  1. I don't necessarily mind if carriers are made to lose some more planes. Its true, sometimes I would end a game with more than half of my total planes and that is not very good. But lets turn to a carrier who's got a very interesting quirk. The Sipan. It main specialty is that it has tier 10 aircraft on a tier 8 carrier. But because of that the number of aircraft it can hold (about 27 if I remember correctly) with very small squadrons. Calculations when I bought it show that its suitability is 25% less in plane HP compared to Kaga, but it has about 25% more dmg than the kaga, plus all planes are very useful on the Saipan. How I played the Saipan was, at the beginning of the battle take out attack planes, predrop one squad so I have 2 runs left and go into battle, then, when they die take out another type of aircraft so I can have all plane types restocking timers work at the same time. That is the only way to make the 2 minute restock timers work. Against tier 10 AA ships it was already hard with me mostly doing runs on blobbed ships with only an attack run (2 planes when the rest I have already predropped). I am 41st on the leader-boards with the Sipan by average damage so this tactic of 1 run attacks worked very well even against tier 10 ships. It also means that through this tactic I was able to save a lot of my planes from unnecessary deaths. I got deplaned only once in all my 79 battles. Now, I get deplaned in max 15 minutes and that is by using the most conservative tactics. Let alone being up-tiered against tier 10 AA cruisers where this tactic doesn't work anymore. I come in with 4 planes and only one gets to drop. And to get that chance to hit 2 torps for 10k dmg I have to wait 6 minutes for the planes to restock. Now... I will always lose 1 aircraft at least on every single run. So in reality, I now have to wait 2 minutes to get a ticket so I can drop, cause I have to at least have 3 aircraft to go with. What was the point of this AA change? From what I see it was to make the plane kills more proportional to AA dmg dealt on planes. Which clearly was accomplished. But as I see it these are all the things that changed from this updated AA. 1. Plane kills increased 2. Price to pay for every run 3. Uptiered carrier is now a nightmare (a Benson can wipe out a Furious attack aircraft squad before it even does one run) 4. AA changes with no (as of yet) free respecs I don't mind loosing planes. I think that is normal to lose planes and if u play conservatively you should end the battle with about 25%-35% planes in hold. And if you are a bad player, you should be out of aircraft at about 15 minutes in. This should be when fighting against equal tier. I suggest make a variable AA defense. For example if a Worcester shoots at tier 10 planes, or planes of a tier 10 carrier, it does full AA dmg, if it shoots at tier 8 carriers an bellow, tier 10 AA only does 70% damage. That way carriers that are up-tiered don't feel like they are useless and would rather quit the game and play something else. Same could happen with tier 7 ships firing at tier 6 carriers, just the variable would change, and the ship can do 85% AA damage (both continuous and flak). So against same tier or +1 tier carrier, do 100% AA dmg, against carrier -1 tier than you, the AA does 85% dmg and -2 tier below you, the AA does 70% power. This is just an idea but then up-tiered carriers will feel a lot better and finally use and combining it with the AA dmg spread not across all planes like in 0.8.4 but across each run would be a good way forward for balancing carriers an make them killable but also fun. Also. If AP bombs are so overpowered, why not add a chance on AP bomb citadels? If an AP bomb lands on where a citadel should be, that bomb has a 35% change to citadel, or else its going to do normal bomb damage. That will eliminate most problems and finally bring AP bombs back from hitting cruisers for half HP with 1 strike. Like this, Haku won't be the uncontested best carrier just cause it can one shot cruisers with 80% certainty. The issue of the price to pay for every run is fine if you are given enough planes. I don't hate this update on the Audacious, but when uptiered or the quirk is that you have high quality planes but few of them, this update hits harder than it should have to the point that the Saipan is unplayable, and if you want to progress upwards in the carrier tree, be prepared for murder. Spread out the damage per a whole run, not 1 plane, nerf AP bombs by adding a chance to citadel on Jap AP bombs, and implement an AA variable to decrease the 'if I get uptiered I'll just exit the game' feeling. Let the AA feel powerful but not overbearing, let the AA kill planes but not be excessive. A carrier should be entitled to 1 run. If I spend 1.5 mins to fly to a target, I want to drop a full squad and then all my planes can die. This way, in 15 minutes I can drop 10 times and if I'm a good player I will hit my drop and get some damage. If I'm not a good player I want to be punished but at least let me do something. I don't play this game to be shot senseless and deplaned in 10 min even if I do my best.

Reworked premium CV sale - When?

