  1. Hi there ! I like ships. I make techtrees of them, historical articles, drawings, and even songs. This time though, I wanted to try something different and make my own premium ship. Therefore, I selected a destroyer today, Split (but you already knew that provided you read the title before clicking, otherwise you clicked on a random topic which is kinda weird, but I won't discuss that matter here because this bracket is strating to get way too wide), and I tryied giving her stats and a gameplay which would make her interesting to buy and to play. I'll be exposing the stats I chose and I'll be awaiting your opinions regarding her, if she'd be OP or too weak, if she'd be interesting to buy, and so on. Anyway, let's start ! Direction : Yugoslavia ! Premium Tier VIII DD Split (Yugoslavia/Pan-Europe) I/ A (very) brief histrocial explanation You probably haven't read my Forgotten Legends article where I talk about her (mainly because they're only available in French for now) but Split isn't the most unknwon DD of Europe and I've seen her mentionned a few time around here, namely in the European Destroyer Tree topic. I'll stay brief here because this isn't an historical article. Split was a Destroyer Leader, alone in her class, from Yugoslavia. The goal was to increase their destroyer force because the others were weaker and older ; therefore, instead of choosing to build several weak destroyers, they opted for a single Destroyer Leader. The comapgny choosen to draw her design was a French one, and based the hull on the French Le Fantasque class ; however, the Yugoslavs had the ship built by Yarrow on their soil, with components from a wide variety of nations (the guns were from Czechoslovakia, the Turbines and the Boilers were British, she was equipped with Sweden Bofors and had a French fire-control system. The thing is, the ship was only 50% completed when the war broke out, and soon enough, Italians had invaded Yugoslavia and seized the ship. The italians decided that they may complete Split (renamed Spalato) with their own equipment, and thus they redisigned her. Although work started, it wasn't finished yet in 1943 when Italy surrendered. Therefore, the still incomplete Spalato was seized by the Germans. The Germans, however, never even tryied to finish her and when they ended up retreated, they scuttled her. In 1950, Yugoslavia was free again and lacked warships. They remembered of the old Split and decided to raise and finish her. After a few contracts were made, they did get the unfinished ship back from the ocean, the United Kingdom provided the engine and boilers, and the USA provided the armament, fire control firectors and so on. Split was finally completed and she remained in service for Yugoslavia until 1980. II/ Why would you buy Split ? Sure, her story is interesting and kinda funny, but unlike Hood, Enterprise, Tirpitz and so on, she doesn't have the excuse of being very well known. So you may wonder, have I overlooked a detail about her that would justify a unique and special gameplay ? More or less. Split's specialty doesn't show in battle, but in the port. I like to call it "Buy one, get two free". Split would have three different configurations : her original Yugoslavian one, which would be torpedo-oriented, the Italian one, which would be a gunboat, and the final American one, a defensive/support one. At any time in the port, you could switch her configuration from one type to another. If you get bored from torpedo actions with Split, switch to Split gunboat and start firing hell on DDs and Cap Points. Offsense gets tiring ? Switch to Defense Split and support your allies, shot down aircrafts lay smokescreens ! Having three gameplay in one premium is a real deal ; besides, she'd be great for doing missions since she can be specialized in several fields, allowing her to be a good choice regardless of the type of mission to accomplish. III/Stats and short Gameplay-type Comments Disclaimer : the stats are meant to be adapted to the game. Therefore, some values may as non-historical, including but not limited to : speed and torpedo speed, firing range, reload times a\ Torpedo-mode Split - Yugoslavian variant Survivability HitPoint 16200 Armor Max 16mm Artillery Main Battery 5*1 (centerline) 14cm/56 Skoda Reload Time 7.2s 180° turn 25s Dispertion 91m HE 140mm HE Max HE damage 2100 Fire Chance 10,00% AP 140mm AP Max AP damage 3500 Firing