  1. Finally! My latest fork on this scheme. Proposal for full European tech tree! There were many unique destroyers in Europe. It would be nice to see them in large numbers in the game. Having only 4 nations, mostly with Swedish destroyers in the game, is not the solution. Also, it is not a solution to put 10 British and 10 American destroyers that those nations used. Only the British and American branches would be copied as was done with the Pan-Asian Tech Tree. We would have too many Jervis, Lightning, Fletcher and Gearing destroyers (The exceptions are the Greek destroyers T9 and T10, as well as the Polish premium destroyer T8). That is not the solution. The goal is to bring many different ships into the game, and European nations had unique destroyers, such as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the Netherlands and Poland (and Sweden, which has already been inserted). I had a lot of destroyers, a lot especially for tiers 4-6, but this is compromise solution. I compared Burza with Bourrasque, so it's in that place. But, in my opinion, the proposal is really good.
  2. Hello captain, because this forum is in English this recruitment text is also. Below you wil find the Dutch translation (although almost everyone speaks English now a days ) Royal Netherlands Digital Army (RNLDA) is a Dutch clan and we are looking for Dutch players. We are looking for al sorts of players to strengthen our ranks. We accept new players as wel, because we remember how it felt when we started playing. Maybe you are somewhat insecure, don't have high tiers yet, looking for tips on gameplay and ship tactics. Or you are that seasoned player who wants to be in an active clan, playing foor the win, but also want to share your knowledge en experience with the newbies. No matter if you like to be bold and brawling, like to hunt and scout in a Destroyer (DD), you want it a bit slow but hitting hard with big guns from a Battleship (BB), or like to attack long distance from an Aircraftcarrier (CV). As long you are willing to play in a team, as a team and win with the team, you are welcome. And off course we want players who love Cruisers (CA) also We use Discord for voice communication (mandatory in teamplay) Interested? send me a message in game for an invite or send a application. Hope to see you soon in our fleet. McHook

    Norway WW2 Cruiser Frøya

The minelayer HNoMS Frøya was built for the Royal Norwegian Navy by the naval shipyard in Horten during World War I, with yard number 108. A fast ship for her time, she was kept in service until the German invasion of Norway in 1940. At some point between her commissioning and 1940, a 76 mm gun was added to her armaments. Frøya was the first purpose-built minelayer commissioned into the RNoN. At the time the Germans invaded Norway, Frøya was underway from Finnmark to Horten naval base in the Oslofjord, and on 8 April she anchored at Brekstad harbour at Ørland at the mouth of the Trondheimsfjord. Due to bad weather Captain T. Schrøder-Nielsen was reluctant to cross Hustadvika bay on with the ship's full load of mines and had sought shelter at Brekstad overnight. When, on the morning of 9 April, the German assault came, the crew of the Frøya observed the intruding German warships making their way to Trondheim. Trapped in the fjord, the decision was made to move the minelayer into the nearby Stjørnfjord. In the Stjørnfjord Frøya repeatedly came under attack from both land based artillery and Luftwaffe bombers. On 13 April Captain Schrøder-Nielsen decided all hope was lost and, refusing to let his ship fall into German hands, he ordered her scuttled. After removing some equipment and Frøya's load of mines for possible later use the crew of Frøya rammed their ship at great speed ashore at Søtvika, opened the ship's valves and at 12:30 fired explosive charges, demolishing her. Shortly after being scuttled the wreck of Frøya was discovered by Kapitänleutnant Wilhelm Rollmann of the German submarine U-34. As the U-boat captain believed her still to be salvageable for the Norwegians the submarine torpedoed Frøya, blowing the stern off the already wrecked minelayer. Norway WW2 Destroyer Gyller

HNoMS Gyller was a Sleipner-class destroyer commissioned into the Royal Norwegian Navy in 1938. Along with the other Sleipner-class vessels in commission at that time, she took part in protecting Norwegian neutrality during the Second World War. After initially serving in the far north during the Finno-Soviet Winter War, she was redeployed to Southern Norway, escorting ships through Norwegian territorial waters. When the Germans invaded Norway on 9 April 1940, she was docked at Kristiansand. After taking part in the defence of the port city, she was captured intact by the invading Germans. Renamed Löwe, she sailed with Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine for the duration of the war. Gyller was built at Karljohansvern naval shipyard and had yard number 125. She was launched on 7 July 1938 Gyller had four torpedo tubes, instead of the two which were standard in the rest of her class. Naval Aviation containers

I think there is something bugged with the containers, the last NINE I have opened are all Fairey Barracuda duplicates, the first two today ?? Fairey Barracuda duplicates again - now 11 in a row of the same duplicate - thats more than chance WG that's a problem. These are not purchased containers - just earned ones.

