Newport Station Operation - flooded with potatoes

If last time (before 0.8. patch) my struggle was gaining 5 stars , now I am simply astonished by the constant and high influx of really bad players, with no clue at all about objectives ( racing ahead then get caught by instant-spammed fleets of aggressive bots, or simply get killed right on start by T3 bots, or letting the first wave penetrating the perimeter then ending the game in next 5 min by that crazy full assault of all bots rushing full speed from al directions, etc) ; Its no consolation at all for me ending always top score on team if all I get its loss after loss, getting an pathetic 1 * or 2 * once in 10 games, as "last survivor"..... What happen guys, are no more decent players in Operations ? I am getting real frustrated here... I am now at the end of an (very ..) depressing, shameful chain of 9 defeats and only an pathetic win... getting smashed so bad by bots so humiliating.... No matter what I do, how many ships I kill, or points I score, I end-up last one alive cleaning a flank only to see other flank destroyed and bots rushing the base and deleting there all... Any advices ? ...
  3. We are an active casual and (semi)-competitive clan in the process of reorganizing (hence the semi) and we're looking for people who love to team up, play together and help each other in game or not. Good solo players are also welcomed. No pressure at all to our members, you play when you can and you enjoy the bonuses of being in a clan without restrictions. We have level 2-3 in almost all categories. Standard requirements apply. At least one t8 ship or better (just to be able to participate in CB) | 1,5k battles on random (but we can do exceptions) | normal activity etc

    Campaigns for T8 cv-s

Any plans in making current T7 campaigns open to t8 cv-s or making/reworking some of those pulled in that direction in near future? Its much easyer to learn dropping mechanics against bots and campaigns offer nice sorroundings to do that, currently we have no use for our t8 cv-s out of randoms and there its often bottom tier you end up as, whitch is hardly a good situation to polish up your technique. Frontier comes to mind as possible candidate, bots there were ever quite strong and bot ranger was usually more of a sidenote with bb and cruiser pushes beeing main source of peril, simply replacing the bot ranger with say aa iowa might be enough to make a nice t7 cruiser and bb and t8 cv operation?
  5. SD-7 (S.H.A.D.O.W. 7th Pacific Fleet "The Espada") is searching for you! Do you like to play World of Warships? Do you like to play World of Warships with others? Do you like to play World of Warships with a fun but mature group? Then SD-7 is looking for you! SD-7 is all about fun in the game; we do not enforce any join requirements, however we do have the policy that if one goes offline for more than 30 days he/she has to inform the flagstaff beforehand so we won't exclude you after we're full and making space for more active folks. Our primary focusses: * PvE Operations with tactics. * Divisions in Co-Op, Random & Ranked Sprint Battles. * Helping new, starting players get around the game much easier. * Providing a fun-only clan with active mates and no stat-walls to meet. * Last but definitly not least: FUN! Our secondary focus: * As soon as we have enough mates that are willing to participate in Clan Battles within SD-7, we will set up an "internal team" comprised of the players that want to play Clan Battles. Participating does not require any stats, but does require you to join our Discord server, understand basic English common sense, and certain activity will be expected from you. The players that are not interested in participating in our team won't have to do anything, and can simply ignore this and play on within SD-7. If you're interested, contact founder RADM "Sirion_" (me), or commanding officer RDML "GaCommanderGice" for more intel if you require so. Otherwise, simply apply for membership in-game. We'll accept anyone as long as we've got free space! Cheers! "Remain sane, follow the vane." ~ Sirion

