  1. [ICI] The Institute for Casual International Gamers Who are we? The Institute for Casual International Gamers (or ICI Gamers for short) is a multi-gaming community founded in 2013 by a small group of friends. If you are the type of person that doesn't want to commit to one particular game for a period of time but, rather, play a variety of games then we might be the home for you. "World of Warships" is a title that we've been playing since the beta days with a tight group of people. What are we about? The thing about ICI Gamers is that we are definitely defined as a "fun" community as is. This doesn't mean that we don't want to do some of the more serious things like Clan Battles but we emphasize fun and just fun banter/chatting. The chatting part for us is more important than the actual activity in-game. We understand people might have a wife/kids/school/other obligations that prevent them from gaming 24/7 so this is definitely not a requirement. Having said that we like to get to know our members in somewhat more detail and we believe that talking to one another over voice comms like Discord is the way to go. In order to join us there are a few minimal requirements/things to note such as: *We use Discord (click here to join) *Captains must have a minimum overall WR of around 48% or higher (and be showing signs of wanting to improve) *Captains must have at least one Tier VI non-premium ship *Captains must be willing to use Discord when they want to division. Let's face it; The game is more fun when talking to your teammates instead of having a silent potato team *Be polite/respectful towards other players within and, more importantly, outside our community *You must be at least 21 years of age *Preferably based in either GMT/GMT+1/GMT+2 timezone Member capacity: 29/40 (NOTE: We are looking for active VOICE members!) What can we offer? *Often great humor and some random banter *Active team play in divisions *A vibrant International Discord community Current Clan Bonuses: Our hours of operations: When are we online? Well the most active periods on Discord are: Sunday - Thursday: 19:00 - 23:00 GMT+1 We're also, generally, online in the weekend but these times vary due to real life obligations (which is fine) So have you read all this and are still interested in joining? Feel free to join us on Discord or DM us on Discord: - BDubzZz86#4203 - sc0ut#6487 -Aexra#4930 LAST UPDATE: 23-04-2020

    Dmitri Donskoi and Moskva captain

Hi I very recently got the Chapayev and it has a 10 point captain (usual stuff PT, IFHE, etc.) Since I want to keep my Chapayev (I put the Infernal camo on it) do I get a new captain? IFHE is mostly useless on Dmitri and the Moskva so now I'm kinda stuck. (Yes I know I won't have Dmitri for a while but I'd like to have an idea of what to do when I get there) Thanks!

    The CV Captains Cabin

I thought i would make a post/area for all of us remaining die-hard CV captains that are left. To share ideas, tactics, advice or anything that is on your mind. We all know how CVs have changed over the years to the point that we are now at. Our planes being obliterated, our targets becoming less and less obvious and being restricted to a spotting or DD hunting role. But i'm not complaining chaps, we CV players have a stiff upper lip and just roll with the AA punches. Lets use this to help other noobie CV players trying to find their CV feet and give them a chance to get past tier 7, if they are a sucker for punishment. Lets try and keep CVs from disappearing from this lovely game, so we can have enough players to keep within are own tiers, not playing 2 tier higher games that suck you know what (tier 6 planes on a tier 7 CV that play at tier 9 games) But most important of all, lets use this to have a beer and talk about the good old days and share stories. To give advice to the new generation and to warn them of things still to come. To share options on updates that effect the way we roll. Battle reports that show all is not lost. The door is always open to other Captains that wanna share a friendly drink, after all, we are all captains trying to get through this. Mess rules apply and gentlemanly conduct is a given. Now, where is my gin and tonic