    Freedom Containers, Level 4, Missions.

EDIT, _________________________________________________________ As answered in the thread, the chance for missions was removed, so anyone stumbling upon this thread, you wont get missions from Freedom Containers. My problem was that I watched Youtube videos of these containers being opened, saw each and everyone one get missions with far lesser quantities, they also mentioned the missions themselves was not in the description of the item. So I naturally and completely logically as a new player who as entirely expected did not thoroughly read every patch note before him, got those containers with the expectations to receive the same rewards, I did not, the chance were removed. I'm fully aware that it is far-fetched of me to expect them to have considered this scenario, it was just after all an UNFORTUNATE situation, so I will recommend a small description to be added notifying any future costumers of it. As it so happens I'm a first time costumer in WoWS and hopefully my feedback will be helpful. _________________________________________________________ OP, Hello, I was gifted some $$ by a family member to help boost my start in our World of Warships adventures, among them 25 Freedom containers, few problems, but it's late so I thought I'd turn here for some guidance. It was mentioned to me they should contain a chance at some missions for Ships of various tiers and classes, having nothing better to do this late I opened them. To my dismay as I opened container after container I did not see a single mission. I understood later that I needed to progress my "Level" to use the other items which is fine, but fact remains not a single mission was to be seen in those containers, from my googling adventures it seems they should have a pretty high chance to "drop". So I'm wondering, by opening them at such a low level (level 4) did I inadvertently reduced my chance of getting the missions to zero? All the best Hanikamu

    Random English destroyers

A new event is always welcome and it is a thing that will spice up the game. The way it is implemented though ,i find it,faulty. Giving random tier dd is a minus to anyone who will get it (if he will get it).You give an advantage to random players by luck!So what happens if someone does not get the tier 8 dd?Why should he stay behind in research? I think there should be a timeline where EVERYONE gets just one tier the lowest so the advancement will be equal for all.

    Iowa AA is missing

I have observed long ago that Iowa is missing a ton of Oerlikon mounts, by the end of the War she had 19 quad Bofors mounts and 52 single Oerlikon mounts, however in the game once you hit C hull, she only has 32 dual Oerlikon mounts. I ask why? The Alabama has the exact number of 52 single Oerlikon mounts and they're great just the way they are, so why doesn't Iowa boast the same historically accurate loadout that the Alabama does? Iowa is missing: -2 Oerkilon mounts on her bow -2 Oerlikon mounts directly fore of her foremost two Bofors mounts, just in front of Turret #1 -3 Oerlikon mounts on top of Turret #2 -2/2 Oerlikon mounts on each side, 1/1 just behind 5" guns 51 and 52 (her foremost dual 5" mounts) For those that do not know, on the NC-class, SoDak-class and the Iowa-class, their 10 5" mounts were 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 on her starboard and 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 on her port side, ie: 51, 52, 53, etc. the 5 indicating the caliber of the guns. And 1/1 Oerlikon mounts just fore of the two lateral Mark 37 gun directors on the two sides of the front funnel -9 Oerlikon mounts just aft of her #3 Turret Alabama's AA layout has been rendered in a historically accurate manner, Iowa's should be as well.

    American battleships' Gun Director bug

Why do the Mark 37 gun directors (4 can be found on most battleships and on destroyers like the Fletcher, Benson, etc.) on American battleships turn with the main batteries? The Mark 37s guided the dual purpose 5" guns. It was only the Mark 38s that guided the main batteries (the ones on the two highest points of US BBs: can be observed on Iowa-class, Montana-class, North Carolina-class, South Dakota-class). Wargaming only got the Alabama's directors right as they don't turn with the main batteries, only the Mark 38s do. Although it would be cool if the Mark 37s did turn with the Mark 28 5" dual turrets on BBs.

