    Gnevny

On a l'habitude.

    [Question] Omaha crew skill(s)

Hey Fellow WoW Captains, Let's introduce myself a little bit (yeeeey my first topic on WoW), first i took a long brake from Warships (was playing more tanks and some other games), second after not playing 1 year and half maybe longer or maybe less i thought i would suck when playing again (1 week so far) but actually i had pretty good games on my Omaha so far anyway let' get to the point and explain my question. I've read (most posts were from 2016 or older) that allot of ppl use "Vigilance" skill for the 3th skill for Omaha tier 5 American cruiser. Personal i have a double feeling about that skill coz i rarely use my torpedoes and 25% bigger range its about 1 km more range if i didnt calculated wrong. Most of the time i'm lowest tier, if a tier 6- 7 comes closer i try to keep them on my maximum gun distance so i dont use torpedoes in this situation. When playing this game for 1 week, i used my torpedoes twice i know it's not allot but what do you think i should do? What is your opinion about the 3th skill on Omaha? Pls explain why, vigilance or..... ? Thanks in advance and big love on the forums but destruction in the water! *edit* You can always say what skills your captain have with a small explanation if you want :)

    Premiumvergleich T5 BBs

Oh look, another tier 5 post.

Just recently got myself a Koenigsberg and I gotta say, jumping from the... sigh... Myogi... (god I hate that thing) I am really enjoying it. The spread is far better than its tier 4 predecessor, gun positions suit me well enough, I can make BBs burn like hells fires at just about any range, taking out cruisers isn't too hard either, and the spread... MY GOD YES. This is the first time I fire and shells actually go where I aimed. My first ever salvo in tier 5 and I hit all 9 shots. However, good things aside I do have a problem. I have so far played 4 or 5 games in tier 5 (cant remember) and only the first one was tier 5 v tier 5, the rest were 2-4 tier 5 ships, 2-4 tier 6 ships and the rest tier 7. After reading up on the forums I understand that tier 3-4 are now protected so I can forget about bashing lower tier ships. I also understand that a lot of people know this is the problem with tier 5-6 so less people play it making the problem even worse. And I also understand that tier 6 is only slightly better so I shouldn't get my hopes up to much. ( IF YOU DONT FEELING LIKE READING EVERYTHING, THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART ) Knowing all of this how should I approach these battles? Is there a specific strategy that I should adapt, certain upgrades that are a must have, try to stay back, play in a division, etc. Or should I just suck it up, put my big boy pants on play as I do usually and let most ships tear my a**hole apart until I can get a tier 7 cruiser? PS: I wont be replying soon as I am way bed tired and bed only thing I can think bed is my bed. sh*t I really need some sleep.

