    Prinz Eitel Friedrich

  4. Hi, Are KM BBs still good now considering the other BB lines that are very tanky too? (looking at you, Kremlin) Should I go up this tech-tree?
  5. I realise that survival is statistically the best build for german/most BBs these days but if I wanted to make a secondary spec german BB captain what skills would I use (I'm thinking in terms of IFHE etc after the recent change) Cheers!

Hello. What happened to the Günther Lütjens? If someone have information/speculation about Günther Lütjens I will be happy to read them. For me I want my Lütjens to be awarded upon completion some sort of Bismarck focused campaign. Oh and if you don't know what unique traits to use: Master Adrenaline Rush Master Advanced Firing Training Master Manual Fire Control for Secondary Armament And every secondary kill to give fireworks!! (And maybe heal you a bit ^^) I like fireworks... Edit2: Added a Poll. Edit: Here is all the info I found so far: Announced at Gamescom 2019. "Günther Lütjens - Kriegsmarine admiral. During World War II he both commanded Scharnhorst and Gneisenau’s successful raid in Atlantic, and lead the last operation of the legendary Bismarck. He went down with his ship in May of 1941 fighting the British Royal Navy." Wikipedia link. Drawing vs Picture of him: Traits info: "We will share the details about these commanders’ traits later in the development blog." Comment about campaigns and captains from MrFingers: Final edit In conclusion: As some people predicted, WG released extremely weak (and expensive) german commander. I feel disappointed, but it serves me right for thinking that this time it was going to be different, even after witnessing all of WG's scams, bias and all around shitty practices. Well done, great job, 2019 made me lose the last shreds of good faith I had in your company.
  8. Greetings fellow Sailors! [ATAC] is looking for like-minded players to have some fun and reach some goals. For short attention spans: Are you an experienced and competitve minded player near meeting the requirements? Come and say hello to me in Discord: https://discord.gg/fdQbtSK Still interested? Read on: Who we are: We are a group of veteran competitive players with the ambition to have a good time while still successfully winning matches! Many of us have high competitive backgrounds from clans like OMNI, RAIN, the old WGP2W, and some even won the King of the Seas tournament At the same time we are husbands, partners, fathers and family members who respect each other in great friendship. Keeping it relaxed and easy is one of our main goals Most of us are German, and all of us are retarded but we can understand and speak fluent English with a few tries. Anyways it will be you who has to live with listening to our lovely German English accent. “th” anybody? Many of us are relatively WoWs-retired. We still do some random games if we feel like it and when the time is given. But often there is at least one member who has the game currently deinstalled for a non-specified reason. :Kappa: What we want: We strive to play in Clanbattles with a good team. So it would be marvellous if you could bring some experience with you. Whilst this is not mandatory, it certainly eases the process. Establish an environment with a competitive mindset, yet keeping it relaxed. When someone wants to takes a break from the game – that’s perfectly fine. Playing some games with people who are nice to talk to, reasonable but at the same time childish enough to endure some humour. If we are tired of WoWs you will certainly find somebody to play a different multiplayer game – no matter what. Short term fun in race games like Wreckfest. Shootouts in GTA. Highly complex strategy like in Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Imperator Rome. There is something to suit all tastes. We are definitely not a schooling clan. Of course nobody is perfect. But this is not the place to learn about the basic concepts of the game. None of our players is “Mr. Perfect” in World of Warships, knowing everything and never doing mistakes – But we expect at least the willingness to learn and improve upon an already set base. The biggest advantage of this: There are no There are no mandatory trainings! Who we want: We search for players with a competitive mindset and a good sense of humour. Requirements: Your winrate should be at least around the clan average (min 55% Winrate), or alternatively get a personal recommendation of a clan member. No worries: While we are well aware Although the statistics like the winrate never tell the whole story, however we have yet to see a player with below 50% winrate overall who is outstandingly good. Experienced players, partly-retired competitive veterans and war invalides are warmly welcome here. Most of us are in that stage. “Randoms are tedious, but clanblattles with the bois gonna be fun”. How we want it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°): Come in and say hello so we can give you a warm welcome. Stay around and have a good time. Feel free to hop into the channels and play some matches or just talk. Please: Do not hesitate to join in. Actively keeping an eye out for potential new members is difficult since none of our admins have perfected their mind-reading capabilities yet. If you want to join us: Poke an admin. There is no official “trial” phase. Just the time to get used to another. And we’ll have an internal poll for every new recruit. That’s it! 9. [KMD] (Kriegsmarine Deutschland) Recruiting, A friendly helpful community (~ninety percent German clan, 18++) on EU server, looking for (not only German) players, especially who would like to participate in clan battles (during the EU time period 19:00-23:00). Besides that, we play together in division, random battles, scenario, events... We use Discord, and speaking English and German. (Must use Discord in Clan Battle for two-way communication.) Our naval base nearly completed: Continuously bonus for incoming steel, coal, credits, XP... We don't tolerate inappropriate behavior, shouting, raging, insulting teammates or enemies, in any way... No minimal requirement in total stats. But needed at least 2 tierX ship with competence! Hidden profiles not accepted! If you are interested, or your clan no longer active, or you just want to change because of a better atmosphere... PM me, on Discord or General_Burton @ https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/messenger/
  10. I personally love german BBs and it was the frist line that i played in WOW. recently i reseted this line and it was crap as hell. bad gun dispersion, thick but useless armor, high citadell (a nagato can hit F.der citadel even in long range, bad concealment and... I think they need a buff! a good one. what do you think?!