Range 10.6km Initial AP shell Velocity 880m/s Initial HE shell Velocity 880m/s Torpedo Tubes 2*3 (centerline) 533mm Reload 70s 180° turn 7.2s Torpedo 533mm Maxdamage 16500 Range 9.5km Detectability 1.4km Speed 59kn Anti Air Defense 5* 1 Bofors 40mm DpS 35 Range 3.5km 4*1 ZB vz60 15mm MG DpS 16 Range 1.2km Manoeuverability Max Speed 37kn Turning Circle Radius 540m Rudder Shift Time 4.5s Concealment Sea Base 6.8km When on Fire 9.1km Air Base 3.2km When on Fire 6.2km Consumables Sonar (slot 1) Duration 90s / TorpSpot 2.52km / Ship Spot 3.48km Reloading 180s / Charges : 2 (Lo Yang-like) Smoke (slot 2) Laying 20s / Staying 89s Reloading 228s / Charges : 2 (Generic) Engine Boost (slot 3) Active 120s Reloading 171s / Charges : 2 (Generic) In Yugoslavian torpedo mode, Split possesses heavy 140mm guns, however, their RoF is very low making them impractical in close-range combat, especially against destroyers. Her torpedoes, however, are very powerful for tier VIII : although she only has 6, they have good reload, damage and travel rather far. This version also has the advantage of carrying a sonar (identical to Lo Yang's in termes of stats), increasing her defensive options against DDs. b\ Gunboat-mode Split - Italian variant Survivability HitPoint 16200 Armor Max 16mm Artillery Main Battery 5*1 (centerline) Cannone da 135/45 OTO 1937 Reload Time 5.4s 180° turn 18s Dispertion 96m HE 135mm HE Max HE damage 2000 Fire Chance 8,00% AP 135mm AP Max AP damage 3200 Firing Range 12.3km Initial AP shell Velocity 825m/s Initial HE shell Velocity 825m/s Torpedo Tubes 1*3 (centerline) Si 270/533.4 x 7.2 M Reload 70s 180° turn 7.2s Torpedo 533mm Maxdamage 17600 Range 6.5km Detectability 1.4km Speed 70kn Anti Air Defense 5*1 37mm/54 DpS 27 Range 4.2km 4*2 20mm/65 MG DpS 30 Range 2km Manoeuverability Max Speed 39kn Turning Circle Radius 540m Rudder Shift Time 4.5s Concealment Sea Base 6.8km When on Fire 9.1km Air Base 3.2km When on Fire 6.2km Consummables Smoke (slot 1) Laying 20s / Staying 89s Reloading 228s / Charges : 2 (Generic) Engine Boost (slot 2) Active 120s (Generic) Reloading 171s / Charges : 2 (Generic) In Italian gunboat mode, Split possesses large caliber (135mm) fast firing canons. Along with a way higher rate of fire, they also turn faster, making of her a great DD-chasing ship. Besides, in this mode, Split can reach 39kn. However, everything has a price : she does not have a sonar here, and only has 1*3 torpedo tube. Besides, the torpedoes travel at a shorter range, making them only defensive. c\ Defensive-mode Split - American variant Survivability HitPoint 16200 Armor Max 16mm Artillery Main Battery 4*1 (centerline) 127/38 Mk30 Reload Time 3.0s 180° turn 5.3s Dispertion 98mm HE 127mm HE Mk32 Max HE damage 1800 Fire Chance 5,00% AP 127mm AP Mk38 Max AP damage 2100 Firing Range 11.1km Initial AP shell Velocity 792m/s Initial HE shell Velocity 792m/s Torpedo Tubes 1*5 (centerline) 533mm Reload 139s 180° turn 7.2s Torpedo Mk17 Maxdamage 17900 Range 12km Detectability 1.4km Speed 66kn Anti Air Defense 4*2 40/60 Bofors + 4*1 40/60 Bofors DpS 60 Range 3.5km 4*1 127/38 MK30 DpS 30 Range 5km Manoeuverability Max Speed 33.5kn Turning Circle Radius 540m Rudder Shift Time 4.5s Concealment Sea Base 6.8km When on Fire 9.1km Air Base 3.2km When on Fire 6.2km Consummables Smoke (slot 1) Laying 28s / Staying 124s Reloading 228s / Charges : 2 (Benson-like) Engine Boost (slot 2) Active 120s (Generic) Reloading 171s / Charges : 1 (Generic) Anti-Air (slot 3) Active : 30s Reloading 171s / Charges : 1 (Benson-like) In American Defenser mode, Split only has 4*1 127mm canons. However, they're as powerful as high-tier US DDs ones, turning and shooting very fast. She's also equipped with a single quintuple tube firing powerful but slow US torpedoes at a great range, but taking ages to reload. Her speed falls at barely 33.5kn too, making a good use of the Engine Boost mandatory. Her main strong point lies in consommables and anti-air : her AA capabilities are excellent for a tier VIII DD, and she has an American long-asting smoke along with both the engine boost and an AA consummable. However, these last two only come with 1 charge, making abilities like superintendant and premium consummables import in order not to run out too early. So, how do you find Split ? OP or bad ? Boring or interesting ? Would you think about buying her or would you ignore her ? I'll await you opinions~

