  2. Hello everybody:D So this is my very first skin and it´s the Kii, so as i said, it´s my very first skin and i had to learn how to use gimp in order to do it, so it took me a while. Cuz there is no Kancolle character for the Kii, i took Amagi and her sisterships Unryuu and Katsuragi. (little fun-fact, they are all carriers in Kancolle) I hope everything is working and that u like the skin:) Pls leave a comment! 3. Updated: 2017-10-14 Hi! So a while ago I downloaded and edited Secession's Imperator Nikolai I's custom white-and-gold skin, turning it into a black-and-gold and a black-white-and-gold skin. After that, I started editing skins of my own, making a whole bunch of them. So here's my custom skin collection... Disabling the camo only affects the visuals, not the bonuses, so you still get those. - For the Nassau, Bayern, Kongo, Amagi and South Carolina you get both the clean and rusted skins together. - For the Imperator Nikolai I and the Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya you get all skin variations in the same package. - The Gneisenau skin only affects the ship's deck, guns and superstructure and is meant to be used with the premium camo, so you don't have to disable it. - The Großer Kurfurst skin I made uses Tanz's GK skin as a template, adding rust and the colours and coat of arms of the Weimar Republic. All credit for the original camo goes to him: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/22352-tanzs-shipyard/ - Almost all japanese battleships share the same type of secondary guns. For their dual purpose secondaries, all free ships, from Kongou to Yamato, have 127mm dual turrets. So the skin file for those (file name: JGS009_127mm40_Type_89_a) is used by all of them. The Yamato has a different skin file, making the turrets dark grey, while the others have white turrets. If you download the Yamato and at least one of the other free battleships, you have to choose either white or dark grey 127mm dual turrets. - The Großer Kurfurst also uses the same dual purpose secondary guns from Gneisenau, so if you have the DDR Gneisenau, you'll see the red turrets with the communist symbol on the Großer Kurfurst too. - For the Hood you get the same skin files twice, one for the regular hull, and the other for the The Last Conquest special hull. If you don't have the TLC hull, use the regular one. If you have it, you can choose to replace the regular skin, but you have to disable the premium camos, or replace the TLC skin and keep the premium camos visible. - The Dunkerque camo is for the Fleur d'Acier special hull. If you want it for the regular hull, I recommend Wyvern's Dunkerque skin, which is almost the same: - Here's Secession's page with the original Imperator Nikolai I skin I used as a template for mine (which I uploaded with his permission; all credit for the original goes to him): - The three skins for Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya work well with the Krasny Oktyabr camo (the red and yellow one with "CCCP" painted on the middle of the hull), the black and orange one being the best for it, so if you have it, you can make the standard camo invisible and keep using that one. That's what I'm doing. Also, a quick guide to removing permanent cammos: First, you need to put this file into the \Games\World_of_Warships\res_mods\0.6.9.1 folder (the file is from the 6.9.1 version, but it will work for future versions too untill they make some major changes; then I'll upload the new version with a new tutorial): http://www.mediafire.com/file/356nv1mjpp9mmdq/camouflages.xml Then you open it as a text file and open the search tool (Ctrl+B). You search for a key word matching the ship's cammo you want to edit (hint: look at the name of the skin files; some ships have names completely different from their in-game names) Here I'll look for the Aurora, which for some reason they put under the name "avrora" with a V. You keep hitting next until you find something like this: If the ship has more than one permanent cammo, like the Tirpitz, you'll find them one after the other: Below that you'll find four lines reading "<color0>" thru "<color4>" with a string of numbers. You only need to change those four lines of numbers from whatever values they have to "0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000". Then you save the file. And you're done! Now the cammo is invisible, but you still enjoy the bonuses it offers. Warning: Unlike skins, which you can change, add or remove while running the game and see the changes on your ships by just selecting another ship, then going back to the ship you want, this doesn't work with the game running. You need to close the game and launch it again to see the change. Enjoy!
  5. So.... finished the mission.. but the camo isn't visible in the camo section! I got confirmation that I got it, the camo is in the inventory list.. but not in the camouflage section for Kii.... WTF WG!

