  3. The Tripartite class is a class of mine warfare vessel used by the navies of Belgium, France and the Netherlands, as well as Pakistan, Indonesia, Latvia, and Bulgaria. Céphée Class overview Name: Tripartite Operators: French Navy Belgian Navy Royal Netherlands Navy Naval Jack of Pakistan.svg Pakistan Navy Indonesian Navy Latvian Naval Forces Bulgarian Navy Built: 1981-1989 In service: 1981- In commission: 1981 Completed: 45 Retired: 0 General characteristics BNS Primula Description A joint venture of the navies of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, the Tripartite class of minehunters were conceived in the 1970s and built in the 1980s. France built the mine-hunting equipment, Belgium provided the electronics, and the Netherlands constructed the propulsion train. France and the Netherlands originally bought 15, with Belgium buying 10. All three countries' Tripartite ships contribute at times to NATO's Standing Maritime MCM capability groups (SNMCMG1 or SNMCMG2). Belgium Originally 10 ships were built for the Belgian navy. All remaining Belgian vessels have undergone an extensive upgrade during 2004-2008 involving replacement of the anti-mine warfare equipment. Also called "CMT" for Chasseur de Mines Tripartite, all are named after flowers and are thus sometimes called the "Flower" class in international literature.

The OST nummer 1 is Dutch :P

I was wondering what the origins where of the 'theme' song of World of Worships. And on YouTube i found it, the song is based on a Dutch (not german) folksong titled 'wat zullen we drinken 7 dagen lang'. Just compare thema . I find it splendid that my favourit game's theme song is based on my mother toungue! B-)
  5. Hello! I'm TheRedBoss, a 13 year old World of Warships player. I really wanna join a clan, because I miss the teamplay. Altough, not a lot of clans accept a 13 year old gamer, unfortunately. My highest ship is currently Myoko, about 50.000 xp away from Mogami. I play all the IJN lines, DD, BB, CA and CV. I'm that kinda Cruiser-Carrier guy, you know? ;). I'm not that often online because of school and -grmbl- homework... I would say: 3 times a week, excluding weekends (in weekends I'm almost always online at about 4 p.m.). The clan doesn't have to be big, just with some nice people I can play with. I hope someone responses, and that I can join a clan! PS: yes, my native language is Dutch but I write this is English so more people can understand it! Ciao for now!
  6. So I’m Dutch and I’m proud of it. And as all Dutch, it is water that flows through my veins. I met many Dutch people within WoWs and I know the interest in WoWs within the Netherlands is very high. The Dutch Navy might be small, but it has a very high reputation in the world. Many UN navy operations are being commanded by the Dutch. I may dream of a own Dutch Techtree, but when reality kicks in , I know that it will not happen. So I had to find some sneaky way, to get a Dutch ship into the game. That’s where my research began. In the second world war a large part of the Dutch navy escaped. The largest part of the navy was based in the East. As so many Dutch Navy vessels “escaped” the ships stayed till the battle of the Java Sea under Dutch Command. After this disaster the vessels came under direct command of the RN (although they kept their Dutch crew). Many ships got my attention and after a while I found the right vessel : The Hr.Ms. Isaac Sweers. This ship has a joined Dutch / UK History. When the Germans invaded the Netherlands . The Dutch Navy towed the half built Isaac Sweers to the UK. Along with it, they brought some parts. But they didn’t have the room and time to take all parts with it. So the design had to be altered. This resulted in a Dutch/UK Unique vessel. And this was the result : Armament : 3x2 102 mm guns 4 x 40 mm Bofors (fully stabilized with own fire control) 2x 4 12,7 mm (later replaced by 2x2 20 mm oerlikon) 2x4 533 mm Torpedo tubes Displacement: 1604 tons standard 2228 tons full load Length : 107 m Beam: 10.6m Draft: 2.8 m Propulsion : 2 shaft, parsons geared turbines. 3 Yarrow type boilers 45.000 hp Speed : 37,5 kn Complement 158. This joined Dutch/RN design resulted is a very modern ship which was very fast. It had a very excellent AA due to the own fire control and the fully stabilized 4*40 Bofors guns. I think this will be an excellent choose to be a tier 5 RN DD. With an extra sales pitch that it is partial Dutch design and had a Dutch crew. This way WG can honor the Dutch Navy history. I would like to know what you think about this ship. And if there are any objections in having this ship in the RN tech tree as a tier 5 premium ship. As an Unique vessel it even got it's own stamp : Thank you for your reply. (P.S I have much more info on this ship, as Blueprints, photographs, historical details etc.)