    Z52 Long range gun build?

Hi I play DDs a lot. My first love was the German DD line. I won't say my stats are the greatest in them. But I have gotten a little bit better since then. Still play the z46 sometimes but very rarely the z52. I used it in CW where it works fine, but in randoms its no fun. So Ive got a t10 with a 19 captain that I dont use. My plan now is to go full gunbuild on it with emphasis on range. Its not that slow. 42 knots? With spood beast. And 16.8km range with aft and range module. It will still have 6.1 detection and 10.5 km torps. But slower reload. So what do you think... Is it going to work. Im thinking Udaloi with better consealment, better torps and longer range. Worse HE but better AP. It will still have the mega hydro for pushing caps and not being torped in smoke. The question is if it can hit on that range.

  13. Inspired by my previous work on the Blyskawica (Link), I have decided to take a more objective look at the German BBs and how they perform. As like many, I am biased and have certain preferences when it comes to my boats, so I decided not to look at my own performance and opinion of them, but instead take a look at the 2 month average on the EU server. The source of the information - http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/20191005/eu_2month/average_ship.html This will be a tier by tier analysis of the stats, with a general comparison and a word of the position the German battleships are in, starting from T5 as that's where the big boys start playing. Big thanks to @WG_Lumberjack for inspiring me to do this. Blame him, not me. Stats in bold are the best in the category, in italics the worst. Tier 5 Stats: Analysis: König is in a very good spot here. Good WR and damage, pretty average kills of both planes and ships, not a bad survival and K/D, mastery in tanking damage and the accuracy is ok too. I do not see any reason to touch this ship, even if the turret rotation is bad for a ship that should brawl. There is nothing to say more. Other ships here show an interesting picture. Bretagne is really bad. Texas rules the tier. Pyotr is performing a bit too well, but it has the lowest survival, so it dies most of the time. Other than that it is a very close race. Tier 6 Stats: Analysis: The good times are over, say goodbye. Bayern is one of the worst ships at tier. The WR is still ok, but the damage is trailing behind the rest. Between the top scorer Arizona and Bayern there's a 16k difference per game. And Arizona is not forced to push in to perform. Without Queen Elizabeth Bayern would be the ship with the least kills per game, at least it's second worst. It can shoot planes down though, but not too many. The survival isn't the worst, in fact it's pretty ok. K/D is again second worst after QE. Bayern has also quite surprisingly a very average tanking and accuracy average. It's middle of the field, but it still can't perform. PEF is a different pair of shoes, not really popular though. It has a decent winrate and damage, third and sixth to be precise. It's currently the best BB AA platform at T6. PEF however doesn't survive too often, after the Dunkerque it is the second most ganked T6 BB, it tries to tank the most damage but still goes poof. It's also the most accurate BB at tier with a good K/D. I'd say Bayern needs a buff, because ManSec gives it nothing of value and the guns just don't compensate. So it has nothing to shine with. Surviving the battle means nothing if you can't give back what you received. PEF doesn't need buffs, maybe a small QoL improvement of the turret traverse to make it perform better as a flanker, but that's it. Other highlights. As said above, Quen Elizabeth is horrible. It's even worse than Bayern. Arizona on the other hand, shines like a beacon of Sealclubbing. It dump trucks other ships at tier. I'm also very surprised that Izmail is rather average. A balanced Russian BB, now that's something you don't see every day. Also, Dunkek players should stop camping and move, they are getting killed in droves. Tier 7 Stats: Analysis: The monody to the German BBs continues. Gneisenau with it's least amount of guns stands at the end of the line. Damage, survival, K/D, all are bottom of the barrel bad. Surprisingly the hit ratio isn't bad, 4th best in fact, but having only 6 guns means you won't get the numbers to compensate. WR is good and AA is incredible, not even DoY comes close. Scharnhorst keeps the flame alive, the ship has decent stats in every category. Not a surprise there, as the fast firing 280mm guns can compensate for everything else. I don't need to say more, as it is in a very good place stat wise. Sinop murders people, if not for the Nelson and the 406mm fire starters, it would dominate most categories. No wonder Flamu calls the ship Satan. WG should really nerf it, like the Vladivostok. On the other end of the line stands Ashitaka, unloved, unwanted, and under performing. A ship designed to be bad. Who would've thought that making everything bad, save the guns, would make it so. Honorable mention, Hood, the ship everyone is shooting at. Tier 8 Stats: Analysis: To my incredible and shocking surprise, both Bismarck and Tirpitz are pretty average ships. They aren't great but they are also not bad (save the AA on Tirpitz, which is bad). They are not the best performing ships, but they aren't horrible. Even the accuracy of the main battery and damage are ok. Color me surprised. There is really no need for changes here. The rest of the ships at tier are a riot. NC players should be given an in-game message to get closer to the fight, because their ships are under perfoming. Kii isn't hitting other ships and can't win. Both Russians are very good, in fact they would be the best if not for a peculiar ship. The Massachoochoo just steamrolls over the corpses. WG you shouldn't have, really. This ship is even more OP when it comes to stats than Vladdy. Tier 9 Stats: Analysis: After so many buffs, FDG is still a steaming pile of garbage. I understand that some ships will always be last, but they should at least perform close to their peers. Instead FDG performs like an anemic T8 after a coffee. It doesn't do damage, it doesn't kill ships, it doesn't survive battles. And you can't blame it all on players. Other silver T9s are performing better than the T8s, FDG isn't. It's like watching a post on r/awfuleverything. WG was right to remove the Musashi. That ship was OP, still is. The most popular BB is not a German one, it's the Jean Bart. Soyuz like Izmail looks pretty balanced. And Missouri is a symbol of victory, getting one on the team means your chances to win have gone up. Tier 10 Stats: Analysis: Just because GK has better numbers than FDG doesn't mean it's a good ship. One look at the stats dispels any illusions I had. Least damage, least kills, worst survival rate and K/D. It's the same story, just one tier higher with some fresh paint to cover the rust. The WR is ok, but otherwise? Take the Kremlin, you'll have much better results. Or take anything else, save Montana. Lots of players play it, but even Yamato snipers perform better. I'm really surprised how bad Montana is being played. I don't know why. Bourgogne is OP, but it's not a surprise. Otherwise the ships are pretty balanced against each other, at least the silvers. Premiums? Yeah, not so much. WG is power-creeping T10 to make sure in the future no one will take a silver BB to CBs or Ranked. Well that's it for me. I'm surprised how good some ships perform. I don't like the PEF, but it performs well. Both T8s are doing good too. König is also solid. But the remainder? You always have better options. Especially T9 and T10 look grim, as both ships are the worst at tier when it comes to performance. FDG just stuns at how bad it is. Sub_Octavian has said they won't do blanket buffs and I agree. But for our sake they should start looking at individual ships, because this is looking like a train wreck. Anyway, drop a comment below to tell me what you think. I might do a similar post next week for a different line.

