  • +14 AA on Baltimore
  • +14 AA on Mahan

 

The big question now is if that is only a AA score change or if they are actually better now.

  • Fixed a bug that caused 1hko of destroyers most if the time if AP shell hit below the waterline

I assume the higher AA score means better.

I.e. Mahan AA score changed from 8 to 22, which is 2.75 times higher.

I assume this to be noticable, once you enable AA during your DD gameplay. Shooting down a squadron will take alot more than 22, but Rcon planes should be done easily.

 

On Baltimore, the AA score was 50 and is now 64. -> Muhahahah, now you down 3x+ Squadrons during the Y-key period. :great:

Yeah, my question is if they only changed the way they calculated or manually assign those AA scores or if the AA guns are really more effective. After all the AA score is just an abstraction of how good the AA is, they could have only changed the way how they calculate the score and not have done any change to the in game effectiveness at all.

I was hoping for a fix for the Yamato armor. Maybe next patch :)

 

I was waiting for that too, maybe devs still needs to collect more data about Yamato... After all we're not that many that already reached Yamato in the first week of CBT :P

Can someone tell me why WG thought it would be a good idea to introduce a map with no cover, with the matchmaking as horrifically bad as it currently is? Tier 4 ships are matched against 2-5 tier 6 ships every single game, with no exceptions. How fun do you think it is to sail around in a phoenix while fuso's 1shot you and clevelands volley you down in 15 seconds while you try to get into some kind of range?

So any info yet on if they actually increased AA lethality, or just the ratings? Because so far, I haven't noticed any difference in the way I shoot down planes.

Yeah get rid of the massive World of Warships logo on the results screen, it distracts from the actual information there and it's not like by the time we have come out of battle we have forgotten what we're playing lol.

 

I hop that's not all they meant when they said they were going to change/improve the battle results screens.

I can understand why they want us to test a map like this.  After all most naval engagements took place in open ocean not fighting around groups of tiny islands and icebergs.  Personally I'd like to see open maps but much bigger than what we have now where spotter planes actually have a use, unlike at the moment with it's 'do I watch this choke point or that choke point ?' style of play.

I dunno if I'm being parnoid of its a bug introduced with the patch but I've had 4 games in a row where the Clevelands turrets just keep getting over pentrated or blown up easily by ohamas or lower tier ships. 2 of the matches reduced to one turret and the others 2 each game.

 

It seems to be taking alot of criticals rather easily, it didn't seem to be like this before the patch.

 

In regards to the AA changes, I'm noticing it quite alot, torp bomber squads which come in, drop at 2-3km will actually be reduced to 2-3 aircraft instead of getting away with full health which I felt was somewhat OP for aircraft.

 

I never had a issue with torp bombers and how they can sink you (you have to be pretty unaware of aircraft position to get torped) but for them to get in and out without taking much damage was really silly and not providing any risk to the CV player for sending in torp bombers or any aircraft for that matter.

 

It does seem to make the BBs alittle more durable for AA defensive and it makes the cleveland into a plane slaughterer.

 

Sorry to say but if any whining pops up about AA being to strong  its just silly, before CV players had barely any risk for sending in the aircraft bar the odd cruiser maybe running with its AA ability, but now you actually will have to plan where to move the aircraft and avoid cruisers (which have the class ability to mow down aircraft) and strategically bomb targets instead of a few clicks and afk to your next squadron is launched.

New ships:

  • Soviet light cruiser Murmansk (USS Milwaukee) used by Soviets from 1944 till 1949 and then returned to USA.

 

It's going to be hard to test a ship I can't play. Just Say'n.

Thoughts on patch:

*Wasn't there a different sound when you gave aircraft orders earlier?

*Ordering torp bombers still sometimes cause them to circle  two or three times extra before dropping even though there are no hindrances nearby. Lost entire torp bomber squads to carrier AA fire while they happily fly in circles a few times.

*World of Warships logo at end of battle is just annoying. 

*Increased AA capability means carriers just became a LOT harder to play.

 

*Good stuff: Cap rules are now a lot better, thank you

My client can't update, I have no idea what happened. It keeps crashing on 92% and I tryed to look at the firewall and so on but I can't see any problems at all....