Fan made USN BB Split Tech Tree

Hi all My friend Seefelder and I have created a new split tech tree. This time for the USN battleships. I know there were made different posts about this topic some time ago. Anyway i want to show you the idea we got. At first we listed the missing BBs in the game. We keeped going and created a split tech tree starting at tier V to tier X with a premium at tier VII. At this point i want to share some thoughts as foreword. After the introducing of the premium ship Massachusetts with buffed secondary gun range and reduced maingun range we decided that all split tech tree ships will be brawler and get buffed secondary gun range and sigma and reduced maingn range likewise Massachusetts. All secondary gun ranges have the same level as the german counterparts at each tear. The AA range will stay at US level. I listet those stats below. AS the key of inspiration for the specific tech tree taste the Massachusetts is listed below too. I did not list the specific number of AA-guns. I only listed the kind of guns used on the B-hull and their ingame range. The Premium ship West Virginia '41 was announced while working on this tech tree. Honestly I dislike the choosen name. I would rename the premium ship Maryland so we can use the West Virginia with the 1944 refit. As these ships will be brawler we have decided that the A-hull for tier V to VIII will be the one after the corresponding 1930s rebuild and not the initial build. The only exeption is Pennsylvania with the 1941 refitted A-hull. The B-hulls of those ships will be the final one from 1942 to 1944 (after the attack on Pearl Harbor) with the 127mm/38 MK28 twin turrets, 40mm Bofors and 20mm Oerlikon replacing the former secondary and AA guns. For tier IX and X we decided to choose the planned South Dakota 1920 class Indiana and the Tillman I design that suits the two top spots on the tech tree. Both ships will just need a hypothetical rerit for being competitive. The amount of secondary and AA guns on the refitted hulls are not settled. I conclude the list with the premium tier VII. The Lexington class battlecruiser Constellation. We choose this ship name so Saratoga can be used for a other ship (...maybe a hypothetical future premium CV with the initial 203mm guns on it). We have not final decided if this ship will get the planned hull or a hypothetical 1942 refit. Maybe we can make two premium ships. One with the planned hull and one with a refitted one likewise the Kii. Thank you for your attention and please feel free to leave a comment below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ P. Suite et fin du Split des DD japonais

Salut A tous!
  4. I tried to look for information, but couldn't find any so please let me know if this has already been answered somewhere before. The test server patch notes for 075 note that the Cleveland will for a while be the only CL ship in the line, it's going to be a tier 8 and you will get it by playing New Orleans (T7). However, the news article on the upcoming US light cruisers has the whole tree in it, including T6 (Dallas) and T7 (Helena) and instead of NO at T7 you actually enter the tree via Omaha at T5. So. What happens if you're grinding to cleveland through New Orleans during the phase 1 of US cruiser changes, but don't quite make it before the phase 2 hits and you have a lot of XP on New Orleans you can't use anymore? Transfering all of it to Omaha might be a bit odd especially since it might be way too much for a T6 ship (Dallas) and what if somebody wanted to get the Baltimore (T8) instead and now all of his precious XP towards that goal is sitting at Omaha. The only fair thing really would be to automatically convert it all to FreeXP. Do I perhaps smell an opportunity here? Or will we get spoiled too much if things get overly fair?

    New orleans after cruiser split?

I have asked this question before about the clev and pepsi. But now I am grinding towards the new orleans. The cruiser solit is close as supertesters already have access to it. SO 1. What will happen to my ships if I have new orleans. 2. If I only research the new orleans and not buy it does the same rules apply. 3. Some tips for the pensacola I struggle in it :p

Fanmade Carrier Splitt (CV and CVE/CVL)