Type 1945 destroyer The Type 1945 destroyers were a planned class of destroyers, for the Kriegsmarine, whose design was based upon that of the Type 1936D and E destroyers. Their plan involved a return to steam boilers, which had been replaced by diesel engines in all ships designs after the Type 1942 destroyers. No ships were ever built, as the end of the war was rapidly approaching The ships of the Type 1945 destroyer class were to be 120 metres (390 ft) long at the waterline and 125.5 metres (412 ft) long o/a, have a beam of 12 metres (39 ft), a draught of 3.88 metres (12.7 ft), and displace 2,700 tonnes (2,700 long tons; 3,000 short tons) at standard load, 3,100 tonnes (3,100 long tons; 3,400 short tons) at full load, and 3,700 tonnes (3,600 long tons; 4,100 short tons) at deep load. They were to have a complement of 350, and carry two motor pinnaces, one torpedo cutter and a motor dinghy. They were to be armed with eight 12.7 cm (5.0 in) SK C/41 guns, placed in four twin turrets, with 1,440 rounds of ammunition, four 5.5 cm (2.2 in) L/76.5 guns, with 5,000 rounds of ammunition, twelve 3 cm (1.2 in) L/66.6 M-44 guns, with 24,000 rounds of ammunition, eight total 53.3 cm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes, placed in quadruple tubes on her deck, with 16 torpedoes, and 100 mines. They were to have high-angle (anti-aircraft) director ship gun fire-control systems, placed on their fore and aft, which were to be fitted with radio direction finders. They were to be propelled by two three-bladed propellers, two sets of Wagner turbines, four Wagner-Deschimag boilers feeding high-pressure superheated steam (at 70 atm (1,029 psi; 7,093 kPa) and 400 °C (752 °F)), intended to give her 80,000 shaft horsepower (60,000 kW), and a speed of 42.5 knots (78.7 km/h; 48.9 mph), 39.5 knots (73.2 km/h; 45.5 mph), or 37 knots (69 km/h; 43 mph), depending on if they were at standard load, full load, or deep load, respectively. They were to carry 800 tonnes (790 long tons; 880 short tons) of oil, to give her a range of 3,600 nautical miles (6,700 km; 4,100 mi) at 19 knots (35 km/h; 22 mph). H-41 Tripple Turrets

By the way, nobody is talking about that fact, that the German High Tier will have triple turrets rather than double turrets? This image confirmed it: http://worldofwarships-na.gcdn.co/dcont/fb/image/d09adabc-42fa-11e6-8dfc-d89d6715223c.jpg (took the img form NA server due to slightly higher resolution) Proof in the image i attached. Also the ship in the screen is not the scharnhorst, as the number of windows in the bridge, and the odd aa gun, and the form of the tower is not matching. This could explain the long reload and crappy dmg of german shells (as i complained before) What do you think about it? Should they rather balance the fire power by accuracy and reload time?

Secondary Build German IFHE or DE?

Greetings comrades, i´ve thought about the secondary build for a while now, my actual build is down below. The biggest point i´m struggling a bit is to use Demo Expert or rather IFHE. The suggestion to use IFHE is quite common but I didnt find some opinions about DE yet. Opinions or suggestions about this?