  4. Warning: this is a very sad and touching, yet possibly educational story. Hi everyone, my name is Maurice Harper and I'm one of the oldies. I was there in July of 2015, when it all started. I was the one who figured out what a St. Louis was. And then there was the three St. Louis -division and after that the original, completely bonkers Cleveland. The rest of the grind to Des Moines was a bit of a nightmare, but eventually it was worth it and I got to captain the 3rd T10 ship on the account. During the first clan wars season I captained what was basically the only radar ship of the clan, it was glorious fun. I have history and memories. Achievements and victories, 19 points of experience. What I don't have is a job. I don't even mind the likes of Halsey - a truly legendary character - but I do mind it a bit when John Jack Jake Jill Does get boosted to 19 points with experience I earned and then they steal my job just because they are simply better. Who cares about history when you can get better performance out of some no-name new guy. Hi everyone, my name is Ryo Fuwa and I'm also one of the oldies from July 2015. I have sailed so many Kazes that nobody invites me to any parties because I still stink of dead baby seals. I probably hold all kinds of records in devastating strikes and I was the dude who finally got that super annoying liquidator-achievement for that one annoying campaign mission. I was the first captain to reach 19 points. I still have a job. For now. It's an honor to fight alongside Mr. Yamatomato, but it's only a matter of time when I'm replaced by Squiggles Doe or something pointless like that. When that happens, I will have so many glorious stories to tell - so much history - but nobody will listen. Hi everyone, I'm a cute Anime Princess. I'm not that old (all actors depicted above 18 yo), but I'm cute and funny and that's why there once was a plan for boosting a bunch of Anime Princesses to 19 points and replacing IJN captains with us. That plan is no more. It would be pure waste of captain XP, since eventually there will be superior "special" captains to replace all of us who don't have superhuman abilities. Same goes for Dashas, cats, dragons, Jinglesesses and other weird and funny animals - unless they get some extra bonuses to make them useful. That makes me very sad and since I'm very cute, you should feel sad for me unless you're dead inside or something. What plan to replace IJN captains with Anime Princesses? All of the above people(?) have two things in common: they are interesting or funny in some ways and they have no special skills, which means that their days are eventually numbered. And that's a lot of potential wasted. The game should celebrate their achievements and history, showcase their service records and make you care about them. Remember the captain you sailed to your first rank 1 with or your first solo warrior? Or did you know that one dude(tte) who seems to sail with krakens every time you go to battle together? Do you remember who was the captain who got you your first Tier 10 ship? I do, he's currently out of a job thanks to Yamamoto. All of the above are things the game should help you remember and celebrate, but it does the polar opposite. The constant flow of special skills captains make all of the oldies and funny special captains irrelevant - the characters you really should care about. Why would I pay for a cute anime princess if she will sooner or even sooner be replaced with someone who is just better in battle? When we finally got Dasha captains I didn't even get one, since there was no room for her in my fleet captained by a number of much less special but a bit more capable captains. This is all very unnecessary, though. Instead of John Jack Jake Jill Does, give us skill sets that can be assigned to existing captains just like permanent camoflages of old (that could not be removed). These could be rewards for missions or sold in stores like the "special" captains are now - or you could have country-specific missions like the ones for ship special modules. Start collecting (or showcase already collected) statistical data for captains. What ships they have sailed, how many games, the number of krakens and confederates, anniversary bonuses for every year they've served in your fleet and so on. The possibilities are endless. Compared to carrierpocalypse or other major current questions this might sound like a small issue, which it by all means is. However, adding personality to and making you care about your captains could add to the gameplay experience in a fairly cost-effective manner. Don't make us choose between fun and effective, when there is no reason for them to be mutually exclusive. Jingles is finally about to be a character in the game, but if he doesn't have special skills, he will eventually be pointless. Which is kind of sad.
