  1. So i got myself the Haku back in the light of the next CB season on the horizon and fact that the brawl showed few in clan still harbor CVs... So cap wise I took AS/DCF/IEB-IE-SE/AA-SS/CE Modules are still WIP but for now I slapped on the DB module in slot 4 plan is to put on the FCM1 in slot 5 and AGM2 in slot 6, AGM1 slot 1 and AEM1 slot 2 and probably the AAM1 in slot 3 Now about the plane upgrades... Seems 2 me that TBs are a no brainer as they are faster and tougher (duh) and although you get slower regen you also get bigger squad and more planes on deck initially so it kinda counterbalances that... Now the question is are the T10 DBs and rocket planes worth the prolonged respawn? Also any thoughts about something that has to be changed?

    [ALL] Plane swaps for carriers

Simple plane swaps using existing in game assets, as default plane selection made by Wargaming leaves something to be desired at times. Installation: extract .zip archive and copy PnFModsLoader.py and PnFMods folder into World of Warships/Res_Mods/[version]/ note: PnFModsLoader.py file is empty can can be safely overwritten by other mods Midway: replaces BTD Destroyers with AD Skyraiders for both dive and torpedo bombers http://www.mediafire.com/file/t7ld3p54sg9y7ta/Midway_swap_AD1.zip/file Hakuryu: replaces J5N with B7A, as more appropriate dive/torpedo bomber, A7M replaces A8M http://www.mediafire.com/file/a5sx4rrscd325ky/Hakuryu_swap_A7M_B7A.zip/file Enterprise: replaces planes with Battle of Midway loadout, consisting of F4F Wildcats, TBD Devastators and SBD Dauntlesses http://www.mediafire.com/file/3ytugrxh92cf8uq/Enterprise_Midway.zip/file http://www.mediafire.com/file/4316mvjisdr3tn9/Enterprise_Midway_fixed.zip/file - fixed texture issue on hull and planes. I did my best to doublecheck for any errors, but it goes double for Enterprise and Kaga, as I don't own them. Changes: -fixed Enterprise texture issue -added Kaga swap -[24.04] fixed crashing issue on Kaga mod Known issues: Enterprise: -swapped dive bombers draw only three bomb tracers -doesn't work with Azur Lane camouflage Work inspired by Carrier_Ikoma from NA https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/189171-tutorial-working-plane-swaps/
  3. hello guys, i am one of those guys that like to play aircraft carriers. i usually play the new hakuryu with quite decent results(average dmg around 120k, usually top 5 player). overall the game experience is fine, but i would like to point out 2 things: 1) when you are driving the planes, you cannot reinforce the anti-air gun sectors of the carrier. i think that this is quite "shitty" because i can't properly defend my ship from incoming planes. the only way i can do it is to recall my planes, reiforce the sector, and re-start the voyage(crap). it would be nice to have 2 different keys in order to reinforce the left or the right side of the ship without leaving the flight squadroon. 2) improve the auto-pilot. after the new patch there have been a lot of improvement on this topic, but still, is quite hard to go backwards and sometimes the ship collides with islands.

Hello all, as other players have pointed out (more or less in salty manner), the nerf that occurred to the Hakuryu lately, by removing it's most advanced torp bombers, leaves me puzzled at the best. In first place, WG's motiviation was the they were underperforming. What?!? Are you kidding me? For those who don't know, those torps were at the Jap standard speed of 50 knots, in waves of 4 torps and with the amazing range of 8km!!! This ment that if one had spec its captain with CE, the area of detection was LOWER than the range. Translated (and stolen from "The Hunt for Red October") : "... that thing could launch its torps and nobody would ever know anything about it until it was all over..." Cool!!!! But not quite all the story. As CC iChase perfectly illustred in one of his video on YT, the range of 8km allowed to apply the tactic of "Area Denial" by keep launching from a safe spot over and over. Maybe you wouldn't have hit anything, but be assured that piece of sea was gonna be so saturated of torps than no one among enemy CAs and BBs would dare advancing. An amazing tactical advantage!! So I suppose WG fell into a typo and actually ment OVERperforming. As consequence.... the nerf. Was it needed? I bitterly must admit yes, it was. Was it well done? No, absolutely not!!! Now the Haku has torps bombers that simply don't stand the comparison for instance with Midway's. No more amazing range, fine!! But also dropping the attacking waves from 4 to 2, quite frankly it's a bit too much. Considering that the squadron is made of 12 planes, at the best one can manage 1 or 2 drops. The remaning 8 planes are just meat for the AA. And you are gonna need them. You can't drop them before attacking cause also your HP isn't as good as Midway's torps bombers. So my suggestion is to, at very least, to increase the attacking waves back to 4 torps. This also means 3 attacks per squadron (most likely just 2), not the actually 6 that one just would not be able to do anyway. Thanks