    German BB 2019

Hello guys, I feel really badly about German BBs. Since i have purchased Bismarck, I think it is probably worst BB line right now. Dispersion, weak guns, short range, they r very large ... I tried secondary build on Bismarck and it is awfull. Secondaris are very unacurate and in current meta it is hard to get close to enemy. In Bismarck most og my games are T 10 matches. I cannot fight even same tier ships. Even i stay angled to enemy I usually got hits for 7 k or more. Are tier 9, 10 better or i should go for another line ? Do u have some guides for german bbs in 2019 ? What builds do you recomend for T8 + german bbs ? Please help me ... I do not feel soo hopeless in other tier 8 bbs (I played them on my friend acount) Thank u

    High tier German destroyers

At this moment in World of Warships the balance is pretty on point at the higher tiers, but in my opinion destroyers are in a weird spot, especially the German DDs. See the table below: High tier destroyers Nation Tier Ship name Purpose Conc Gimmicks IJN 9 Yugumo Torpedo 5.5 TBRB IJN 10 Shimakaze Torpedo 5.6 Wall of skill RN 9 Jutland Cap cont/gunship 5.7 Hydro 3km & repair party PAN 9 Chung Mu Cap cont 5.7 Radar USN 9 Fletcher Hybrid 5.8 DF PAN 10 YueYang Cap cont 5.8 Radar USN 10 Gearing Hybrid 5.9 DF IJN 9 Kitakaze Gunship 5.9 TBRB KM 9 Z46 Cap cont 5.9 Hydro 5km RN 10 Daring Cap cont/gunship 6.0 Hydro 3km & repair party SN 10 Grozovoi Hybrid 6.0 DF and repair party KM 10 Z52 Hybrid 6.1 Hydro 6km IJN 10 Harugumo Gunship 6.2 TBRB SN 9 Udaloi Gunship 6.8 DF SN 9 Tashkent Gunship 7.4 Repair party SN 10 Khabarovsk Gunship 7.9 Repair party I am probably a bit off with the purposes I have given to some DDs. The difference between a gunship and cap contester is that a cap contester functions really well against other DDs, where a gunship doesn't. EG: It is impossible for a Harugumo to hunt down a Shimakaze. Z46 Z46 feels a bit forgotten imo. With her current concealment she will encounter ships such as the Kitakaze, Jutland and Daring. Z46 has some really nice reload torpedoes, but her shell damage output is pretty darn low. Jutland can dish out 220,32k HE damage and Kitakaze 242,88k HE damage, where the Z46 can only do 170,1k HE damage per minute. This leaves me wondering, where does the Z46 belong? They used to be darn good cap contesters, but the game has passed that stage. Okay, well they are still really good torpedo boats. Fast reloading torpedoes, which could inflict some sweet flooding damage. Wait, what, flooding damage got nerfed... Now what? EDIT: She never had a 5.6km hydro range, it was 4.7km. My bad. Z52 The hydro of the Z52 stayed pretty steady, it was around 5.94 before, or something like that and it is now 6km. While having superior hydro she also got nerfed by the flooding nerf that was brought into the game lately. Just as the Z46 she used to be a pretty good torpedo boat that could set many floodings. It used to be a reward for the low damage torpedoes. Still really good at lighting up an entire cap when you can hit the rock in the middle of the cap. Doubts I am not really sure about the German DD line. The lack of gun power used to make up for their strong hydro, but with the addition of RN DDs and the IJN gun boat line, and the flooding damage nerf, they feel really weak, especially the Z46. I think the Z46 deserves a 6km hydro as well, and that both ships should receive a buff to their torpedo reload time. Improved torpedo dispersion? In my opinion the Kitakaze, Jutland and Daring should all receive a concealment nerf. Especially the British DDs were really strong before they fixed the concealment mechanic. They definitely need to be looked at when they introduce it as a feature. Your thoughts?