  5. Several commanders have been announced for WOWS Legends, the Xbox One and PS4 version of WOWS, as can be seen at 0:09 minutes in this video: Based on that link the WOWS artwork for these Commanders has already been completed: USA William Sims Norman Scott William Halsey (already included in WOWS PC) JAPAN Togo Heihachiro Raizo Tanaka Isoroku Yamamoto (already included in WOWS PC) POLAND Jerzy Swirski GERMANY Maximillian von Spee The above mentioned eight WOWS Legends (Xbox One, PS4) commanders are all based on real world naval officers, six of them are not currently available in WOWS PC. In WOWS PC the current two Legendary Commanders Yamamoto and Halsey are also based on real world naval officers and the WOWS PC Unique Commanders (of which there are currently ten) are not. Generally speaking the WOWS PC Legendary Commanders offer more interesting special/bonus features than the WOWS PC Unique Commanders. It would be nice if we could get some more information from the side of WOWS representatives when WOWS PC will also get the above mentioned six new Legendary Commanders, hopefully that will be in early 2019. Since WOWS Legends (Xbox One, PS4) will go live in 2019 with these eight Legendary Commanders it would make sense to also add the above mentioned six new Legendary Commanders to WOWS PC in 2019 to keep things fair. Especially if we take the statement given at 1:32 minutes in this video at face value: "WOWS PC along with you guys, our players, is the most valuable thing, for many of us and for the studio in general." - Philip "SUB_OCTAVIAN" Molodkovets
  6. Ahoy! For our clan ZEN (Zestful European Navy), we are looking for 3 more clanmates! edit: 2 more clanmates! We just celebrated our 1st birthday (founded 21st Sep. 2017) and are happy with the 47 Captains we have on board with us now. There is room for 3 more: edit - 2 more: - looking for courageous and enthousiastic World of Warships players who go into battle regularly (*) - with tier 10 experience and at least 1 tier 10 ship in port - Teamwork is more important to us than stats & win-rate! (*) if you're planning a sabbatical, fine -- just please let us know beforehand, not after ;-) Specifically, we seek players who can also stand a defeat (without going into rage every time). People who want to win, but are also able to just enjoy a good fight with fun & challenging ships! We use Teamspeak (mandatory for clan battles) and an availability calendar for clan battles. We try to help and support eachother, and stand our ground together. Interested? Send me a PM, contact me in game or reply here. Looking forward to hearing from you! Midway 67 Commander - Clan ZEN *** We speak English *** Wir sprechen Deutsch *** Wij spreken Nederlands *** On parle Français *** Hablamos Español *** (true to European internationality - our clanmates are, a.o., from Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Sweden and the U.K.)
  7. What do people tend to get as 5th skill? grind for a second 4th tier skill or get something else like a 1, 2 or 3 tier skill more quickly?
  8. Hia folks, sorry if these are noob questions, have been out of the game for severall months... I have my eye on the british carrier line (yes, I know we are still a long ways off from that). For that I was thinking of training up a captain so as to switch him when the CV comes up. Is this a good idea? What are the problems with it?
  9. I just wanted to ask if WG has any plans to bring the second High School Fleet Girls collaboration from Japan over to us EU chaps and if we would be able to obtain anything through missions or something? To my knowledge so far, from what was mentioned at the venue this second collaboration event was announced at. The following content is planned and/or possible. - 4 Character Silhouettes for Captains were shown at the announcement event. (Potential for new captains?) Noted in the article of the above picture; - Some voices were also released at the venue. - Isoroku (The cat from the anime) has a Camo/skin for the Harekaze ship. Noted in the article, it stated these images were sent from the Russian Development team. - Although it did no appear in the anime, A Yu Ocean School Yamato Camo/Skin. Sources: News from Japanese gaming news site Famitsu [Link 1] and [Link 2] (Apologies for I am not sure what other tags I could add to the post)
  10. Before we proceed, as happens with any anime topic, please keep it civil. I do understand some of you do not like it, some of you do. Arguing over it is pointless though. So, now that we are on topic, I have an image to show you. COVER YOUR EYES, IT'S ANIME Now, those of us who went and bought those HSF ships, may notice we only got the commanders. WG though, clearly has sprites for the XO's as well. Now i've been wondering, are those captains we get from missions down the line, or will they not be available?