What I'm going to say is very simple to understand. I'm a casual wows player. Since one week, I started to play CVs taking advantage of the free premium days I had. After less than one hundred games with the shokaku, I got enough xp to unlock the hakuryu. I didn't have enough credit so I sold all my other ships to buy the hakuryu with all the upgrades. And here comes my problem. With the shokaku, I managed to get an average of 100k damage per game. But with the hakuryu, not only I can't even get up to half the damage I made with the shokaku, but I also loose 100k credit per game. With the hakuryu, it is impossible to drop torpedos, because ennemy ships see you coming and the distance of activation for torpedoes is so big that the targeted ship will have the time to dodge even if the aiming is perfect. As it is not possible to drop torps near the target, it is thus impossible to hit the target with torps. Why is the activation distance so insane for the hakuryu's torps ? After loosing millions of credit by playing the hakuryu (-100k credit per game) I gave up and sold the hakuryu to buy a nagato and a ryujo. But what's the point of continuing to play this game ? I mean, my initial goal was to get the hakuryu to have fun. My logic was simple : Hosho = nice cv Ryujo = good cv Shokaku = Very good cv So, with this pattern, I was expecting the hakuryu to be a very very good cv and a fun ship to play with, but no, unfortunatly, it's just a useless floating aircraft container, with the maintenance costing 300k per game, even loss of credit is impossible to avoid, even with premium. I then did some research on the internet and I found out that according to some people the hakuryu was "over powered" and that all the things I listed above are just the result of a nerf applied to this ship. The question I have is why not to simply delete the hakuryu as it is so nerfed that it's just a useless ship ? Fun = 0, gameplay = 0, credits earned = 0, usefulness for team mates = 0, So what's the point of adding a huge and costly ship to the game if it is inefficient and depressing to play. When I was playing the Shokaku, I was so happy, it was awsome to play, fun was there, at every game, I had fun, the games I lost and won. I had fun all the time no matter if it was loss or win. I thought that the hakuryu was going to be an even better experience, but I was mistaken. Now, after 20 games with the hakuryu, and millions of credits lost, I am depressed. I was so exited about this CV and it was even the first tier X ship I was going to try, and all of my excpectations got crushed by these 20 games. They 20 games of death almost brought me to death. But I said no, I won't give up, and in a last effort filled with the hope to see a decent Hakuryu, I decided to write this opened letter to all of mankind. People of the earth, please, listen to this epic call, we must convince Wargaming to give the hakuryu the glory it deserves to have. I know there is pressure on Wargaming, and I know that a lot of people hate CVs, when I heard what some people say in chat, I was shocked. There is a lot of anti CV racism in the game and that's a problem. The anti CV racists put pressure on WG to nerf all the CVs, specialy the hakuryu. I know that there is pressure, but to fall for that pressure a bad idea. CV like any other ships have their place in the game. I'm not asking for laser guided missiles mounted on aircrafts, nor am I asking for adding any over powered features that would break the game balance. I... Wa... Watashi... I am just saying that ultra low speed combined with 9000km activation distance for torps is wrong, This kind of things is breaking the game balance. And one last thing, I'm tired of anti CV racism, people hate us CV players, I don't even know why,and because of that hatred, I was about to commit suic... I can't tell you more, all this hatred toward CVs is just a horrible thing. People often simplify the CV players role, claiming that it's an easy task and so on, they forget that behind every hosho, every lexington, every shokaku, every audacious, there is in fact someone who is audacious and willing to help his team the best way possible. But with the hakuryu, it's not possible to be audacious, I was so sad and depressed playing this ship, + the insults coming from anti CV haters,I finally came to the point where I ended up torping myself several times. It was to much painful to play. How can people see with their own eyes CV players all around the world torping themselves and not yet realising that it's a desperate call for help ? People close their eyes on these issues because they still believe in the "CVs are overpowered" fairy tales. When you repeat a lie thousands of times, you come to a point where even the lier himslef starts believing his own lies. Same thing is going on here, there is in this game, a culture of hatred aimed at CVs. People dislike CVs and then put pressure on Wargaming staff in order to nerf them to death. That's the sad reality, and in a last breath of hope, I'm writing the last words of this letter. Thank you for reading, Arigato , alekoum salam, gracias, hasta la vista, danke Captain Katsura