Fan made German submarine tech tree

Hello everybody, I have put together history and possible implementation of the German submarines in World of Warships. Please keep in mind that this is just fan made, not official news of upcoming new ships. Also I apologize for any grammar mistakes, english is not my native tongue. I would love to see submarines in WoWs, but I also don't want to destroy this game. If Wargaming wants to implement submarines in Random battles, then they need to do it carefully. Also, I think that minelayer submarines won't make it into the game. Please keep in mind, that submarine's characteristics (speed,...) are historically accurate and will be (most likely) changed. Reason is simple- speed of submarines is low and if they want to be competitive, it should be changed. However, speeds of submarines, which are showed here, are good if you want to compare submarines from different tiers. Adding submarines in game is only possible after the other issues in the current state of game are solved. It is hard to say how would look submarine branch, if it make it into the game, because there isn't any other submarine branch to compare these submarines to. If submarines would be implemented in game, I bet, that German tech tree would be the first that comes to mind. Also, if submarines come to the game, all ships should be adapted (anti-submarine warfare...). I think that submarines could have the same mechanics for reloading the torpedoes as in Halloween event. However, the maximum depth, where can be submarine submerged, could be changed from tier to tier or by upgrading the hull of submarine. At the beginning, submarines could have only 2 different depth levels, where they can be submerged. At higher tiers, for example Type VIIC or Type IX, they could have maybe 4 different depth levels. If submarine runs out of air, she would be forced to the surface, where she begins to replenish her air supplies. I start my tech tree at tier IV. Reason for that is simple. At tier IV, new players have a decent knowledge of game mechanics, so if they meet submarines, they should be capable to counter them or know approximately how to react and they know their ships quite well. Main line: Tier IV Type II Displacement: -surfaced: 254 t (Type IIA) 279 t (Type IIB) -submerged: 303 t (Type IIA) 328 t (Type IIB) Length: 40.90 m (Type IIA) 42.70 m (Type IIB) Beam: 4.081 m (both hulls) Draught: 3.83 m (Type IIA) 3.90 m (Type IIB) Speed: -surfaced: 13 knots (Type IIA) 13 knots (Type IIB) -submerged: 6,9 knots (Type IIA) 7 knots (Type IIB) Secondary armament: none (both hulls) Torpedoes: -bow: 3 × 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes (both hulls) AA defence: Short range: none (Type IIA) 1x20mm (Type IIB) Quick history: The Type II U-boat was designed by Nazi Germany as a coastal U-boat, modeled after the CV-707 submarine, which was designed by the Dutch dummy company NV Ingenieurskantoor voor Scheepsbouw den Haag (I.v.S) (set up by Germany after World War I in order to maintain and develop German submarine technology and to circumvent the limitations set by the Treaty of Versailles) and built in 1933 by the Finnish Crichton-Vulcan shipyard in Turku, Finland. It was too small to undertake sustained operations far away from the home support facilities. Its primary role was found to be in the training schools, preparing new German naval officers for command. It appeared in four sub-types. Notes: I wanted something simple to begin this branch with. That's why I've chosen training coast submarine from WWII, instead of WW I submarine. In World of Warships: There would be 2 hulls: Type II A and Type II B This is simple submarine. She is small, maneuverable with great concealment and forward facing torpedoes. She can't be underwater for long time, but she can replenish here air quickly(-> friendly towards beginners). Type II Tier V Type U 66 Displacement: -surfaced: 791 t -submerged: 933 t Length: 69.50 m Beam: 6.30 m Draught: 3.79 m Speed: -surfaced: 16.8 knots -submerged: 10.3 knots Secondary armament: 1x8.8 cm SK L/30 naval gun Torpedoes: -bow: 4x1 45 cm (17.7 in) -stern: 1x1 45 cm (17.7 in) AA defence: Short range: none Quick history: The Type U 66 was a class of five submarines or U-boats operated by the German Imperial Navy (German: Kaiserliche Marine) during World War I. The class is alternately referred to as the U-66-class or the Type UD. The class was built by Germaniawerft of Kiel to their 506d design as the U-7-class for the Austro-Hungarian Navy. The five boats were sold to the Imperial Germany Navy at the beginning of World War I when it was thought impossible for the submarines to reach the Mediterranean for delivery to Austria-Hungary. All five boats saw active service, and four sank 18 or more ships. Only U-68, sunk six days into her first war patrol in March 1916, had no successes. Two other boats, U-66 and U-69 disappeared in 1917. The remaining two U-boats, U-67 and U-70, were surrendered to the United Kingdom and were broken up by 1921. Notes: 8.8 cm (3.5 in) SK L/30 deck gun, later replaced by 10.5 cm (4.1 in) SK L/45 deck gun This is the only submarine from WWI in this tech tree (not counting premium). I wanted more WWI submarines, but I found it difficult to integrate these submarines. However, I think later, I could make alternative beggining of this branch, where these submarines could be. Why did I choose Austro-Hungarian submarine, that was in service of Germany? I wanted to prepare players for stern torpedoes. Here is only 1, but later there are 2 for example (Type IX). If you don't want to use stern torpedoes, then you lose only 20% of your fire power (4 bow, 1 stern torpedo tubes). Later, for example on Type I or Type IX, you would lose 33% of your fire power (4 bow, 2 stern torpedo tubes). This ship should prepare you for stern torpedoes on higher tier. In World of Warships: In comparison to previous tier, Type U 66 has more torpedoes, secondary armament (still, you