  11. It is here update 0.6.9 What will it bring besides the Yamamoto Campaign, it does have something very rewarding for you as a player especially when, - You are a fan of Arp Ships - You have a Dragon ship (or two) - If you do have an IJN Captain - You like to train your Captain with incredible speed to 19 - You kept all those Arp and Dragon Ships Well, something you might have missed in the update from Dasha, that in this new update 0.6.9, Captain from IJN are now fully interchangeable with both ARP and Dragon Ships So now an x3 exp for the first win and you have an IJN Captain, comes to if you still have all 9 Arp Ships and the Southern Dragon that would bring you 11 times, x3 exp for your IJN Captain. And then there are also some extras like signals not included. So in a short time, this will lead to a 19 point IJN Captain. And that my dear friends will lead to you yes you guessed it! 11 times XP multiplier a day (and your signal multiplier), which leads to in a short time very much Captain exp for free which you can then also use on your other Nation Captains. So my guess would be to see a lot of ARP and Dragon Ship in the times to come Dutchdelightsnl
  12. Hello captains, As you all know the standard reserve for captains is 8 slots and can be increased with doubloons. Every captains who comes from sold ships and can't enter reserve will automatically be dismissed and disapear forever. And now I started to get really angry at my fleet of fog Hiei captains. Doing all missions I ended up with 3 of them so why can't we dismiss the other 2. They are useless. I lost Lexi's captain cose I didn't knew my space was covered by that 2 and didn't even checked the reserve after selling the ship as I knew I should have had space. I think developers should add the ability to dismiss FOF captains. What do you think?
  13. With the new flood of premium ships into most captains' docks, I am sure that many people are enjoying seal clubbing in the premium Minekaze and the tier 2 St. Louis. With the new changes to captain skills though, there is a problem that arises. That problem comes in the new torpedo captain skill that speeds up the torpedo in exchange for range. I personally love the IJN destroyers, but I must still say that something like the Kamikaze very difficult to use if the range is cut down when I'm training a carrier captain or a high tier destroyer captain inside her. This will be a problem I think, because I will need to use her to train the captains of other ships who need the high speed torpedoes but she needs the range to kill the enemies efficiently. I think therefore that we should introduce a system that allows us the option to disable a captain skill that we don't need on a particular ship when we're using premium ships to retrain the captain. I think that this addition will be very useful for the future when other captain skills come in that require us to trade certain traits for others.
  14. Currently, Captain skills are in my opinion, not fun or interesting in any sort. I have several complaints: First, segmentation. You play a BB? Take theese skills. You play a Carrier? It is IMPERATIVE you take these skills instead. You get where im going at? There is little to no choice on what you actually pick up. Well, you DO have a choice, but if you pick the wrong skill you suddenly find yourself at a disadvantage. That is especially true for carrier players. Not only that, but if you pick up the wrong skill and dont have any gold, say good bye to that captain, go train annother, since skill redistribution only happens with gold. (srsly cant we pay some hefty silver sum at least?) Thirdly, retraining of captains to ships. If you have a nicely trained captain, it is a SLOG to actually retrain him to a new ship, which will in most cases be new and stock, which, again, would reduce your effectiveness instead of increace it (you are going UP a tier and you face tougher opponents, yet your previous tier is stronger...wut) Fourth on the list is the huge fail of putting skills for 155mm guns (and smaller) only, while completely forgetting all other guns in the game. Id say those must be offed. Fifth, Situational Awareness. This skill IMO should not be a skill but just DD and CA/CL Exclusive, or be removed from the game whatsoever. Real player skill should dictate whether or not they expect a DD to torp them from the shadows, for example. So what are our options? I dare say the captain skill tree must be improved. Captains shouldnt have skills that increace the effectiveness of a ship too much also, since that gives an advantage over a guy without a trained captain. It should be kinda like this: A tier one choice must be a small improvement Also, no class must have clear advantages from the skills. That way the choice is a choice, and that is important, depending on your personal playstyle. Engine Mainteance: Your crew maintains the engine of your ship regularily, and it is more responsive. you get +10% to acceleration and braking speed. Navigation Mastery: Training and coordination has made your crew extremely responsive to your commands.-10% to rudder shift time. (% are example and not real, also the names) Helmsman fitness regimen: Your skipper has gone to fitness and is now stronger while spinning the wheel. -10% to turning radius. Now, a savvy DD skipper will instantly take all three tier 1 skills maybe, but he will be missing on more important skills down the line, and so on. Please tell if you too have some ideas or if you agree/disagree with me.
