  3. I have three questions concerning the little floatplane fighter, that a lot ships are equipped with. Does the effect of disrupting the accuracy of torpedo spreads and bomb drops affect all enemy squadrons within AA range, or just the squadron that is currently under attack from the floatplane? If there are more than one enemy plane squadron within range, how does the floatplane decide which one to attack? And if I have two floatplanes active, will they always attack the same target? Is it possible to order the float plane to attack a certain enemy squadron, for example by Crtl-clicking on it and thus focus AA on it? And if this works, will it also make the fighter switch targets if it is already engaged? I ask this because I was only this morning attacked by two enemy squadrons, one dive bomber group and one with torpedo bombers. I was in my Kuma, and I had deployed my fighters, so I was a little surprised when the torpedo bombers managed to deploy a perfect spread; it very nearly sank me. Then it occurred to me that my fighters might have attacked the dive bombers instead, and I started wondering...
Merci.
  5. I just had another game in my Zuiho 1vs1 against a Bogue since Wargaming just seems to love to preferably pair Japanese against US and vice versa. And while I enjoy playing the Bogue for myself for what I regard obvious reasons I can't help but wonder why the 2 Fighter Squadron layout for the Bogue even exists. If you pick it you basically intend to ruin the game for the enemy carrier without anything he could do against it via sacrificing your own game for it. Everybody just loses. It's not like the japanese carrier wouldn't have a hard enough time with his inferior zeros being practically rendered useless even against a Bogue with the stock 1 Fighter 1 Torps layout (which I regard as the best and most well balanced) if the Bogue player knows what he's doing. If any Tier V carrier would have needed a two fighter squadron build it would rather have been the Zuiho yet even then I'd regard it as a waste. All you can hope for when you actually want to use your zeroes is to hope that the enemy will pick the no fighter setup for the bogue. Otherwise you're just constantly on the run with them. The existance of 2 US fighter squadrons just turns what should be a challenging game into pure absurdity.
  7. Hi all, I have one rather simple proposal for better Cruiser utilization vs. Destroyers (i.e. the task which should be primary task for every competent Cruiser captain)! Why not introduce the user directionable Fighter/Scout planes! We already have the mechanics for it (i.e. Carriers can direct their planes) - so only some sort of very simplified interface is needed for this... IMHO, that way players will be able, if their skill is up to that, to successfully detect and engage enemy destroyers... What do you think guys? Leo "Apollo11" P.S. BTW, we have many many games where there are no Carriers but where are lost and lots of Destroyers (on both sides) - this could most certainly help to "level the playing field"!
  8. Dealing with one Bogue isnt that bad on Zuiho. Obviously my fighters stands no chance against Bogue's fighters, i know that. Thats why i try to save my planes and avoid fighting them (unless they are weakened) and then attack with bombs/toprs when good situation happens. Bogue's fighters cannot cover entire map at same time. However, when mm throws in 2x Bogue in enemy team, im in trouble. Bad trouble. Two Bogues can have total 4 squadrons of fighters and each has 6 planes, total 24. That means there are so many planes that they can cover entire map with them, forcing me to stay entire battle behind my allied ships and be able to do nothing, and eventually they will kill me no matter where i go. Only hope basically is that someone finds Bogues and kills them. Im still a noob and learning this game, and there must be some kind of help at this situation. Or is this just some kind of thing you cant just deal with (in wot, there is few situations when mm can render you 100% useless, such as playing with O-I in open map and enemy team has 5 tier 8 arties, or stock tier 3 light against team mostly tier 5 heavies)? Needing help!
Was meinen die IJN CV Käptns dazu?
  12. So I started to Play with an aircraft carrier lately and experienced some crazy things I'd like to ask about: I mean it's simply logic that fighter planes from T4 Carrier lose against the one from T5 actually, but how can one T5 Fighter shoot down Torpedo Bombers and shortly before it shot the torp down, 2 of my fighters engage him. Result: 1 torp and 2 fighters shot down - and guess what: they're mine. How does that work? Second one, it was some sort of the other way around, two of my t5 fighters vs one of a t4, both t5 got shot down actually, and no, there was nothing else like AA or something. Third one, trying to give the Torpedo Bombers order to attack: Usually they start directly within a few seconds (2-5s) I guess, but then there are a few Players who seem like are able to block them from attacking (I had this Problem with the same Player three times). You give them the order to attack and they just start wasting time, flying around doing nothing so the supposed target can easily escape. It doesnt even work with changing attack Position or anything. So is it just Buggy as hell or are there any Bugs or similar ppl abuse? Ty and Sail Ho!
  13. Hello Ladies & Gents, I am wondering if the current commander skill set + the extra ship upgrades are not a bit too much together in regards to fighter damage and survivability? I don't know about the other classes but my impression is that they are a bit more diversified in terms of skills. What I mean is that with carriers you can stack up a huge bonus to your fighters, effectively out-classing any similar/same tier enemy squadron. (There are still imbalances between tiers in this regard so this makes the differences even worse.) Here is everything you can throw at it as far as I know (not counting regular plane upgrades): SKILL: Advanced Flight Training +5% survivability (general) SKILL: Dogfight +10% attack power to fighters SKILL: Air Supremacy +1 fighter plane per squadron (that's the equivalent of about 16% damage increase if the base squadron was 6 plane strong) UPGRADE: Air Groups Modification 1 +10% aircraft guns effectiveness UPGRADE: Air Groups Modification 2 +20% fighters survivability Now the wording is not always clear, but if I calculated right this means a potential +36% to damage and +25% to survivability. This is HUGE, and you can bet on it that I will take it all if it stays in the game like this and harass the enemy planes to death... My concern is that this way a fully upgraded carrier can completely outclass a same tier enemy carrier player in air fights, and the skill factor of the players is largely reduced. I would prefer a more diverse choice of possible upgrades / skills, or would make them mutually exclusive so one cannot stack everything on top. What do you think?

    Some problems in CBT

Nothing is changed so much from Alpha...and still a good game.Have lots of fun,and hope the USA Battleships and Japanese CVs will come out soon. However I still find some problems, or bugs? Whatever... 1st,sometimes when you are aiming an enemy far away from you during Snipe mode, you will find them "jumping"-That means, they moved just like your FPS is lower than 1,they just stayed in one place, and then suddenly jumped to another and stayed there for a short moment, and then continued jumping... 2nd,sometimes the game will crash and I don't know why...everything seems ok and then an error occur. Furthermore, one day before the game crashed, the audio in game didn't work well, I couldn't hear anything except for the voice of engine, and soon after this problem came, the game crashed. After restarted the game, everything became normal. 3rd,when you drive your ship near an island, the ship will not keep going straight, mostly they will turn to the island automatically, and if you don't pay attention, your ship piles up...I've no idea if this is actually the way they work, but if it is, don't you think the gravitation of the islands is too big? 4th,when your plane squad is under fire from enemy's Fighter squads, they slow down;and if they are returning to your carrier, they may never come back, especially for your fighter squad(in fact attacking squads is doing well when they returns). If your fighter squad is out of ammo, they just report "returning",but if they are under attack from other fighter squads, they will not return until the enemies is out of ammo or stop attacking(change target), they just stay where they fought before and waiting the enemies to stop fire...