    HNLMS/RNLN De Ruyter

HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën-Class Light Cruiser Completed for the Royal Netherlands Navy in 1953 as HNLMS De Ruyter (C801) For in the game, I think De Ruyter needs something special (Surveillance radar II) -> 11,7km with a 30 seconds duration. The dutch navy was and still is one of the best radar producers on the world. I see the ship for Tier 7 maybe 8. It has 4x2 152mm main armament, AA is decent. Construction: General characteristics: Some Pictures of the beauty: Will be glad to see this beauty in-game with a new nation :) Greetings,

    Alabama bug

I possess the American Tier 8 Premium battleship, the USS Alabama, I have played many many games with her seeing as how it's my favorite ship inside and outside of the game. I have observed that the forward and aft Mark 37 Fire Directors do not turn with the guns towards the target as they would on other battleships like the North Carolina, Iowa, etc. It's a small graphic issue, but it has been bugging me for quite a while. I hope that this issue will get a fix.
  14. Is there a book or any source material on what the Royal Navy thought of the South Dakota and the Alabama while they were attached to Home Fleet?

  16. Welcome to the Roman imperial Navy. Contrary to historical strategy, we will not be ramming and boarding like Quinqueremes or Triremes, instead we use the modern and civil armament of high caliber cannons and torpedoes! Accepting anyone from Tier IV to tier X, if you're wanting to learn the game or participate in clan/ranked battles its up to you! Discord link available upon recruiting. Simply search ROMIN in your clan tab and you should be able to apply! GreydonIselmoe

    Historicle German Navy camuflage

Dear Wargaming-Support,dear World of Warships Development,I'm a huge fan of Worls of Warships and I'm very exited about your game - since the day WoWs was official released for all players. Even in my leisure I'm very interested in the secound World War at Sea and especially in the german Battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz. After I was very busy with these two ships I found out with some historicle pictures in my different books about Bismarck and Tirpitz that there are some points in World of Warships that are not correct in case of the history of these ships. (I will show you these points with some historicle pictures that I've scanned out of my books) and I would like to show you these things so you or I can edit it and make WoWs bether :)First thing that I've found out is that there are no evidence that the top of the turrets on the both Bismarck paintings for it's last battle was yellow. There are no photos wich support these theroy and on the wreck of Bismarck - the Top of the turrets was dark grey. So I would like to change that in the game. Secound, the former heck was not painted dark grey and the painted waves in white were removed with the former camuflage in Norway. There are multiple pictures that prove that. So I would like to correct this. Secound, the Prinz Eugen has with its unice camuflage has missing aviation identification - same that Bismarck has in it's painting for its last battle. That should be addet to the unice Prinz Eugen camuflage. I got some photos that show this to you too, even the size and position of it. I chose to put only one picture on my comment for the beginning. On the picture you can see the Bismarck in it's baltic sea camuflage from the german cruiser Prinz Eugen. And there you can see the aviation identification on it's bow. Third, the Bismarck in its camuflage for 3000 dublons has a missing aviation identification too. That is the same that the Bismarck has in its camuflage for its last battle. You can see this in the next picture. And I would suggest add the black and with stripes on the upper deck to so the Bismarck like you can see it in the third picture or on several pictures on the Internet so the bismarck has the same kind of camuflage like Prinz Eugen or HSF Graf Spee. That would look so much greater! :)The last thing that I've missed is the little aviation identification on the right side of Tirpitz rear. There is a photo that prove that. That would be great if you add this too :) I'm currently busy with my aunt who is a huge fan of the Battleship Scharnhorst if the Scharnhorst got on it's camuflage winter 1943 (that is the camuflage that the Scharnhorst got in the game) has a aviation identification too so I can keep you up on date.I hope you can add these points or I'm ready to help you with edditing skins. I would like to make the game a bit bether :) I'm sure a lot of people would love that ! :) Greetings from your big Fan from Germany Please excuse my grammatical or spelling mistakes.- Johannes :)