Greetings folks. I could not find a solid answer on this one, so I thought to post one myself. Is there a SITREP on the sale of premium aircraft carriers Kaga, Graf Zeppelin, Enterprise and Saipan since it's been a month since the CV Rework hit Live already? A logical explanation could be that WarGaming will put them up for sale when the Royal Navy CV line will be released (along with their tier VIII premium CV "HMS Indomitable" which I'm very eager to open my wallet for.) My problem was that when Kaga got released I did not have the money available to buy her (RIP Shipfu) and when Graf Zeppelin got released I did have the money but it was awfully bad before WG put it off-sale and totally buffed her to the Heavens of Grognak. Kaga is still the one premium ship, out of around 60+ that I already own, I really itch to get into my port the day before yesterday, and I still regret I didn't cut down on my nourishment balance in order to get a Paysafe Card to get Kaga on the spot. The CV Rework has got my ears pointed as I like the way it's going, but I'm genuinely interested to know when these reworked premium aircraft carriers will be put back on sale. Please let me know if you have any usable intel! Let 'em have it! ~ Sirion
  4. Dear World of Warships team, It is impossible to ignore the amount of "this ships is op" or "broken" comments that the Saipan receives constantly. The biggest issue in my opinion is the way it can strafe out of a fight without loosing a plane and having the ammo capacity to do it many many times. That in combination with tier 9 planes just being faster and more powerful. And yes, a squad only has 3 planes and the Saipan does not have a big reserve. But a skilled Saipan user will be using the "Air Supremacy" skill for his captain and will know when to strafe out and not loose a plane. I opened a discussion in the forums once and submitted a ticket to the support center on this matter too: https://eu.wargaming.net/support/tickets/2191766 I believe by looking into either of the following suggestions that it would balance the Saipan but not really decrease it's overall effectiveness. -Don't give the saipan the ability to use the Air Supremacy skill (Or, if using the air supremacy skill, they loose the perk of not loosing a plane in a strafe out of combat) -Reduce ammo capacity -Reduce fighter's air speed -Cooldown for Straferuns Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that 2018 will be a great year for WoWs! -K4dy
  5. With the coming update 0.7.1 the following premium ships will be the only ones available for sale through the premium shop and the tech tree: Alabama Tirpitz Perth Kii Duca d'Aosta Lo Yang Leningrad Atago De Grasse Hood Yubari Sims Molotov Graf Spee Blyskawica All other ships will be removed, including recently unlocked ships like Albany and Makarow. This also means that this is the last time ships like Kaga, Enterprise, and Saipan are available for sale, leaving us with no premium CVs. In effect this is just a way to produce artificial scarcity and doesn't serve the player base. The reason why low tier premiums are getting the shaft is beyond me... Good job WG! Why allow people to spend money freely...

    I am sick of Saipan

I'm don't normally rant out, but WG had it coming. What the @#$% is wrong with you? You think Saipan is "Balanced? In hands of even a semi good player Saipan Shits on every other CV. Basically you're saying "sucks that you didn't pay us doubloons for Saipan, now you're loosing this battle. I don't care whether our team wins a battle or not, but air battles with an AS Saipan is absolute crap. Oh I see you have two fighters, would be shame if Saipan could just strafe and strafe and strafe without even loosing a plane. Oh I see if you're trying to send out CV strike on the corner of map because all other ships are clumped up, would be a shame if Saipan's 3rd fighter just zoomed at your position. Basically Saipan is a bully and what you're saying is that against an average Saipan you have to be very good, but against a competent Saipan well good luck to you. And WOWS community, I'm not happy with you either, basically its players saying that well if you cannot handle Saipan you shouldn't play CVs. Well, I'll try to explain one last time here: I have 58% WR in Ranger and 66% WR in Hiryu, against a competent Ranger/Hiryu captain I would love to loose that battle if it means that I would give him a tough time. Against a competent Saipan Captain when he would just roflstomp my planes that would leave me powerless. So there, I said it, Saipan is the most disgustingly overpowered ship in the game, it should be removed altogether or at least re-balanced. Thankyou for those who read this all, I know this is just going to be deleted, riddled with insults, or suggestions "GIT GUD". WG I cannot buy Saipan, even if I could that would mean I would be just CV sniping every game successfully. UNFUCK THIS SHIP!

    CV hra a mechanika

    Saipan Loves Patch 0.5.11

Decided to take a look at the Saipan after reading this in the 0.5.11 patch notes. "Increased American fighter ammo by 33%. This change makes their configurations stronger and shifts the carriers' struggle towards protecting their team."