shouldn't rely on secondaries), speed, hitpoints an can stay longer submerged. However, this comes at a cost. She has worse concealment, worse damege per torpedo hit, turning radius and takes longer to replenish her air. Type U 66 Tier VI Type I Displacement: -surfaced: 862 t -submerged: 982 t Length: 72.39 m Beam: 6.21 m Draught: 4.30 m Speed: -surfaced: 17.7–18.6 knots -submerged: 8.3 knots Secondary armament: 1x10.5 cm (4.1 in) SK C/32 naval gun Torpedoes: -bow: 4x1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes -stern: 2x1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes AA defence: Short range: 1x20mm C/30 Quick history: The Type I U-boat was the first post–World War I attempt by Nazi Germany's Hocheseeflotte to produce an oceangoing submarine. Only two Type IAs were built. Although the boats did not have any major design faults, they were known to be difficult to handle due to their poor stability and slow dive rate. The type was based on the design of the Finnish Vetehinen class and the Spanish Type E-1. The design later served as a basis for the development of other types of boats, primarily the VII and IX classes. Constructed by Deschimag in Bremen, the first Type IA was launched on 14 February 1936. In 1940, the boats were called into combat duty due to the shortage of available submarines. Both boats experienced short, but successful combat careers. U-25 participated in five war cruises, sinking eight enemy ships. On 3 August 1940, while on a mine laying mission near Norway, U-25 struck a mine and sank with all hands on board. U-26 carried out eight war cruises, sinking three merchant ships and damaging one British warship on its first mission laying mines. On its second war cruise it became the first U-boat during World War II to enter the Mediterranean Sea. On its eighth war cruise the boat sunk three merchant ships and damaged another ship the next day. The attack on this ship led to severe depth-charging by two British warships, including HMS Gladiolus. Unable to dive, U-26 was forced to surface where she was bombed by a Sunderland flying boat. The crew scuttled the submarine and were rescued by Allied warships. Notes: Beginning of WWII submarines (not counting tier IV) In World of Warships: In comparison to previous tier, Type I has more torpedoes with better damage, hit points and surface speed. However, she has worse speed, while submerged, worse concealment and maneuverability. Type I Tier VII Type VII A Displacement: -surfaced: 626 t -submerged: 745 t Length: 64.51 m Beam: 5.85 m Draught: 4.37 m Speed: -surfaced: 17 knots -submerged: 8 knots Secondary armament: 1×1 8.8 cm (3.46 in) deck gun Torpedoes: -bow: 4x1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes -stern: 1x1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes AA defence: Short range: 1x20mm C/30 Quick history: These boats, designed in 1933-1934, were the first of a new generation of German attack U-boats known, as Type VII, they were popular with their crews and very agile on the surface. They also had a much more powerful striking power than the smaller Type II's. They had 5 torpedo tubes (4 at the bow) and would carry 11 torpedoes onboard or 22 TMA (=33 TMB) mines. They also had the effective 88mm fast-firing deck gun with about 160 rounds of ammunition. Notes: Maybe she could have 2 hulls- Type VII A and Type VII B? For now, she has only one- Type VIIA. In World of Warships: Even though Type VII A has one torpedo tube less, she has better DMP, thanks to faster reload. She also has better concealment. Her speed is slightly lower, but she has much better maneuverability than Type I and more air. Type VIIA Tier VIII Type VII C Displacement: -surfaced: 769 t (Type VIIC) 999 t (Type VIIC/42) 769 t (U-Flak) -submerged: 871 t (Type VIIC) 1099 t (Type VIIC/42) 871 t (U-Flak) Length: 67,2 m (Type VIIC) 68,7 m (Type VIIC/42) 67,2 m (U-Flak) Beam: 6.20 m (Type VIIC) 6,85 m (Type VIIC/42) 6.20 m (U-Flak) Draught: 4.74 m(Type VIIC) 5 m (Type VIIC/42) 4.74 m(U-Flak) Speed: -surfaced: 17.7 knots (Type VIIC) 18,6 knots (Type VIIC/42) 17.7 knots (U-Flak) -submerged: 7.6 knots (Type VIIC) 7,6 knots (Type VIIC/42) 7.2 knots (U-Flak) Secondary armament: 8.8 cm SK L/30 naval gun (Type VIIC) none (Type VIIC/42) 8.8 cm SK L/30 naval gun (U-Flak) Torpedoes: -bow: 4x1 45 cm (17.7 in) (all hulls) -stern: 1x1 45 cm (17.7 in) (all hulls) AA defence: Short range: 1x1 20mm C/30 (Type VIIC) 1x4, 2x2 20mm (Type VIIC/42) 2x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 (U-Flak) Medium range: 1x1 37mm canon Flak M42 (U-Flak) Quick history: The VIIC was the workhorse of the German U-boat force in World War Two from 1941 onwards and boats of this type were being built throughout the war. The first VIIC boat being commissioned was the U-69 in 1940. The VIIC was an effective fighting machine and was seen in almost all areas where the U-boat force operated although their range was not as great as the one of the larger IX types. Notes: The Type VIIC/42 was designed in 1942 and 1943 to replace the aging Type VIIC. It would have had a much stronger pressure hull, with skin thickness up to 28 mm, and would have dived twice as deep as the previous VIICs. These boats would have been very similar in external appearance to the VIIC/41 but with two periscopes in the tower and would have carried two more torpedoes. Contracts were signed for 164 boats and a few boats were laid down, but all were cancelled on 30 September 1943 in favor of the new Type XXI, and none was advanced enough in construction to be launched. U-Flak Four VIIC boats were modified for use as surface escorts for U-boats departing and returning to French Atlantic bases. These "U-Flak" boats were U-441, U-256, U-621, and U-953. Conversion began on three others (U-211, U-263, and U-271) but none was completed and they were eventually returned to duty as standard VIIC attack boats. In World of Warships: There would be 3 hulls- Type VII C - stock hull - Type