  20. Ok, I am bored. And as most bored people do when they are bored. They do random crap. World of Warships has a Soundtrack that is in its top class. And half of the enjoyment I get from playing world of warships is from the soundtrack itself. It makes slow paces normally boring battles feel much more intense and actionspacked. And then it's that style of music. something that breathes Epicness into it. And mostly it takes form of orchestral music. But it dosnt have to be pure orchestral. But there is hard to come with such emotional impact that a really well made orchester manage to do. So I'm going through my massive music library of stuff trying to find suitors for such. But since going through my many of my external harddrives a pain in the [edited], I'm going through stockpiles of different Groups i know are capable of making good music that would be fitting in such a naval game like this. Here are so far my list of songs that I've dug up. There are many other good ones, but theese are my personal handpicked ones that I personally find perfectly fitting for a naval battle game. Now many people arent fan of anime and might be discourage seing bunch of random anime girls on the pictures, but if you can ignore those and just enjoy and evaluate the music by itself. And to be completely honest, I only like this specific Touhou series for its music in all honesty. I dunno, something about its music that makes it wide, diverse and very memmorable, and not to mention the endless amount of remixes of all music genres that its been spread into. Now there arent just Touhou orchestral music that i have in totality. But I gotta begin somewhere. I'll be throwing updates for every batch of 10 songs I can find that would fit World of Warships. Following list is sorted out by what i personally imagine type of ships the songs would fit by. So far, here is the first list: DD, CA, BB DD, CA CA BB, CV DD, CV CA, BB, CV (Personal favourite, especially starting at the 1 minute marker) IJN DD, IJN BB (Warning, this one is abit quiet in the beginning, but thats just a intro, so dont turn your volume up more than you normally have it) IJN CA, IJN CV CA, BB DD, CA CA, BB BB Tell me in the comments below if any of them fancied your taste. And do post your own songs that you think would fit straight into a Naval Battle Game.

    Italian ship traits

With the Italian fleet comming in the future what traits you think they will feature to feel unique? As far as I know both battleships and cruisers guns had very high muzzle velocity with Littorios having the highest from every major battleships of WWII. This could be balanced by increasing the shell dispersion. Another interesting thing about Littorios was the Pugilese system and auxiliary rudders that could come very handy in case of damage or jam of the main rudder. Therefore, it would be pretty nice if they would have slightly increased underwater protection and for example a -100% posibility of rudder jam. As for the cruisers Trentos could be distinct by their speed and Zaras by very high survivability due to their double armoured belt and deck.

    Iowa vs Montana

Asking players whom have had both for a long time, do you feel like the Iowa handles better than the Montana? Which one is more responsive, plus the Iowa being the fastest battleship by far wouldn't that make it more like a tier 9.5 bb?

    USS Saipan Bedingungen

From the RU forums: http://forum.worldof...08#entry2045408 Original text and my rough translation: Сайпан ( обратите внимание, корабль еще не готов, не продается, со стартом продаж будет отдельная новость) будет предлагаться к покупке в клиенте игры посредством системы личных предложений всем игрокам имеющим 20+ побед на авианосцах и хотя бы 1 бой на авианосце 5 уровня и выше. Обещаем не спамить, предложим к покупке 2-3 раза,с интервалом не менее недели. USS Saipan will be offered for sale through the game client, via personal offers to all players that have 20+ wins, as well as at least one battle in a tier 5 carrier (please note, the the ship is not yet ready and not on sale; we'll have a separate announcement to that effect). We promise not to spam players with this offer, and will only extend it 2-3 times, with at least one week interval between offers.Сделано это для того, чтобы купить его могли только те игроки которые умеют на авианосцах играть ( Чтобы, в противном случае не могли разочароваться и расстроить сокомандников в бою). В случае успеха подобных продаж опыт будет продолжен. This is done in order to make the ship available only to players that know how to play carriers (otherwise they might be disappointing, and also piss of their teammates). If this experiment is successful, we'll continue sales like this in the future. Was meint ihr? Lasst es das Forum (und Wargaming) wissen . Mast- und Schotbruch! Justus Fire