  7. The Karel Doorman class is a class of eight multi-purpose frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy. The class is also known as the "Multi-purpose" or M class. The ships are named after famous Dutch naval officers, the lead ship being named after Karel Doorman. Van Amstel Class overview Builders: Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding Operators: Belgian Navy Chilean Navy Royal Netherlands Navy Portuguese Navy Completed: 8 Active: 8 General characteristics ShipsAll ships were built by Royal Schelde Dockyard Karel Doorman F827 1991 sold to Belgium as Leopold I (F930) in 2005 Willem van der Zaan F829 1991 sold to Belgium as Louise-Marie (F931) in 2005. Tjerk Hiddes F830 1991 sold to Chile as Almirante Riveros (FF-18) in 2004 Van Amstel F831 1993 In Service Abraham van der Hulst F832 1993 sold to Chile as Blanco Encalada (FF-15) in 2004 Van Nes F833 1994 sold to Portugal as NRP Bartolomeu Dias (F333) in 2006 Van Galen F834 1994 sold to Portugal as NRP D. Francisco de Almeida (F334) in 2006 Van Speijk F828 1995 In service Van Galen Armament These multi-purpose frigates can be used in the anti-submarine, anti-aircraft or surface combat roles. Their armament reflects that. Their primary surface armament consists of two quad launchers for the RGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile, which has a range of 120 kilometres. Backing this up is a 76 mm Oto Melara gun, which has both anti-ship and anti-air capabilities. Air defence is provided by the Sea Sparrow vertical launch system, which uses semi-active radar to find its target and has a range of 14 km. 16 VLS cells are mounted on the port external bulkhead of the hangar. A Goalkeeper system provides close-range air defence. It fires 30 mm rounds and can fire up to 4,000 rounds per minute, with a range of 200 metres to 3 km. For anti submarine warfare, each ship is equipped with two twin torpedo launchers, firing Mark 46 torpedoes; and carries one Westland Lynx helicopter. The helicopter is also armed with 2 Mk 46 torpedoes, and carries dipping sonar and forward looking infrared (FLIR) systems. Karel Doorman Modernisation Programme The Royal Netherlands Navy and Belgium Navy decided to upgrade the four frigates by rebuilding both hangar and helicopter deck for the NH-90 as well to replace the forward mast for fitting the new Thales SeaWatcher 100 phased array surface search radar and Gatekeeper electro-optical surveillance system. The first ship to receive the upgrade was HNLMS Van Speijk F828 in April 2012, next will be BNS Leopold I F930, after her HNLMS Van Amstel F831 and BNS Louise Marie F931 will follow. SMART-S 3D search radars will not be replaced by SMART-S MK2. Seawatcher 100 is a non-rotating active phased array radar for naval surface surveillance. The system automatically detects and tracks asymmetric threats and very small objects such as swimmers and periscopes in all weather conditions. Seastar can also be used for helicopter guidance.Seastar is internationally marketed as Sea Watcher 100 Gatekeeper is a 360° panoramic electro-optical surveillance and alerter system based on IR/TV technology. Designed to counter emerging asymmetric threats down to small boats and swimmers, Gatekeeper increases short-range situational awareness in littoral environments.