VIIC/42 -better surface speed, more hit points but no secondary gun (compare to VIIC) - "U-Flak"- more hit points (but slightly less than Type VII/42) - better AA defence - Defensive AA fire consumable-> more survivable against CVs - slightly worse speed, while underwater All 3 hulls would have faster reload, slightly worse concealment and more air in comparison to Type VIIA. I like, when players can choose their style of play. Type VIIC Tier IX Type IX Displacement: -surfaced: 1,032 t (Type IXA) 1,120 t (Type IXC) 1,610 t (Type IXD2) -submerged: 1,153 t (Type IXA) 1,232 t (Type IXC) 1,799 t (Type IXD2) Length: 76.50 m (Type IXA) 76.50 m (Type IXC) 87.58 m (Type IXD2) Beam: 6.51 m (Type IXA) 6.76 m (Type IXC) 7.50 m (Type IXD2) Draught: 4.70 m (Type IXA) 4.70 m (Type IXC) 5.35 m (Type IXD2) Speed: -surfaced: 18.2 knots (Type IXA) 18.2 knots (Type IXC) 20.8 knots (Type IXD2) -submerged: 7.3 knots (Type IXA) 7.3 knots (Type IXC) 6.9 knots (Type IXD2) Secondary armament: 1 × 10.5 cm (4.1 in) SK C/32 deck gun (all hulls) Torpedoes: -bow: 4x1 53.3 cm (21 in) (all hulls) -stern: 2x1 53.3 cm (21 in) (all hulls) AA defence: Short range: 1x2 20mm FlaK 30 AA guns (Type IXA) 1x2 20mm FlaK 30 AA guns (Type IXC) 1x1 20mm FlaK 30 AA gun (Type IXD2) Medium range: 1×1 37mm (1.5 in) SK C/30 AA gun (all hulls) Quick history: The Type IX U-boat was designed by Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine in 1935 and 1936 as a large ocean-going submarine for sustained operations far from the home support facilities. Type IX boats were briefly used for patrols off the eastern United States in an attempt to disrupt the stream of troops and supplies bound for Europe. It was derived from the Type IA, and appeared in various sub-types. Notes: Type IXD was significantly longer and heavier than the IXC/40. It was faster than the IXC but at the cost of slightly reduced range. There were three variants: the IXD1, IXD2 and IXD/42. Also- Tier IX is Type IX :) In World of Warships: In comparison to previous tier, Type IX has more torpedoes, better AA (but worse than U-Flak hull), more hit points, air, better secondary armament, worse concealment, worse maneuverability. There are 3 hulls: Type IXA- stock hull Type IXC- more hit points, faster reload for torpedoes, slightly more air Type IXD2-more hit points -slightly faster reload (but little bit worse than TypeIXC) -worse maneuverability and concealment (compare to both hulls) -faster on surface, slower while submerged Type IX Tier X Type XXI Displacement: -surfaced: 1,621 t -submerged: 1,819 t Length: 76.70 m Beam: 8 m Draught: 6.32 m Speed: -surfaced: 15.6 knots -submerged: 17.2 knots Secondary armament: none Torpedoes: -bow: 6×1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes AA defence: Short range: 2x2 20 mm C/30 anti-aircraft guns Quick history: They were the first submarines designed to operate primarily submerged, rather than spending most of their time as surface ships that could submerge for brief periods as a means to escape detection. They incorporated a large number of batteries to increase the time they could spend under water, to as much as several days, and they only needed to surface to periscope depth for recharging via a snorkel. The design included many general improvements as well: much greater underwater speed by an improved hull design, greatly improved diving times, power-assisted torpedo reloading and greatly improved crew accommodations. Notes: The pinnacle of German engineering. In World of Warships: In comparison to previous tier, Type XXI has massive forward fire power (but no secondary armament), better concealment than Type IXD2, little bit more hit points (in comparison to Type IXD2), more hit points than Type IXA and Type IXC. She also has better maneuverability and more air (slightly), but most importantly - she has much better speed, while submerged. Type XXI Alternative branch If you want more agressive style gameplay. Characteristics of this alternative branch: -less hit points -less fire power and AA -much better concealment -less air, but with faster replenishment -fast torpedo reload -fast speed, while submerged Tier IX Type XXIII Displacement: -surfaced: 234 t -submerged: 258 t Length: 34.68 m Beam: 3.02 m Draught: 3.66 m Speed: -surfaced: 9.7 knots -submerged: 12.5 knots Secondary armament: none Torpedoes: -bow: 2×1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes AA defence: Short range: none Quick history: When development began on the Type XXI U-boat in late 1942, it was proposed to simultaneously develop a smaller version incorporating the same advanced technology to replace the Type II coastal submarine. The Type XXIII had an all-welded single hull, the first submarine to use such a design. As with the Type XXI, the Type XXIII was intended to be constructed in sections, various modules being produced by different subcontractors. Of the 280 submarines ordered, only 61 entered service, and only 6 ever carried out a war patrol. Notes: In game, speed on surface would be higher. Maybe she could have freezing torpedoes (if you don't know, what it is, look at the Halloween event in 2018)? In World of Warships: In comparison to tier IX counterpart- Type IX: Type XXIII has worse speed on surface and better speed when submerged and much better maneuverability. Type XXIII has no AA or secondary armament. Type IX has more air, that replenises more slowly. Type XXIII has better concealment. Type IX has much more torpedoes, but they reload slower. Type XXIII Tier X Type XVII B Displacement: -surfaced: 312 t -submerged: 337 t Length: 41.45 m Beam: 4.50 m Draught: 4.30 m Speed: -surfaced: 8.8 knots -submerged: 5 knots (electric drive) 25 knots (HTP drive) Secondary armament: none Torpedoes: -bow: 2x1 53.3 cm (21 in) torpedo tubes AA defence: Short range: none Quick history: The Type XVII U-boats were small coastal submarines that used a high-test peroxide propulsion system, which offered a combination of air-independent