  2. Welcome everyone, Green here bringing you my second forum of the series on the UK Royal Navy. Today we are going to have an in-depth look at the UK class 23 frigates. The Type 23 class is the largest class of frigate constructed for the Royal Navy since the 26 ships of the leander class. Like the leanders they type 23 provides the back bone of the Royal Navy's anti sub frigate force, and with any luck should continue to do so for many more years. The ships where designed to complete that role in the rough waters of the North Atlantic using their towed array sonar. The Type 23 where the first stealthy ships to enter service in the Royal Navy with hull angled off the vertical to reduce a radar signature. After the Falklands war Harpoon anti-ship missiles and a 144 mm gun where added to give the design a better punch. The ships will also receive the new powerful towed sonar 2031Z which equips the ten of the class. This sonar will allow the ships to find much quieter modern submarines that may operate in inshore waters in the future. Further studies are in hand to find ways to extend the lives of these large and capable vessels and further enhancing their military capabilities.   3. Hello everyone, as I was playing with my Fuso VI battleship, I noticed that one cruiser and another battleship (both from Japan I believe) were using a flag that remined me of Great Britain. First of all, I would like to ask for the meaning of that British or English flag on a Japanese cruiser, and how can I obtain it too? also, what happens if I use it or not? Is it permanent, or just another consumable like signals? I also have other questions that I would like to ask to the european community, here they go: 1. Since I am a battleship lover, I do in most matches at least 4 to 5 citadel hits, mostly on enemy cruisers and battleships. Although, I have noticed that citadel hits can be easily executed by firing the shell so that it can land on the ship just above the waterline in order to penetrate it in the enemy ship easily. Am I correct? 2. What are ranked battles and team battles? I would like to someone to give me detailed information about those, and the releasing date for both of them. 3.     Royal Danish Navy

    This is a little about the biggest ship in the Danish navy, there are 2 of them: The Absalon class are support ships of the Royal Danish Navy, commissioned in 2005. The class is based on a frigate-like design, but built with an internal multipurpose deck (flex deck) and a stern vehicle ramp. The ships can serve as command platforms for a staff of 75 persons (naval or joint staff) with a containerized command and control centre, transport and base of operations for a company-sized landing force of some 200 men with vehicles. Alternatively, the flex deck can be used for mine-laying operations with a capacity of some 300 mines, or be fitted out for mine-clearing operations and launch and recover mine detecting and clearing equipment via a retractable gantry crane, adjacent to the stern ramp, which also is used for launching and recovering the fast landing craft. Furthermore the flex deck can support a containerized hospital or simply transport a number of ISO standard containers or some 55 vehicles including, up to 7 MBTs. The ships can carry two LCPs (Storebro SB90E), two rigid hull inflatable boats and two EH101 helicopters. The standard weapons of the Absalon class can be supplemented through the use of StanFlex mission modules. A special weapons deck (nicknamed the 'Bathtub') is designed with five StanFlex module slots. Because of the Bathtub's position, only missile-firing weapons modules can be installed.     Italian ship traits

    With the Italian fleet comming in the future what traits you think they will feature to feel unique? As far as I know both battleships and cruisers guns had very high muzzle velocity with Littorios having the highest from every major battleships of WWII. This could be balanced by increasing the shell dispersion. Another interesting thing about Littorios was the Pugilese system and auxiliary rudders that could come very handy in case of damage or jam of the main rudder. Therefore, it would be pretty nice if they would have slightly increased underwater protection and for example a -100% posibility of rudder jam. As for the cruisers Trentos could be distinct by their speed and Zaras by very high survivability due to their double armoured belt and deck.
  7. Frigate class F125 - A new ship for new tasks New framework: The Bundeswehr Concept sets out the framework for the development of the armed forces. Missions to international conflict prevention and crisis management, including the fight against international terrorism, determine the structure and equipment of the Bundeswehr.     Hi, My question is, along with the remaining nations, I know probably after we'll receive the US Battleships, and Japanese Aircraft Carriers, probably new nations will be added, when is the Austro-Hungarian Navy will be in? Also my opinion it could be a whole tech tree although it didn't have any aircraft carriers in WW1. I can't wait to play its ships, like SMS Szent István battleship.

    The Queen Elizabeth class is a class of two aircraft carriers being built for the Royal Navy. HMS Queen Elizabeth is expected to begin sea trials in 2017 with an initial operational capability in 2020; the decision whether to operate HMS Prince of Wales will not be taken until 2015. Her assembly is taking place in the Firth of Forth at Rosyth Royal Dockyard. She will be built from nine blocks built in six UK shipyards; BAE Systems Surface Ships in Glasgow, Babcock at Appledore, Babcock at Rosyth, A&P Tyne in Hebburn, BAE at Portsmouth and Cammell Laird (flight decks) at Birkenhead.[11][12] Two of the lower main blocks, together weighing more than 6,000 tonnes and forming part of the base of the ship, were assembled and joined into one piece on 30 June 2011.[13] On the 28 October 2012 an 11,000-tonne section of the carrier began a lengthy journey around the south coast of England (to avoid bad weather) from the shipbuilding hall at Govan, to the Rosyth dockyard; it arrived on 21 November. Weapons system Defensive weapons will include the Phalanx Close-In Weapons System for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defence; also 30mm Automated Small Calibre Guns and Mini Guns for use against fast attack craft. Highly Mechanised Weapon Handling System (HMWHS) Incorporated into the first two blocks is a sophisticated handling and deployment system for air weapons, with the aim of achieving a sortie generation rate which is about six times faster than any previous Royal Navy aircraft carrier. The system will require only 50 people and could be operated with as few as 12 in an emergency; it is estimated that 160 would be needed to produce the same efficiency with conventional equipment.     HMS Carlskrona

    HMS Carlskrona. Now lets get into business. You may or may not have heard of this ship. If you are from Sweden or Scandinavia you probably have heard of it. The ship was built in 1980 as a minelayer but was modified by the year of 2010 to become a patroll vessel. The ship is known as P04. HMS Carlskrona is Swedens longest ship by far and is currently serving down in Somalia guarding the shipping lines. The ship is armed with 1x Bofors 57mm cannon and 2x Bofors 47mm cannons. The captain of the ship is currently Mathias Jansson. The ship has had royal visits. The ship has even got an lawyer on it to ensure that no international rights are being broken.
