    USS Helena Build.

So I recently got Helena, and was wondering whats the best way to fit her out? I've looked for other forum posts about such a question but none seem to give much in the way of a straight forward answer. Currently thinking for the Cmdr. Skills being: 1) Priority Target 2) Adrenalin Rush 3) Superintendent or Demolition Expert 4) Inertia Fuse for HE Shells 5) Commencement Expert 6) Advanced Fire Training 7) Preventative Maintenance Upgrade Modules being Slot 1: Main Armaments Modification 1 Slot 2: Damage Control System Modification 1 or Steering Gear Modification 1 Slot 3: Aiming Systems Modification 1 or AA Guns Modification 1 Slot 4: Damage Control Modification 2 or Steering Gears Modification 2 Thoughts, Criticisms any pointers to utilise the Helena properly are appreciated. Cheers.
  2. With the new Us CL line I was looking forward to see how the Dallas compared to the old Cleveland, but I didn't "feel" the ship, so I went on to the Helena. Wow what a ship. Yes it has weak armour and if you get out of position or get separated you can suffer. Yet in a high majority of your games you can have really good fun with it. It was fast becoming my favorite US Cruiser. Then I spotted the Boise, saw some youtube reviews and though "maybe not, stick with the Helena". Then I spotted the deal where you buy the Boise and you can get the Argentine version free with a mission, so I went for it as I thought that it was a good deal. Well, I can only say thank the lord that I did. Even with less range and bigger turning circle, the heal really makes this ship a strong ship. I can't emphasize enough how much the heal helps this ship. I'd even say it is a very strong ship. Not OP, because if you get in the wrong position you can very easily be deleted. I am consistently getting better XP, scores and team positioning in this ship than any other ship that I play. What a fun ship to play. I'd even go as far as to say it is better than the Helena. Grinding for the Argy ship is no problem at all and I will have it by tomorrow. Playing this ship has encouraged me to really think about positioning, moving from cover to cover, when to engage and when not to engage. It has definitely improved my Cruiser play, even when I go to my Favorite British Cruisers, Fiji and Belfast, I see a marked improvement in my game-play with them. The Boise is now my number one go to fun play Cruiser, and definitely one of my most fun ships of all the ones that I have.

Yesterday I didn't saw any Dallas or Helena in my port. Today, I saw a few, after a few battles I went there and nothing, WTH? then I went to the tech tree and there they are. I have to return to Omaha to unlock them, WHAT? I always though that I would receive them in my port, like NO. All that talk and Maths and videos... I'm a bit confused. Should I have received them in my port or not? thank you.

    Battle of Kula Gulf

As the Allies advanced through the Solomons island chain, a pattern evolved - US troops landed on a new island, Japanese destroyers - the infamous "Tokyo Express" - were redirected to new port to ship supplies and reinforcements. Exactly this happened on the night of 6 July, 1943, when a group of American cruisers and destroyers intercepted a convoy of 10 destroyers. The confused night battle did see sinking of two Japanese destroyers, while USS Helena fell victim to torpedoes after she expended all her flashless powder supplies and in turn was the most visible. USS Helena and USS St. Louis in action. Cover Force (Radm Akiyama Terou) Niizuki (Flagship) - sunk Suzukaze - damaged Tanikaze 1st Transport Group Mochizuki - damaged Mikazuki Hamakaze 2nd Transport Group Nagatsuki - damaged, beached, later destroyed by air raid Satsuki Amagiri - damaged Hatsuyuki - damaged Task Group 36.1 (RAdm Ainsworth) Cruiser Division 9 USS Honolulu (CL-48) (Flagship) USS St. Louis (CL-49) USS Helena (CL-50) - sunk Destroyer Squadron 21 USS Nicholas (DD-449) USS Radford (DD-446) USS O'Bannon (DD-450) USS Jenkins (DD-447)
  5. Five of the Brooklyns and one of the two St. Louises were sold to three of the major navies of South America. Brooklyn and Nashville to Chile as O'Higgins and Capitán Prat: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Brooklyn_(CL-40)#Chilean_Navy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Nashville_(CL-43)#Chilean_Navy Philadelphia and St. Louis to Brazil as Barroso and Tamandare: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Philadelphia_(CL-41)#Brazilian_Navy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_St._Louis_(CL-49)#Transfer_to_Brazil Phoenix and Boise to Argentina as General Belgrano (called 17 de Octubre when sold, renamed after a military coup) and Nueve de Julio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Phoenix_(CL-46)#Argentine_service https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Boise_(CL-47)#Argentine_Navy This offers Wargaming a unique opportunity: They can use three of the ships, one from each nation, as premiums, and keep the other three for a future tech tree. To diferentiate the tree premiums, they can give each of them a different consummable. One can have radar, one hydro, and the last one defensive AA. If you want to separate them even more, one can have smoke (preferably not the ones with radar and hydro), one can have speed boost, and the last one repair party. Also, since there isn't the same level of recentment or whatever that apparently caused problems with the pan asian branch (I'm from Argentina, and though there IS a good deal of resentment, it's not to the level of nation-wide hatred towards all the other countries in the region), they could give each ship its nation's flag. For the tech tree in general, they can use this flag, which was proposed as the flag of the UNASUR (didn't win), the international organization that integrates all south american countries.
