed incorrect behaviour of torpedo tubes when switching fire modes (out of range fix)
  • Fixed flying camera at the end of battle
  • Fixed bug when torpedo assist was still visible after ship destruction
  • Fixed incorrect display of slots after getting a premium ship
  • Fixed button of the previous ship in the Hatsuharu research tree
  • Fixed daily duty button

The AA buffs are pretty huge. As some examples, the Fuso's rating went from 28 to 40. Nagato from 20 to 34. Yamato from 61 to 67. Kongo from 14 to 30. and so on.

Not only battleships got the AA buff, my Mogami is now rated at 34. Seems to be a blanket buff.

Speaking of the Mutsuki, take a look at the turret turn rate. I'm pretty sure it was at 40s before the patch. Now it's at 30s for stock and 18s for upgraded guns

Regarding the AA increase, it is only fair for those ships that (during upgrades) sacrifice main armament like a whole turret for improved AA capabilities to actually get something worthwile out of it. However, if it is a blanket buff to all ships (regardless of upgrades) it might be a bit too much of a nerf for carriers.  Well, data will (or will not) show that, and testing that stuff is what we are here for, no?

You trade that for: lower profile, longer torpedo range.

Lower profile is nice. longer range? its use is debatable, since torpedo detection is good enough for the enemy to evade them completely. 

Better torps vs better guns is not something easy to balance. I guess devs keep tweaking a bit and see how that works out.

Yuubari have been removed?! I need to check it out. 

But this update may be nice for DD.

I hope the AAA buff won't make the CVs unplayable, I still havn't the Lexington. :(

I'd be interested to see what CV players think of this. So far seen a few raging about "carriers ruined" due to the AA buffs. Never played a CV myself, but as a BB player I would obviously welcome the change :teethhappy:

I was playing CV whole time but I will see now is it difficult to play with torpedo squad. Before this patch it was pretty easy to land full torpedo hit. :B

Really? AA buff? Lol... planes were already easy to deal with... it was just that there were too many BBs in game, and a bad ones... now cruisers even more useless... no buff for them, especially IJN ones??? As a cruiser user, planes were a joke to deal with, even on IJN cruiser!

 

So many BBs in game, every ship has crazy AA now, CV even less effective now so BBs even harder to deal with... other than with a BB... what is the use of cruisers again?

 

Now even worst idea ever, open map? Hope there will be a way to veto that map when the game is done... as a cruiser/dd player, i dont ever wanna see it, as game was already too BB heavy, and now its even more in their favor with these changes and now BB map too?

 

Strange where this is going... hope its just a change to check how would it be if it was like that... as its obviously horrible at first sight...

Totally disagree. Lets try it first then comment please. DDs and CAs will need to play more tactically and support BBs. No more hiding behind an island but proper naval combat. Bring it on.

I also really wish to do some "open (water)field" battles. Let's see how it works out. No more camping behind islands - oh boy, how often did i see cruiser/battleships basically camping behind island without moving even a bit...