The Kii in Preview So the newest addition to the premium fleet is, actually, a bit of a surprise. Today, up for the test, is the IJN Kii. To those not too much into prototypes, the Kii was a proposed and planned Battleship design for the 8-8 fleet plan of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Only 2 of these fast battleships were laid down of the four. None, however, were completed due to the limitations of the Washington Naval Treaty. So what’s it like in game? Let’s find out! 10.9.17 First Test Iteration The Kii itself is very closely related to the non-premium Amagi, the most striking differences are the thicker belt and superior AA, while losing out on the speed and reload department. It should be noted that Kii's armour layout is different to the Amagi's, and Amagi having superior torpedo protection. Pro: Con: Very good AA Strong Armour Torpedoes with strong angles. Loss on Speed vs Non-premium Reload time Less effective armour compared to Amagi Survivability, Maneuverability and Concealment: The Kii boasts strong armour and about average hitpoints. Her top speed is just shy of 30knots making her 3rd slowest on her tier. With CE and CSMod1 you can bring down Kii's detectability to 13.4km (Tirpitz: 12.3km) Guns, Torps and Anti-Aircraft: Slightly less Accurate than the Amagi, (about 10 metres more dispersion), otherwise almost identical with same turret setup (A-B bow C-D-E aft). The biggest downside to the Kii's guns, is frankly the reload. which is an appalling 35 seconds. This seriously bites into Kii's DPM potential, especially in the long run. Did I mention Kii gets torpedoes? 4 tubes per side, located in the aft. Suprisingly good angles none-the-less. Comparable to the Mutsuki's pre-line-split-stock torps (6km with approximately 12,000 alpha, 63kn speed) The AA is where the Kii really shines in it's class. The Kii is armed with a 3 level suite of 100mm DP guns (which can be found on the Akizuki), the Japanese version "Chi" Bofors (an unusual setup for a Japanese Battleship) and the usual (rather lackluster in comparison) Nipponized Hotchkiss 25mm MG. Recommended Mods.: Recommended Captain Skills: Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4 Gameplay "She's got more armour but in the wrong places. Citadel armour (turtleback) is significantly cut. Then again the Kii is not an Amagi. She trades speed, firepower and effective armour for AA and torps if you compare the two. Comparing her to a Tirpitz, Kii trades effective brawl armour, speed and firepower for AA" I'd liken Kii to an Amagi, with an Akizuki strapped to each side. She has solid armour, is able to tank and bounce effectively, while also having strong AA. Make no mistake, Kii is not an Amagi. Her Armour layout is different, the torpedo protection lackluster. Kii works best at medium range, but she doesn't mind too much going in close. Complimentary to her 10 main guns, she can also surprise her enemies with a dab of the 3 key. She reminds me a lot of the Tirpitz. The Tirpitz, however, has a fast reload and fast rotating turrets, making her an excellent Brawler. The Kii tries to compensate these faults with her strong armour. The lack of DPM puts her in more of a support role. She's able to tank while allies cause the bulk damage, or rain down supporting fire and AA from medium range. I didn't get to test the Kii while divisioning, but I suspect that she would excel with a little support of Division ships. If the 35 second reload issue is fixed, I could very much recommend this ship to anyone looking for a tier 8 battleship with a bit of a challenge. following now is a replay (result screen in spoiler bracket). 18.9.17 Second Test Iteration (likely final) In this buff, Kii gained:
  7. I just read a very unconfirmed rumor somewhere that they're in some early stage of testing for the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kii-class_battleship According to wikipedia, it should be a near exact copy of the Amagi, but with more armor and less speed: "The Kii class was based largely on the preceding Amagi-class battlecruisers, which were in turn based on a less-armored Tosa-class design. The only major difference between the Kiis and Amagis was their speed and armor - the Amagis were faster, and the Kiis had a thicker belt. Despite this lineage, the Kiis were classified as "fast battleships" by the Japanese, as they had decided to end the distinction between "battleship" and "battlecruiser"." It was designed in the early 1920s (a.k.a. tier 5 to 6). In reality it would have had 8 torpedo launchers (most likely the fixed ones, 4 per side) and only the Nagato and Amagi-like secondary guns and only a total of 4 AA guns. What you see in the pictures (dual-purpose turrets and cruiser-like torpedo launchers) are complete fiction. Is this good, or would you still prefer the rumored A-hull Amagi?