  7. Force H_Royal Navy (FH_RN) is back and looking for salty seadogs to join the crew, it has been quiet for a while, but now back fully active and looking for active players. Force H Naval Base has buildings that give our players bonuses for their Captains XP and Ships XP from their games, that will improve more as time goes on, and will soon be fiving bonuses to coal for each clan member, as well as making buying your ships that you unlock in the tech tree cheaper to buy. You don't have to be superman, just need to have some or most of the following traits:- 1. Be active and playing regularly. 2. Be English speaking, as i have set up a discord chat server, to help in battles, and to generally have fun together. 3. Looking to team up with other clan mates, and when we have enough players, participate in clan battles, as well as other events as and when the are held. 4. Knowing which end of the ship is the front, is an advantage, but not a deal breaker lol. 5. Knowing what those things that go bang are for is also a plus, but again not a huge deal breaker. 6. Age is unimportant, just be ready to have fun and sink some enemy ships. If you would like to join a very small clan that is looking to expand, and help it to grow. You will get all of the benefits and rewards from being in a clan, and the more success we have, the more and bigger the rewards become. So if that appeals to you, then leave your details below and I will be happy to invite you to join Force H_Royal Navy (FH_RN) Give us a try, you know it makes sense. General_Montgomerie1966 (Base commander)
  8. Hi all, thank you in advance for reading this. I love playing Operations, but wish I could more easily find divisions to play non-rotation Ops. I also prefer playing Co-op, and doing my own thing at my own pace while doing the daily first battles for grinding, but happy to do that in company or by myself. I'm very active and play every day, but put my family first and so am often logged in but afk, and cannot sit down and play for hours on end. I'm active in chat but don't want to be *forced* to use third-party comms like TeamSpeak and/or Discord. I'm open to persuasion (and maybe a bit of encouragement!). Introverted social gamer! Hardly unique Ships wise I'm still a long way off from TX (have the XP but not the silver for Neptune), so if you're a Clan looking for another recruit for CW then I'm sorry I'm not that guy. If you're a Clan that has frequent Operation Divisions then I'd love to hear from you!
  9. I have a confession to make, I really like operations. It is a fun alternative to Random , Ranked or Clan battle at least for me and I would wager a lot of others too. Hopefully we can agree operation Dynamo perhaps is a bit too easy to play at the moment, many people outright grind it for cash/XP or simple playing through destroyers. Let me be clear there is nothing wrong on this account, it is mayhaps just too easy compared to the others. On that note we hit the main issue: difficulties of the operations. Operations has simply become too difficult to play and even just succeed. I know some maps were too easy before and bots behaving way too simple (just sailing towards the enemy), as result WG "buffed" the AI, which is good, don't get me wrong. Improved the difficulties of the maps but to a point where normal random people even can't complete the missions. One straight up need a team of random which is skilled and is able to cooperate or just hope for the clan is willing to play operations otherwise there is not much luck in winning them. I dont want the maps to be like they used too, heck no, too easy, sleepy even. I don't mind difficulties, but to a certain degree. I know the good players or those who entirely dislike operation probably will point out it is still viable or too easy. But these people simply in terminology lacks the ability to recognize and respect not everyone is great at the game, I don't consider myself good, maybe mediocre and I greatly enjoy the various operations, very much so thinking they provide alternative games/battles for those who are more PvE focused or just need a break from PvP snowball battles, where losing or winning often don't take very long, moreover even often with plenty/or at least ships still alive. So this is a humble request, to make operations a bit more fair, adjusting the difficulty just a slight, so even the common people are allowed, nay dare I say is able to just complete the operation with zero stars instead of losing almost anytime. Nowadays it's just not worth anymore to grind or play Operations random compared to PvP, where even on a bad day still provideth with greater income of cash and XP. Thanks in advance and a simple request, keep the language proper Yours humbly,