Elimination thread number Two: Tier V

*Thread completed! The winner is Gremy (of course)* The next elimination thread: coming soon to a forum near you! Hello everyone! (Yes I know I seem incapable of starting with anything else) Following a request, I have decided to recreate the tier X elimination thread, this time for tier V. "Why tier 5?" Because A: more people can participate, B: it will give new players a better indication of what ships are good/bad and C: I was asked to do it for this tier. same rules apply as the last thread, excluding the requirement for playing tier X Rules: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/65517-tier-x-elimination-thread-warships-edition/ Starting list: Bogue (2/0/1): 20 Bogue (1/1/0): 20 Bogue (0/1/2): 20 New York: 20 Texas: 20 Omaha: 20 Marblehead: 20 Nicholas: 20 Zuiho (1/1/2): 20 Zuiho (1/2/1): 20 Kongo: 20 Furutaka: 20 Kamikaze/Fujin: 20 Minekaze: 20 Gnevny: 20 Gremy: 20 Kirov: 20 Murmansk: 20 Kazny Krym: 20 Konig: 20 Konigsberg: 20 Emerald: 20 Latest list: Bogue (2/0/1): Eliminated Bogue (1/1/0): Eliminated Bogue (0/1/2): Eliminated New York: Eliminated Texas: Eliminated Omaha: Eliminated Marblehead: Eliminated Nicholas: Eliminated Zuiho (1/1/2): Eliminated Zuiho (1/2/1): Eliminated Kongo: Eliminated Furutaka: EliminatedKamikaze/Fujin: Eliminated Minekaze: Eliminated Gnevny: Eliminated Gremy: 30 *Winner* Kirov: Eliminated Murmansk: Eliminated Krasny Krym: Eliminated König: Eliminated Königsberg: Eliminated Emerald: Eliminated Final list: 6th: Konigsberg 7th: Minekaze 8th: Murmansk 9th: Nicholas 10th: Texas 11th: Furutaka 12th: Bogue (1/1/0) 13th: Zuiho (1/1/2) 14th: Omaha 15th: Kirov 16th: Gnevny 17th: Bogue (0/1/2) 18th: Marblehead 19th: New York 20th: Kazny Krym 21st: Bogue (2/0/1) 22nd and last: Emerald Ze Top 5: The bottom three and why they finished there: Kazny Krym: "Sorry, bro. Go back to tier 4" It is beyond doubt that the Kazny Krym is a bad ship, but why exactly is that? The answer to that is simple: Its class. The Crispy Creme is a Svietlana class light cruiser, which is a tier 4 with rather small guns. The Crispy Creme, while better than the Svietlana, is not better enough to justify moving up one tier. The result is a decent tier 4 cruiser with tier 5 matchmaking, not a recipe for a good ship. Air Superiority Bogue: "Literally removing one of your team's ships from the game" The AS Bogue is incredibly annoying to play against for the enemy carrier player, and makes it almost impossible for them to have any significant impact on the game. However, paradoxically, the AS Bogue is also completely useless, unless the captain plays a perfect game. The AS loadout has such a low strike capability that even a single partially successful strike from the enemy CV has achieved more than the AS captain will all game, making this loadout completely useless. Emerald: "You seem to have spelt 'floating citadel' wrong" The Emerald could have been a good ship. It has smoke, hydro, a heal ability, sports car acceleration and decent speed. While top tier, it can do a reasonable job. However, the Emerald, when thrown into tier 7 games, is terrible. It only has a six gun broadside or the same guns the RN CLs have been using since tier 3, which do almost nothing to tier 7s, while tier 7s can exploit its massive weakness: being a giant box of fireworks that goes *BANG* more easily than even the Kirov. Even worse, tier 7 radar cruisers like Belfast can spot it inside its only protection: its smoke. Unfortunately, the Emerald gets shafted very, very hard by tier 5 matchmaking, constantly thrown into tier 7 games. If you ever want to know what it's like to drive an oil tanker that's full while people fire missiles at you, buy an Emerald. Let it begin! (again)

    How do I Gnevny?

Well, the title says it all. I just unlocked it, but have no idea how to play it. It obviously isn't like anything I've played before, except the Ognevoi about a year ago. Tips would be appreciated, full guides or videos, even better.

