jfkennedy2 ∞ Beta Tester 12 posts 2,086 battles Report post #27 Posted March 25, 2019 Look who's back from the dead :D I'm here @CptBarney This is all interesting information @Necro_von_Cortex. I have relooked at the tech tree I made in 2015 and I've started updating it. @gizaman I've made two Destroyer tech tree sketches, one with the HMS Halland and one without it. The problem with getting the Halland in the game, isn't its guided torpedoes (which i think WG will just ignore and implement as standard torpedoes), but rather that she was built in 1952. WG says that 1948 is the limit.

Then i could get rid of the paper ship that fills the Tier IX void
gizaman Beta Tester 296 posts 3,981 battles Report post #30 Posted March 25, 2019 as long as it is somewhat like the real counterpart they can likely make some changes. There are a ton of swedes, Danes and norwegians that play the game. A tech tree to honor us would surely be appreciated. Think there are more playing this than wot. See a lot of them each game. Something tells me that Bofors, BAE et al might not want to let them loose in their archive. :)

Something tells me that Bofors, BAE et al might not want to let them loose in their archive. :) Standard Swedish military classification period is 40 years. 70 years used to be the period for information related to military intelligence, but they bumped that to 90 years recently. Documents more recent than that can be declassified anyway though (a declassification request is always considered on a case-by-case basis) - the difference is basically that before the standard period expires it's "may declassify", and after it expires it's "shall declassify" (unless the secretary of defense intervenes). Most of the information related to 1940's ships and such things is not likely to remain in corporate archives today, or if it does remain it's exceedingly hard to get access to (and I should know, I've tried). It is however easily accessible in the national military archives, and a lot of it has already been declassified. If you can read formal 1940's Swedish with a lot of military technical terms, help yourself right here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8bCDRcq9BVeeFpxYkNXXzJNd\HM There has also been extensive discussion of Swedish ships in past years on these forums; see for example this thread: (Or just dig through my post history.) There are also some pretty good threads on the US forums, see for example this one: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/179369-a-serious-case-for-göta-lejon-as-t6-swedish-premium-cl

And I know that this ship is never going to be added to the game but who knows maybe in the furture HNoMS Norge was a coastal defence ship of the Eidsvold-class in the Royal Norwegian Navy. Built by Armstrong Whitworth at Newcastle on Tyne, she was torpedoed and sunk by German destroyers in Narvik harbour on 9 April 1940. She was Built as part of the general rearmament in the time leading up to the events in 1905, Norge remained, along with her sister-ship Eidsvold, the backbone of the Royal Norwegian Navy for just over 40 years. Norge and Eidsvold were the largest vessels in the Royal Norwegian Navy, displacing 4,233 tons and crewed by 270 men. Both vessels were considered to be quite powerful for their time, with two 21 cm (8.26 inch) guns as their main armament. They were armoured to withstand battle with ships of a similar size, with 6 inches (15.24 cm) of Krupp cementedarmour in the belt and 9 inches (22.86 cm) of the same armour on the two gun turrets. HGKnetwork Players 30 posts 2,213 battles Report post #35 Posted August 8, 2019 HNoMS Gyller was a Sleipner-class destroyer commissioned into the Royal Norwegian Navy in 1938. Along with the other Sleipner-class vessels in commission at that time, she took part in protecting Norwegian neutrality during the Second World War. After initially serving in the far north during the Finno-Soviet Winter War, she was redeployed to Southern Norway, escorting ships through Norwegian territorial waters. When the Germans invaded Norway on 9 April 1940, she was docked at Kristiansand. After taking part in the defence of the port city, she was captured intact by the invading Germans. Renamed Löwe, she sailed with Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine for the duration of the war. Gyller was built at Karljohansvern naval shipyard and had yard number 125. She was launched on 7 July 1938 Gyller had four torpedo tubes, instead of the two which were standard in the rest of her class.
