You don't want to know that. Down that path lies the madness that is WG's design and balancing department. Although it should be said that the upgrade in question has already received a buff, it used to be the bonus to acquisition range only. Still extremely useless though compared to concealment. It could be used on ships that have such bad concealment that it wouldn't really matter if you take the concealment upgrade I guess (like Fuso for example), but to my knowledge no such ship exists. Make it so BBs can't see to their max gun range and they will face harsher choices than automatically going concealment. It gives you, 1) Much more reaction time with torpedos (because they will be spotted earlier) 2) will give more distance for AUTO DETECTION RANGE (basically you will see smoked up ships earlier and see ships on the other side of islands which are bigger) 3) will give you more distance to see ships. Remember spotted ships by other allies which you cannot see on your screen. Basically If you have a spotting range of 20kms, If you ally spots a ship which is 21Kms away from you, you will not see that ship on your screen. But If you put this upgrade, you will see ships up to 24kms, so basically you will start to see that 21km away ship. On the contrary most of the ships have very slightly bigger spotting radius than their gun range, like 17.8km range with 18km spotting range.. Basically this 3rd benefit mostly works for the ships who has spotter planes.. Ex out. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The 1st and the 2nd are the best uses for that module, but with the introduction of a lot of radar and sonar ships with better detection range now, those strengths are now obsolete. I agree, I used that module for my Hipper.. but now, I use concealment module for roon.. It is ridiculous.. 11.1km detectability with 20.4km firing range..