    Invincible Saipan fighters

Hi guys so recently i have been struggling with my CV battles against saipan, they get the extra fighter extra bomber perk (so its 4 fighters not 3)and keep running from my fighters in battle (the ALT+ click ) and they dont lose an aircraft due to the rule that applies to it (doesn't lose a fighter because its base fighter squadron is 3 planes only) , they are invicible ! so is this intended because they are premium CV's or what ?
  11. Introduction This topic is entered in the game play section of the forum because it not only concerns Aircraft Carrier game play but overall game play in WOWS. The vaunted WOWS "Carrier rework" has been mentioned on and off over the past two years. During that time the current state of affairs of Aircraft Carriers in WOWS has not been significantly altered by meaningful changes let alone improvements. The only two noteworthy changes with regard to Carriers that have been implemented are (1) the new Flight Modes of the USA Carriers that was introduced at the end of 2017 and (2) the vastly increased number of new ships with very powerful Anti-Aircraft setups and/or Defensive Fire AA (for example ALABAMA, MASSACHUSETTS and the five new USA light cruisers). As a result there remains a virtual absence of meaningful WOWS Carrier changes to address some of the major Carrier related issues. The vaunted WOWS "Carrier rework" will in all probability not be implemented until somewhere around late 2019 at best, in other words it is a long term event. In order to improve the Carrier game play that currently exists in the short and medium term, that is in 2018-2019, some plausible solutions can be proposed and implemented to address the most serious issues for the benefit of both the opponents and proponents of Carriers in WOWS. This topic therefore aims to offers such possible and plausible solutions for the 2018-2019 short to medium term to improve Carrier game play from the perspective of both the opponents and proponents of Carriers. The solutions proposed are intended to be ones that can/should be fairly easily implemented by WOWS Developers with a minimum of effort and all need to lie within the framework of the current Carrier and general WOWS game play and game play mechanisms. In other words, the solutions proposed in this topic are NOT intended as radical solutions which are a full departure of the current WOWS Carrier game play and current overall WOWS game play. Instead the solutions proposed want to build on the strengths and possibilities of the current WOWS Carrier game play and current overall WOWS game play. The Current Carrier Related Major Issues Proposed Short and Medium Term Carrier related Solutions The individual solutions proposed in this section are to be regarded as possible solutions for the short to medium term to improve Carrier game play from the perspective of both the opponents and proponents of Carriers. The idea is to offer solutions that should be fairly easily to implement by WOWS Developers with a minimum of effort and that lie within the overall framework of the current Carrier and general WOWS game play and game play mechanisms. As such these solutions are intended to build on the existing strengths and possibilities of the current WOWS Carrier game play and current overall WOWS game play. Pacchetto navi US Navy

Aus den englischsprachigen Forum, die es aus dem russischsprachigen Forum haben: Ragweek, on 29 March 2016 - 12:09 PM, said: Just found this post on the US forum. Very interesting. From the RU forums: http://forum.worldof...08#entry2045408 Original text and my rough translation: USS Saipan will be offered for sale through the game client, via personal offers to all players that have 20+ wins, as well as at least one battle in a tier 5 carrier (please note, the the ship is not yet ready and not on sale; we'll have a separate announcement to that effect). We promise not to spam players with this offer, and will only extend it 2-3 times, with at least one week interval between offers. This is done in order to make the ship available only to players that know how to play carriers (otherwise they might be disappointing, and also piss of their teammates). If this experiment is successful, we'll continue sales like this in the future. Was meint ihr? Lasst es das Forum (und Wargaming) wissen . Mast- und Schotbruch! Justus Fire
  17. Hello fellow players, The support team has sent me in this direction after my last ticket reply. My question still stands and I was hoping that maybe there is somebody out there who can help me out here. I will be cheap here and just re-use my support ticket: I can certainly understand that it is impossible to predict how a game plays out, so I decided to focus my question on a pure mechanics question. Let's say I am playing a Hiryu and the enemy team has a Saipan with the "Air Supremacy" captain perk and the three fighter squadrons deck layout. The game starts as usual and let's pretend there are equally skilled and strong ships in both teams and they spread out into all directions so you can always send your planes over friendly ships. Let's also pretend that I lure the Saipans fighters into friendly AA range and then fighter lock all three of his squadrons. Here is where I dont know how to beat him because: The saipan can straferun away from my planes without loosing any of his planes while doing so and therefore, getting the fight back on his terms. And since he has ridiculous ammo due to Tier 9 planes he can strafe like 10 times before having to rearm. In the meantime, I can't drop a ship without loosing all my planes since the Saipan can catch my attack planes, take them apart and when my fighters arrive he can just strafe away again. So it is a constant cat and mouse and demolishing my planes until I either run out or the game is lost and no damage is done. In such a situation, what do I do ? Flamu explains this, too. So either Ranger or Hiryu (And Kaga, I musst add) is cought by this situation and no wiki or video explains how to use your advantages againt a Saipan due to them focusing on the "in general" picture. I hope you can understand where I am going with this and can not wait for a solution. I mean... there has to be a mechanic in the game that I can use here. Otherwise this Sub-category is pointless ?!? Thank you for any insights and technical replies, -K4dy That is it from my side. Many thanks to you guys for any answers you are able to provide! :)

Dabei holt man mal 3-4 max.