  10. Operation Ultimate Frontier is back on line, and boy, is it a change of pace from how it was when it was first launched. I can't recall ever having been so thoroughly trounced, time and time again, in any previous operation. But I'm having fun - lots of fun! I thought about voting on the poll that is already up on the forum, but the choices were to salty to admit a straight vote on my part. So I opened a fresh one. The first part of the operation, where the allied battleships press on from the northwest to take out the AA cruisers and clear the way for the plane corridor, and the allied cruisers/destroyers battle the enemy destroyers and dreadnought battleships from the southeast, is mostly a matter of doing things in the proper order. As long as everyone is careful about it, there should be no losses of allied ships at this stage. If one allied ship goes down, well, it happens, but if two or more are lost, then it's bad news for those who are left. Because the second part of this operation is no cakewalk. Enemies start to appear on all sides. Three light cruisers come in from the southwest. They are Phoenix-class (I think?), and can be taken out pretty easy with a little bit of team work and concentrated fire, but unless this is done fairly swiftly, their accurate barrage of high explosive can be devastating to any lone ship caught in the crossfire. Three destroyers (more if you fail to take out both southern destroyers in the opening phase), a bunch of cruisers and at least one battleship come in from the south. They must be met with a coordinated effort, or their massed fire and torpedo strikes can be hard to handle. The carrier Raptor appears from the north as a pain in the a$$ and a secondary objective. She's not alone, either, as she's flanked by cruisers and usually at least one battleship. She should probably be handled with decisive, yet well-timed action, and to be honest I'm not really sure how this is best done. The general recipe for success seems to be team work. And I can hear you all saying "D'uh!" out there - but I would say that in no other operation has success or failure been so utterly dependent of well coordinated team work. I have so far, in this present iteration of this operation, had one (1) completed operation with five stars. That was a battle where everything clicked. Everyone took just enough damage for their team without sinking. No one hared off on a wild goose chase at the wrong time. And no one camped like a scared sheep in the reparation point. I have also had at least one battle where everything went wrong. One battleship took a wrong turn at the start of the game and was lost at sea during the first part of the operation. Two cruisers split up, engaged superior forces on separate parts of the map, and were each sunk in a blaze of glory. And two battleships huddled in the reparation point like scared sheep in the pen while the last remaining cruiser (me, in the Fiji) sat blind as a bat in her own smoke cloud and waited for death... no one played very well, but it would at least have made an entertaining documentary. The sum of all this is that success in the operation Ultimate Frontier now feels like a true victory. It takes skill and effort. And to succeed with five points is something to be justifiably proud of. This, to my mind, is basically a good thing. An operation should always present a challenge. And while it would obviously be a bad idea to make the difficulty level prohibitively hard, I feel that it is usually better to keep an operation a bit more challenging than to go to far in the other direction. If it becomes totally routine, then it quickly becomes boring. On this note, I am looking forward to see how Wargaming intends to implement the 'Hard Mode' in operations. This opening post got to be quite a bit longer than I had planned; sorry about that. Anyway, I am curious to hear what you all think. How do we best handle this operation as it is now? And if it is felt to be too hard in certain stages, how might it be changed for the better?
  12. When I played the 'Operation Killer Whale' some time ago, I found myself - to my surprise - sailing in a team with one Anthony and two Cyclones. Needless to say, they didn't do very well - they sank in the first two minutes of the battle. Being to all practical purposes three ships short of a full task force, the rest of us didn't do too well either. I don't really know what to make of this. To begin with, I hadn't realized that the Anthony and the Cyclone could be used in any operation other than 'Dunkirk'. And even considering that this seems to be possible, why would anyone choose to do so? I would regard them to be eminently underqualified for any other task than 'Operation Dunkirk', for which they were - as far as I understand it - specially designed. The lure of getting a bunch of free Commander Xp from those two 19-point captains might be a reason, I guess, but since this means that you get those xp at the expense of crippling the game for the rest of the players on the team, it would not be reason enough to make me sail them. Or am I missing something, here? Confused in Killer Whale