    Schlachter sucht Schlachter

  10. My proposal for a tier V British Premium, the HMS Canada.-Who is the HMS Canada? The HMS Canada served in the British Royal Navy from September of 1915 until 1920 when she was re-purchased by the Chile Navy. She was laid down in 1911, and was Launched in November of 1914 under the name of Almirante Latorre and served for Chile for just 9 monthes before being re-purchased and re-named to HMS Canada by the Royal Navy with the break out of WWI. After she was in service with the Royal Navy, she was slightly modified for British usage, including the bridge being taken off in favor of two open platforms, and a mast was added in between the two funnels to support a derrick that would service launches of sea planes. She Initially served as part of the 4rth squadron of the Grand Fleet, and first saw action in the battle of Jutland, suffering no damage. She was then in 1916 transferred to the 1st battle squadron, and upgraded with better range finders, and 2 of her aft secondary 6 inch guns were removed as they were damaged from the middle 14 inch turret firing. Later on she received another refit to add additional launch platforms on top of the super firing turrets both on the front and aft of the ship. She was moved into the reserve of Royal navy ships in March of 1919, where she would wait for 13 monthes until being re-purchased by Chile in April 1920, where she was re-named to Almirante Latorre yet again. -She is one of a kind, Seriously! The HMS Canada is one of 2 Almirante Latorre class Super-Dreadnoughts ordered by Chile, however, the 2nd ship of the class, the Almirante Cochrane was never completed. Laid down in 1913, with construction continuing until 1918 when Britain re-purchased the ship, and started converting her into an aircraft carrier, completed in 1924, under the new name of the HMS Eagle. The HMS Eagle served in the Royal Navy for 18 years until she was sunk by U-Boat 73 in the battle of Malta. No other orders for Almirante Latorre class ships were ever ordered or built, making the HMS Canada absolutely unique. To this day a few parts of the HMS Canada still exist, as parts for the IJN Mikasa, (now to this day a museum ship) which were fitted on for her restoration after Japan bought the HMS Canada from Chile for scrap in 1959. Why bring her into World of Warships? -She has some unique aspects to her. Comparatively to other ships currently in the game, she probably like a new york class battleship in main armament, with more beefy but less in quantity secondary armaments. In the regard of fanbase, you would be hitting 2 birds with one stone, British and Canadian players. In regards to the economics of her as a premium ship, she would do well to, well, satisfying the entire Canadian player base such as myself, especially given Canadian designed ships are few in number and would otherwise not be introduced for a long time, possibly not for years after WoWS goes live. To differentiate her from the Warspite for British ship fans, if she is placed at a different tier then the Warspite, she could be a cheaper option. To super strong British fans, who would want to train their British commanders faster, having a second British ship to put them on would be useful further bringing an the appeal. Furthermore, given her more aggressive gun layout, she may be a more attractive option for gameplay prospect/playstyle, where as the Warspite is more attractive to the history buff fans.Gameplay Statistics: -Tier V PremiumArmament:-10 x 14inch main guns -16 x 152mm scondary guns (Unless we go to the modified variant of the ship which only has 14) -2 x 3 in (76 mm) anti-aircraft guns -4 x 3-pounder guns (Dual Purpose?)-4 Submerged Torpedo 21inch (533mm) tubes (If that gameplay element is ever added)My assessment on the armament is she would be on par with the new york, able to be aggressive, good armament for close range DDs, but susceptible to planes/aircraft. Her main guns could reach a max range of 33km, given WoWS uses effective firing ranges as max ranges, I'd estimate they'd be about 18km. Maneuverability -22 Knots max speed -other in game characteristics unknown My assessment/guess, based on the diagram showing she has 1 rudder and 4 propellers, she is likely the opposite to the Warspite in that the Canada would have good acceleration but slow/large turning radius.Armor: -250 mm (Barbettes and Turrets) -230mm (Belt) -280mm (Conning Tower)-38mm (Deck)Assessment, She is less armored then the new york of the same tier, but better consistent armor then the Kongo Final Assessment on her potential Gameplay:-She feels different then other ships around her in my suggested tier. Her Gameplay would be unique, comparatively to what is in the game currently (patch 0.3.1). I feel she would be good in just an outright slug fest, could hold her own against her main rivals, the Kongo and the New York, as tier 5 battleships are concerned. Her drawbacks being slow and poor AA, her strengths being main and secondary armaments, as well as possibly good acceleration. Her Gameplay is unique, different from the Warspite, and probably alot of fun, and a good chance to appease the canadian player base (even though this ships association to Canada is its name only), as that would otherwise be a long off goal, making us canadians such as myself sad, as we did have the one of the largest navies in WWII. Hope you enjoyed the read, took me a couple of hours to write this (I run a duplicate article on NA)~Just a Canadian player in a game of war.
  11. So after last patch 0.5.4.1 I noticed less income, especially at Tier 5. Today I did my first game of the day (Patch 0.5.4.2) in a kirov, was a decent game with about 50k damage done and a win. Last patch that would give me at least 130000 plus silver. A few patches ago good to decent games in the Nicholas or so would give me about 250k silver. Today I recieved 800xp on the winning side and a measly 88k sliver for a 50k damage-top-of-my-team win in the Kirov. I don't see anything in the patch notes about this stuff?
  12. This video is part 1 of the Tier 5 Battleship Armor Modeling and Citadel breakdown video series. This video looks into the Kongo and the Wyoming's ability to citadel a New York. To test this out shots were aimed at the boiler room and underneath the turrets. Training room sessions were recorded to backup the findings. Tests with the Kongo will be provided in a future video coming later this week. Let me know what you all think! The Taste Channel https://www.youtube....ldHT-w/featured World of Warships - Tier 5 Battleship Armor Modeling and Citadel Breakdown (Part 1) This is the 2nd video of the tier 5 battleship armor modeling series. This video details the Kongo, the Wyoming and the Nagato's ability to citadel a Kongo at the boiler room and underneath the turret. It definitely points out how big of a beast the Kongo is in comparison to the New York. These areas were shot from various angles to best test the ships armor against varying caliber weaponry. Training room sessions were recorded to backup the findings. Let me know what you all think! World of Warships - Tier 5 Battleship Armor Modeling and Citadel Breakdown (Part 2)

    Ship Radios.

Good day everyone, Captain Green here. Today I call upon the gods of banter here on the WoW's mess room to help me with a challenge that I face. When I play World of Warships I prefer to go into combat with a bit of music blasting out in the background, a rather common thing I believe. However recently I have been looking for more suitable music that would go well to Gremeyaschy tier 5 Russian destroyer. I do not have a specific taste in music, anything between classical to rock. Please - If I replay Rollin Stones paint it black again Il cry. Many thanks.
