Asashio - Just want to address the elephant in the room.

Possibly, if the lesson is to get rid of my partial dyslexia then no, that is not possible.

 

What I feel is that a thing like the difference in these deep water torpedoes is so drastic that it should be pointed out in big text on the actual shop page.

It should not just be hidden in the fine print in a wiki-page.

 

Because no where on the actual shop-page (https://eu.wargaming.net/shop/wows/main/8802/) does it say that these are not normal deep water torpedoes.

No where on the page does it say that these torpedoes only hits battleships.

 

If I had seen that part of information then I would have given it a second and a third thought before deciding wether or not to purchase this ship.

Keep in mind that I did read most of the wiki before purchasing this ship.

But with the vast amount of text on the wiki page, a lot of players skim the text to find the interesting parts.

Me, I have to skim it else I will not be able to read through it.

 

 

 

I will not ask for a refund.

Worst case I might sell it in game.

 

 

I just really think that a detail like that has to be clearly written and explained to the customer before he or she buys it ignorantly. 

So I guess this is feedback to WG.

Im not trying to be rude here, but did you start playing the game yesterday and just bought youreself a T8 Premium DD? Because if you didnt there is no possibility that you missed all threads in the forum or all the CC Youtube videos about this very special DD that can only hit BBs and Carriers? Where did youre interest in buying this ship come from?

 

And regarding you want to sell this ship ingame because you are so displeased with it?! Well ........

 

 

Also one of my first 3 games in it i got 217k damage, and you can also do a Youtube search on the ship if you want to se how "bad" she is....

 

But by all means, sell the turd.

In my opinion, a thread should be seen as a discussion, not just interpreted by its first post.

 

I can not recall ever saying the ship was bad.

 

I know I can perform good with it.

My first random battle with it gave me:

. Victory, with first place in the team by score.

. 1868 Base XP

. 129798 k damage

. 2 kills

. 3 compliments

 

If you had read the follow up replies you would understand why I posted this thread.

Range has nothing to do with it. The torpedo might be 500m from you or 20km from you - you'll see the same indicator

You can't be arsed to read the thread properly, but yet you come stomping in with your big fat ego and make a rude post that doesn't make any sense regarding the thread. And then you even try to blame it on the OP.

 

This isn't a SkyBuck thread where you can freely lash out at the OP you know. This is a thread from an OP that made a mistake, admits he made that mistake (which is so rare on these forums we actually should applaud him for it), and posts here in a nice and civil attitude to warn other not to make the same mistake.

Did it ever occur to you that not every single player is lingering on the forums the entire day? Did it ever occur to you that even regular forumites might be on a holiday or have real life stuff so they'd miss some threads?

What about Smithwick's? And (since I mentioned tourists) its more known relative - Kilkenny? Or more recent Carlow? All Irish!

 

BTW Guiness used to make both Ale and Lager (or maybe it still does?).

And also a bit dodgy that he says he didnt read or see anything about this ship but yet buy it at pretty steep price?! Really? Havent seen any video at all? No threads? Just goes out and blindly buys this ships and then blames WG for not providing any info (as you can se above) in the store?

Yup! I think i reached the point where i just need to face the fact that this thread is impossible to understand since it apparently isnt anything regarding the OP. And apparently the Wiki on the sales page that i had no problem finding when bying this ship doesnt in fact exist.

Yup, it still does. Though the lager is supposed to be "speshul" or something. Personally I prefer Smithwicks to Guinness actually. It is a lot smoother.

Basically what the OP wanted was a description on the sale page that had something like "it has deep water torpedoes - these are deadly to battleahips and CV, but will pass harmlessly under cruisers and DD!" Instead of a link at the bottom to a wiki page that only if you read through it do you notice the part about what the torps hit.

 

However, for the OP: WG has a habit of making the sales page as vague as possible. This is due to if they need/want to make changes then they cant have people trying for a refund due to the product matching the description

I guess the best comparison would be to imagine this.

 

Fictional new ship at the Shop Pages:

Sales Pitch: 
 

Here is the awesome new Premium Battleship HMS Ape

It has awesome AP Bullets.

It is awesome at killing battlerships and Carriers.

 

To read the specifications, go to the wiki (some link)

Then in the wiki you find that the AP Bullets can not hit Detroyers or Cruisers and it has no HE (no biggy on the HE part)

 

The question then is.

Would everyone actively look in the wiki for that limitation or would they expect these AP bullets to be like normal AP bullets?

 

Because I expected the deep water torpedoes to be just that, deep water torpedoes.

So I did not actively look for that limitation and I know so well that so many other players will make the same mistake.

 

Now for any late joiners to this thread.