Hi all My friend Seefelder and i were thinking about the Carrier gamplay and came up with an idea, to split the Carriers in two new groups: light/escort Carrier and Carriers. This fanmade gameplay will come up with 3 full sets of CV / CVE/CVL Techtrees. USN, IJN and Royal Navy. The Gamplay would be like this: Light/escort would take the lead as supporter and hunter, while the Carrier would mainly strike. This means light/escort Carrier would have more fighters then the Carrier. The fightersquadron on Carriers will be reduced to 1 group. Airsplane configuration Light/escort: 2 to 3 fighters and 1 to 2 dive bombers/torpedo bomber (depending of its tier) Carrier: 1 fighter, 1-3 dive bombers and 1-3 torpedo bombers (depending on its tier) Techtree USN US CV Splitt (CV and CVE/CVL) Ship tier Tier IV Tier V Tier VI Tier VII Tier VIII Tier IX Tier X Ship Name Long Island Charger Casablanca Sangamon Commencment Bay Independence Wright Note CVE-1 CVE-30 CVE-56 CVE-26 CVE-105 / AP-Bombs Uptiered CVL-22 / AP-Bombs CVL-49 / Saipan Class / AP-Bombs Configuration 2/1/0 2/1/0 2/1/0 2/1/1 2/1/1 2/1/1 3/1/1 Hangar 26 28 (Original 30) 30 (Original 28) 32 34 36 (Original 33) 42 Ship Name Langley Bouge Ranger Lexington Wasp Essex Midway Note Downtiered Downtiered New Configuration 1/1/1 1/1/1 1/2/1 1/2/2 1/2/2 1/3/2 1/3/3 Hangar 26 33 76 78 95 100 137 IJN IJN CV Splitt (CV and CVE/CVL) Ship tier Tier IV Tier V Tier VI Tier VII Tier VIII Tier IX Tier X Ship Name Hosho Zuiho Chitose Shinyo Ryuho Ryujo G18 (Ryusho) Note Techtree Change Techtree Change CVL CVE 1943 as Build CVL Uptiered CVL Project CVL Configuration 2/1/1 2/0/2 2/1/2 2/1/2 2/1/2 3/1/2 3/1/2 Hangar 24 30 30 33 36 48 48 (Project 42) Ship Name Taiyo Hiyo Hiryu Unryu Shokaku Taiho Hakuryu Note New CVE New and to balance Downtiered New Configuration 1/1/2 1/2/2 1/2/2 1/2/2 1/2/3 1/3/3 1/3/3 Hangar 30 (Original 27) 40 (Original 54) 73 75 (Original 73) 84 90 (Original 82) 100 Royal Navy RN CV Splitt (CV and CVE/CVL) Ship tier Tier IV Tier V Tier VI Tier VII Tier VIII Tier IX Tier X Ship Name Argus Hermes Unicorn Furious Majestic Centaur Colossus Note New and to balance New and to balance Configuration 2/0/1 2/0/1 2/1/1 2/1/1 2/1/1 3/1/1 3/1/2 Hangar 22 (Original 18) 25 (Original 20) 33 36 37 42 48 Ship Name Eagle Courageous Audacious Illustrious Arc Royal Implacable Malta Note New and to balance Configuration 1/1/1 1/1/2 1/1/2 1/2/2 1/2/2 1/2/3 1/3/3 Hangar 30 42 (Original 48) 60 65 (Original 55) 72 81 108 What do you think about it.

    US Cruiser Line Split Question

Okay so I just researched the Cleveland before she's moved up to T8 in the US cruiser line split. I'm just wondering, when the Cleveland is moved to T8, will I get a T8 Cleveland? Or just a T6 Pensacola and have to research the Cleveland again? Happy sailing, Pagster123
  9. I was wondering while looking around about the Takao class cruisers, and after seeing the upcoming US CA split, will the IJN CA get their turn ? Because when you think about it, in the IJN CA/CL line, none have the possibilities to be an Anti-Air escort. Even fully specs on AA, they aren't worth it unless the defensive fire is active. Could there be a IJN CA split focused on this idea ? Because when you look about it, you can find some really interesting and existing ships, here's an exemple: The Takao class Maya, the 1944 vers, was pretty much a Anti-air Atago/Takao, one of her turrets was replaced by 2 turrets of 127mm that up their total count to 12 cannons of 127mm that counted as both anti-air and secondary. (Plus the 13 emplacements 3x25mm and 9 simple of 25mm type 96 auto as well) And she still had 4 turrets of 2x203mm as main battery as well as the torpedoes. And as for what either replace, follow or precede the Maya, you can find a lot of other class and altered classes to fit in. To be honest, i just took the Maya because it was a striking exemple of game viable CA wich has already two of her sisterships in it (If you count the ARP Takao), wich would really facilitate her implementation. I really want to hear about this idea and if that's something that could be implemented, anti-air based IJN CA/CL might really be a plus to this game. Pretty please ? x)
  10. If I buy the Pensacola BEFORE the USN Cruiser split what happens after? I know that the Pensacola itself will move down to Tier 6. Will we be provided with one of the new Cruisers at Tier 7 as well, as a replacement? i.e. after split will I have the Pensacola at Tier 6 and A.N. Other at Tier 7 or...?

    US Kreuzerbaum Split

J'attends vos remarques~ !

    new fubuki? questions?

so this has appeired on asias webpage http://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/common/japanese-destroyer-incoming/ im scared of the new 2nd japan DD tree split, i see they have moved the fubuki to tier 6 and will there fore give her some hard nerfs. now the bit that worries me is *they may* lock us to the C hull where we lose the 3rd turret which makes the ship *look* horrid. every time i see the fubuki in a film or game she ALWAYS has 3 twin guns and if they remove one off the guns... she may as well not even be a fubuki anymore also dropping to tier 6 means you will never get to 100-0 another careless montana player :'( and what about people who spent 4k on gold camo, will we get some gold back since t6 gold camo costs much less than t8 gold camo? fubuki is fine at t8, with torp speed nerfs and hp nerf she could be dropped to t7 but to drop her to t6 is gonna mean gutting the ship from what we love really hope a dev can clear things up ASAP