Modules for the Midway & Hakuryu

Hi, What modules are you running on the midway & Hakurya? I would be very grateful if you can explain your choices :)
  8. Does anybody else think that the Hakuryu is outclassed by the Midway? Even the hanger on the Midway is bigger. Midway - 136 units. 2 fighter squads, x7 aircraft with skill. Hakuryu – 100 units. Either: 2x fighter squads, x5 with skill. 4x fighter squads, x5 with skill. Either way, the fighters on the US side do more damage and by far have alot more ammo. I’ve got to admit. I’m finding playing Tier X Carriers annoying, because you know that the Midway is almost certainly a win card in the right hands with maximised skills. And since the introduction of the fighter sweep? It's made things even worse, because the US fighters are more suited for it. Well that's what I think.

SHUTSUGEKI SHIMASU !"

    The Mighty Hakuryu [358k damage]

I don't usually post too many CV games but I realized today that I had no Hakuryu games on my youtube and decided to go full tryhard in a Haku game, ending up with a very respectable amount of damage.

  15. I see many people complain that CVs are too strong, because they can just pick and choose who lives. When I play CVs it sometimes feels that way for me as well, but when I play BBs it's quite different - I am almost never afraid of any single carrier. When I see Papedipupi on the enemy team I'm not annoyed because he's going to attack me and kill me quickly, I'm annoyed because he's going to attack and kill many of my teammates which will lead us to a likely loss. For some reason when a carrier player attacks me it is difficult for them to kill me. Unless I mess up I never seem to die in one hit or even two attacks. A few days ago I had a game with pretty poor MM - we had one (!) cruiser - a Myoukou, one Hakuryu, a bunch of destroyers and a bunch of battleships. The enemy team had a Hakuryu and a Shoukaku. I was in my Yamato - a big ship that has poor maneuverability and not that strong anti air. The enemy Hakuryu was played by Robustius (a good CV player) and he focused on me the entire time. It took him almost 9 minutes to kill me and I believe there were some attacks mixed in by the enemy Shoukaku as well. And what did I do in defense to live so long? Nothing really - I tried to turn but a Yamato just can't turn fast enough to avoid torpedoes, nor did I use repair correctly because of where I was on the map. Yet I still lived for almost 9 minutes of being focused by the CV. Imagine if there were two of me on that team - the Hakuryu couldn't even attack anybody else than the two of those or imagine if I had any kind of support from a cruiser with decent AA. Anyways here's the video of that: All of this makes me think that maybe it really is an issue with matchmaking - mismatched tiers rather than carriers being too strong. What if the issue is that the combination of stronger ship and more skill on a carrier makes it so that the battleships with weaker tiers and less skill just become easy prey? A Nagato certainly can't take anywhere near as many torpedoes as I could in my Yamato, but a Nagato could avoid them better, however, is an average Nagato player capable of that? Seems like they aren't. I feel that this is a bit like the enemy having a whole bunch of Simses or Hatsuharus and you're in a Des Moines cruiser. Those destroyers aren't going to even touch you before they just die. What do you guys think? PS this is me standing still against a Hakuryu's attack in a Montana if you haven't seen it yet (I really fail to see the super powerful OPness in it):
  16. Same as the last time with Taiho, 5 games as soon as I got it. Here is the recording of twitch streaming Still CHN cast, and as it is 1 hour long, guess I won't make the eng sub for it. But you can see the idea of the ship