propulsion and high submerged speeds. The Type XVIIA submarines were found to be very hard to handle at high speed, and were plagued by numerous mechanical problems, low efficiency, and the fact that a significant amount of power was lost due to increased back pressure on the exhaust at depth. Also, the length to beam ratio was too low, resulting in an unnecessarily high drag. All three completed Type XVIIB boats were scuttled by their crews at the end of World War II. Notes: Type XVII B shouldn't have permanent speed of 25 knots, while under water. It would be hard to kill her. In World of Warships: Same armament as Type XIII, but with slightly faster reload and slightly more air. Big difference is speed. She can have speed up to 25 knots (HTP drive), while submerged. This is little bit too much, so I think I have a solution. This speed could be achived only, if "HTP drive" consumable would be active. This consumable has infinite charges, but has cooldown of 60 seconds (+-, I can't say if it is too long or short...) and it would be active for 30 seconds (again, don't know if it is too much or too short...). Type XVII Premium: Tier V Type U 151 Displacement: -surfaced: 1,512 tones -submerged: 1,875 tones Length: 65.00 m Beam: 8.90 m Draught: 5.30 m Speed: -surfaced: 12.4 knots -submerged: 5.2 knots Secondary armament: 2x1 150 mm (5.9 in) SK L/45 deck guns Torpedoes: -bow: 2x1 50 cm (20 in) bow torpedo tubes AA defence: Short range: none Quick history: Type U 151 U-boats were a class of large, long-range submarines initially constructed during World War I to be merchant submarines and later used by the Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial German Navy). They had a cruising range of around 25,000 nautical miles (46,000 km; 29,000 mi). Notes: This wouldn't be the only premium submarine. Germany has many special submarines. In World of Warships: This submarine rely more on her secondary armament. Every other submarine has secondary armamenr more as last solution, rather then a weapon. She has more hit points, worse concealment, worse maneuverability than her tier V counterpart. Type U 151 Summary: This tech tree has can be divided into: -starting submarines for begginers -proper (and bigger) ocean submarines- Type VII -high tier submarines- big ocean submarines and agressive submarines General characteristics of this tech tree: -good mix of maneuverability, speed, hit points (exept fo alternative branch) and torpedo armament -submarines would have less hit points that destroyers-> the least hit points from game (exept for Type U 5151). However, thanks to small size and good concealment and mainly to ability to be submerged, they aren't that easy to kill. Usually, I want to compare my fan-made tech tree to other branches, but here it is impossible. If submarines would be implemented in WoWs, there would be a lot of changes: -captain skill -new anti-submarine warfare -new styles of gameplay -rework of maps One thing is certain, if we will see submarines in WoWs or not, that will reveil only the time. If I could choose only 1 submarine, that I want to play, than it would be Type VIIC - classic German submarine, robust, efficient, time-tested... German Tech tree- Submarines I will be glad if you leave your comment below. I hope you enjoyed this article and have a nice day. 24. Hi everyone. I've decided to add German DDs to the lines that I'm actively grinding – as opposed to the many that are just there for when I need a change. I seem to remember hearing that – in contrast to the German CAs – the DDs' HE is pretty anaemic for the class, but on a decent target the AP can do significant damage thanks (in part?) to a shorter fuse time. First of all, please do correct my if I've misunderstood something there. Second, I wondered if anyone could tell me if that's the case through the whole line, and if not, where does it start to be the case? I've tried searching the wiki on the second point, but have come up empty – possibly my fault rather than the wiki's – so figured I'd ask here. Cheers
  25. Full Metal Poi! - Yuudachi kawai desu~! Discord: FMP About us: We are a casual clan that has arisen from the depths of the seas a year ago, founded by Ichikun98. It was a stick up of people met in battles as well as those who got sucked in by Ichis awesomeness on in-game chat channel "Battle results and discussion" and joined him on his adventure. Up till now it had its best and worst moments. Now we are freshly after redesigning of the clans core, so that people can integrate more and enjoy the game together to the fullest. Our clans objective is to get better at the game as well as develop new tactics that can be implemented into the randoms and clan wars. Due to the nature of our clan, that has a weeb connection due to name. We also possess quite a lot of human resources called weebs at our disposal and facilities keeping them in tip-top condition. What FMP offers: # +54% WR , 36/50 members # A friendly community consisting of members from all over the world # Clan benefits from facilities # Mates to division with. Requirements: Being casual clan means we are not going to watch over your WR that much (At least keep it above 50%). The only general number on your profile we care is if you have over 1k battles in randoms. You need to have at least 1 T10 ship with good stats respectable to the ship type. Also we need to pump out that oil from the containers to donate to our American friends so that they wont invade us (One container a day, keeps US army away). One of other requirements is using discord as voice communicator as well as text one, to keep up to date with clan matters. ( Discord ) Also due to being open to the world, being in the clan requires you to use mostly english and understand it. What to do once on discord? Hit up the Chief (Ichi) or one of the Admirals (Bonta3000, Cr4zy, Tjntin, Panzer_FTW) to evaluate your application. Spread the poi! To the non-poilievers! Heres a small treat.