    Questions about operations

Hello there everyone, Question one : As much as I love PvP (as frustrating as it is to be bested by other players or gratifying to best them in battle), I love also PvE operations (and for that I thank Wargaming "narrative" and level designers), even with their pros and cons and even if they are not randomized amidst the spectrum of them all (i.e. obligation of the week operation and not possible to do others without at least 4+ players in division). And I heard (and there is a button for it on the operation screen) there will/should/would be (?) hard-mode operations for those already in existence, i.e. tier VI operation would be tier VIII in hard mode (hoping the tier VII operations will have a Tier IX hard mode). Question : is it still in project to implement hard mode? Question two : Why is the Naraï operation out of service (hope not permanently)? Question three : Are there any plans to design bigger and longer operations for real semi-historical nuts like me, as they are making by example in Armored Warfare or Star Conflict - i.e. a three-part operation with prerequisites and different ships, etc...? Question four : Are there plans to re-implement Dunkerque operation? Question five : Are there plans to put the Halloween operations permanently in another kind of shape and form to profit of its beautiful creativity more often? If I have other questions, I'll ask them. Thanks for reading and hope to have some answers :) Starkadd, commander-in-chief of the ADML

  15. A quick poll to see what people think of the current MM allowing games in Ops with 3 DDs (possibly more, not seen that though). Clearly this does not affect Hermes or Cherry Blossom. I accept that DDs can be very viable in Ops, played well - I've carried many myself in one. But that doesn't change the fact that I facepalm when loading in and see 2 or even 3 on the team list. The team is already down a vast number of HP when that many get added, especially if they replace BBs and especially if we ALSO get a CV. Opinions?

    Ultimate frontier ruined

Well, after some numbers of ops played (around 40) I find that ultimate frontier it's ruined, unplayable. the bots are too strong. they hit fast, hard and in numbers and the teams simply can't coup with that. before, 3 stars wins were the exception, now the rule it's no stars at all, some games are lost as soon as the Pensa bot kills all the planes, don't remember such a thing before. so, @MrConwayand others.
  17. hi im looking for a social clan to join to play mainly operations and Co-op and play in divisions, i dont feel comfortable in PvP but maybe i will get into CW later. i prefer Discord over TS. i have 1 T7 non-premium

    Not getting rewards from operations

I competed the ultimate frontier with 4 stars and i did not receive the rewards. After completing the operation i entered the inventory and i did not receive the rewards for completing the operation with 4 stars. This also happened with the Aegis operation which i completed with 4 stars and did not receive the Russian captain awarded for that level of completion
  19. Hello, last update restricted Operations to T6 only. I consider this change completely unnecessary (as in - "fixing" stuff that wasn't broken in the first place) and actually detrimental to the Operations as a whole and I hope it'll be reversed. As for possible reasons for this change that I saw on this and NA forums, or Reddit, and my opinion on them: T5 ships are useless / drag the team down - sure, raw numbers help some, but player awareness (I'm saying awareness, not skill) plays a much larger role than tier of the ship they're in. A good player in Omaha is more valuable than a clueless one (who wouldn't help even if he were driving a Yamato). The main issue is more class-based than tier-based, so I elaborated on that below. The Operation was lost because I was the only T6 - see the above point. Also I'm not quite sure how exactly the matchmaker for operations works, but I'd guess the opposing ships are picked dynamically based on your team makeup, and should thus easily adapt to the tier of your team. And if not, limiting the T5s to <50% of your team ought to be a fairly easy tweak of the matchmaker. The Operation roster was full of Dunkirk destroyers - this is the only one I agree with, but even then - the main issue is that event ships are balanced for their event, not for general play - and thus shouldn't be usable outside that event. Regarding the class issues: T5 BBs - have no problem, and in some cases (like the Kongo or König) are actually preferrable to their successors. Texas and New York might have issues due to their speed and reload time, but the Arizona and New Mexico offer no improvement in those areas. T5 cruisers - have no problem, given that rapid firing CLs are the most effective class in Operations. Actually in my opinion the worst cruiser to pick for an operation is a premium T6. T5 DDs - Operations in general are DD unfriendly, so for some operations you are a dead weight if you pick any DD. And for others, being in a T6 DD doesn't offer any improvement, unless there's a big quality jump in the line (like T22 -> Gaede, or perhaps Mutsuki ->Fubuki), and even then it's minor. T5 CVs - struggle due to the removal of manual aim and strafe, not because the ships themselves are in any way inferior. Most target ships are T3-T5 anyway, and the biggest threats AA-wise are the odd Aobas and Myokos. The possible fix there would be reintroduction of manual aim and strafe to PvE. Just my €0.02.
  20. Hey all, It's been a while since I've been active on the forums, but I have been playing a little WoWs lately in between all the other things I've got going on. I'll been playing the hell out of the operations and have been noticing a disturbing and reoccurring action by a tiny minority of players - I have searched for this topic but couldn't find it - happy to be directed. I've been playing Op Killer Whale a lot and have had a number of battles where we reach 5 stars and when this happens, one player per battle seems to do everything they can to cause a defeat right at the last second by sailing out of the exit point. This morning alone I've had a 5 star defeat because one sailed out at the last moment, after sitting perfectly still on the edge. Again just before deciding the write this, a Warspite turned away from the exit and sailed away. We were only saved at the last moment but a heroic Graf Spee Captain (Juvenis80 - hero! ) who sailed into some torps and snatching victory back in the last 5 minutes. I just wanted to know how common this situation is among the community. I surely can't be the only one? It's exceptionally frustrating that the whole team puts effort into working together and that one person has the power, for whatever reason to screw it all up.... thoughts?

My first impressions of New Operation

Well, I can say that I don't like the map, way too many islands, the first one, a big one in the bottom map shouldn't be there at all, Open water would be better. Second I don't have the slightest idea what I'm doing there, what to do, etc. the only video I saw so far was one made by Jingles and what I saw there has nothing to do what I experienced so far, others youtubers must be asleep, or distracted. T7 ships, I don't play them for a while now, and did just a few battles in them before I turned to t6 again. they suck, they are slow, have bigger guns that they should, what a difference, from what I've been playing. My stock Myoko with a captain in the red, it's the worst one, the guns are so slow to do everything (I loose interest quite easy) , nice HE, thou. my best score so far was around 40k (2 battles) Algerie, well slower than LaGal, didn't liked it very much either(lost some focus, too), my best score so far was around 40k (2 battles) (fully upgraded) The "Turd", well, still the "Turd", still don't like the guns, shoot ap against everything but dds, my best score so far around 40k or 50k (2 battles) (fully upgraded). My stock Shchors with a captain in the red, was the best one so far, agile from the get go, fast guns, my best score so far, 140k in my second attempt . Need two or three shchors per game, thou, I always need to do a pit stop at the "gas station" to refill it with hp again. I know, I know, I got to get used to t7 again but, what a difference they made to t6 ships . Surely the nations represented in game had or have CL's to fill tiers higher than t6, US alone wouldn't be enough. The new patch, well, I didn't see one after battle score once, even in random the game it's always or almost always disconnecting from the server. Still haven't the slightest idea what to do in there, etc. The operation itself could be very good overall, once I get my bearings in there.

    Please Restrict Destroyers

OK title is a little Click bait. But wargaming can we restrict DDs in Ops to lets say 1 the same as CV. Everyone knows Cruisers are the best for Ops and BBs are needed to tank. CV can be a great asset. But DDs can do very little in most operations. (Some DDs are an exception but..) Get a match with 2+ DD you just do not have the DPM to complete the mission
  24. Hello everyone, with 0.6.14 we get an operation that's neither for T6 nor is it tied to an event like Halloween or Dunkirk.. What will that mean to the operation of the week rotation? Will it take another slot in it (so you get T6-T6-T6...-T7-repeat) or will the T7 ops eventually (once there are enough of them, say 3-4) have a rotation of their own? I'd imagine having them separate might cause issues on lower population servers like SEA, but it'd be a nice thing to have, so maybe per server settings might help here.. Also, are there any plans to let T5s back into either the T6 ops with limitations (like no T5 CV, and maximum of 3 T5s), or let them have ops of their own? Even a dumbed down variants of current T6s with lower tier opponents would be appreciated..

    OPERATIONS, PREMIUM SHIP

Well, killer whale it's here again. (my favourite operation) and a tough one, the time it's too short, to do it all. I've got Omaha, Emile, Furutaka, Cleveland, La Galio something and Aoba, Since I don't have any more lines eligibly for operations, which premium ship (t5 or t6) you recommend? No dds, cvs, or bbs. Thank you.
