Dear Wargaming, I played the game for many years, I played during all the metas and during all clan battles seasons, it's time we have this talk about the recent one and discuss the good, the bad and the ugly about it. Now it’s not a mystery that every season has something special about it, new ships get added, new trends appear, people either try to play the meta or counter it, and it was working just fine. However, in the past couple of seasons, you started messing with it, season 8 you introduced cyclone to the mix, which turned half of the games into close range brawls, but it was playable, there were some options at least. Now, season 9, the introduction of CVs in clan battles. What's the ugly about it: the spotting: now you get spotted in spawn before you get the chance to move anywhere and of course the cv keeps you spotted so there is no sneaking around or making plays or trying to surprise your opponent, so that’s the strats aspect of clan battles out of the window and its nothing but a trade show featuring a 20km campfest. What’s bad about it: the choice is between a CV or a BB, may RNG have mercy on whoever decides to run a BB, it will be mostly useless, it’s gonna be perma spotted so all the cruisers know where the shots are coming from and at the extreme ranges this season is played on, it’s not particularly a hard dodge, and if the BB tries to make a play it’s very likely to overextend and get focused by the CV and the rest of the cruisers, so if 2 equally skilled teams meet, one running a BB and the other running a CV, the one running a CV will almost always come out on top, obviously, everyone wants to win so everyone will run a CV and that means that DDs will simply get shafted, only a few DDs can fight back against CVs but none will survive, so introducing CVs removed 2 classes from CBs. Now we get to the “FUN” part, the CV drops, Haku is the most popular this season, its ability to deal with most heavy cruisers puts it on top, when the CV is going for a drop, he will get the drop off and unless you have half of your team sitting on top of each other no AA perks/mods/consumables or “JUST DODGE” will save you, and in the case of the famous Haku DBs, you get the 25.5k slap, soon to be 24,6k (huge change, not), that’s about 50% of Des Moines HP, some might argue that in RTS it would’ve been 100% of the Des Moines HP (not at all as DM would have MUCH more effective AA to defend itself with), but ofc after the rework, the CVs have multiple drops and yes he will get some of them off on the DM because AA and AA builds were neutered and defAA is just close to useless and you can”t even use terrain to your advantage in a cruiser because the carrier will use it against you and will drop you with almost no planes lost, so bottom line, to suffer less from the CV it’s better to have some sort of an invisibility cloak, let’s say a “don’t touch me” button of some sort that makes you go insta stealth, which is what made Venizia the go to cruiser this season and this leads to the next point, we have 41 T10 ships in the game and we are only using only 3-4 of them, Haku, Stalingrad, Venizia and sometimes you will witness a Halland for a short period of time before it gets spotted by the CV and sent to port by SAP. some screenshots about the variety of this season: basically this every game Finally what’s good about this season: In all honesty, the only good thing that I can think of about this season is that it is over, it surely made a mark on the community, made people rage, made people quit playing CBs or even worse some quit playing the game completely.     CV mini rework

    first remove the current fighter system, and the rocket planes the squadron planes count as a type of ammo for fighters, if you activate the ability, you sent one attack worth of planes back to the cv. and you send a number of fighters forwards to make a strafing run, if they hit an enemy squadron during the run, they will damage them, the damage, and number of fighters in the strafing run will depend on the type of fighters the cv controls. this will both solve the problem of cvs not being able to duel each other, and the problem of cvs easily being able to damage enemy dds. i do not have any ideas for other changes to further balance them yet, but i do take suggestions, that does not include "remove cvs"

    How to dodge rocket planes?

    How do I doge these? I've tried turning in to them so by the time the rockets are able to be fired I've left the attack reticle, I've tried stopping immediately and turning hard left/right. Most of the times these tactics don't seem to work and I always end up getting a few modules broken (torpedo tubes and stuff like that, mostly). What are your ways of dodging rockets and is it effective?

    Are you a bad DD player? Are you an average DD player? Are you a new DD player? Are you struggling in your DD to deal with CV's? Apparently CV's are fine. It's your fault and you'll never learn anyway so WG couldn't give a crap about you...
  5. Playing these tier 3 and 4 ships having to chance against a CV really needs to buff up this AA on the ships. These low tier ships don't even have a chance against a CV what so ever with AA guns that might as well shoot marshmellows at the planes. This new AA really doesn't do a damn thing against these planes and if your a new player you don't even have a chance specially when getting constant 2 or 3 CV games. Along with players that have well over 2k games that just come to a tier 4 CV to seal club. Honestly wheres the fun for people that are brand new to this game? when 3 sets of CV's is attacking one tier 4 battle ship that has a rating of 13 for AA and cant even shoot down the planes. Where is the chance? You don't have one..... This should be changed because I would guarantee that this has made new players not want to have anything to do with this game.
  6. Hello there folks! Recently I've been playing a few low tier games in order to work on some new (for me) ship lines. While in Tier 4 Matchmaking there have been 1-3 Carriers on either team per match. As a Carrier main myself I have no issue with CVs in general, however, there are some MAJOR issues at Tier 4. The primary reason for this is the (almost) complete lack of AA defenses on ships which make all surface ships practically defenseless against aircraft. For the sake of my own curiosity, I decided to repurchase the Hosho since it has been quite notorious in its use as a "Seal Clubber" since the buff to its Torpedo Aircraft. And oh boy I wasn't disappointed! Not only is the Hosho Ridiculously strong at Tier 4 due to her damage potential, but there also is NO COUNTER to her since AA of ships are severely lacking and Carriers can't even put up Fighters to cover their allies. On top of all this, a lot of the players at this low tier are fairly new to the game, and playing against these blatantly overpowered Carriers isn't fun whatsoever, even for experienced players (And frankly they're quite boring to play as well). How are the newcomers supposed to want to stick around when they keep getting farmed by a Class that they have no counter towards? For all they know this issue could just keep getting worse the higher in the Tiers they climb. At higher Tiers, the AA-capabilities of ships at least make striking grouped up enemies a very costly endeavor. What I would do long term wise is Remove Tier 4 Carriers from matchmaking and instead have Submarines of Tier 2-4 as the "extra" class introduced during the lower tiers and have Carriers being introduced to the players at Tier 6 onwards where AA defense is more noticeable. This would also make sense from a historical point of view since Submarines have been used operationally far longer than Aircraft Carriers. This might have all kinds of balance implications we don't know about since Submarines are still in testing, but at least submarines were part of the equation when the earlier ships were built (Even though the earliest incarnation of Anti-Submarine Warfare may have been a bit flawed since it consisted of sailors in rowboats trying to destroy periscopes with hammers). I do think that the Carriers at Tier 4 are important for their historical value (being among the first carriers operational in the world) so keeping them in the game somehow would be preferable. Maybe they could be part of an extensive CV tutorial each player gets access to or have them present in Operations etc. Or turn them into Tier 6 Premiums with unique mechanics to offset their outdated equipment. TL;DR: Remove Carriers from Tier 4 and have Submarines be the extra class introduced at the earlier stages of the game (these were also historically operational long before Carriers). Introduce the CV class starting at Tier 6 where most ships were designed with the knowledge that aircraft was (a new) part of naval warfare since at these Tiers AA is more present as a counter to Aircraft.
  7. I'm wondering what Wargamings' stance is regarding the current state of the Graf Zeppelin. My own opinion is that her Dive Bombers could use a buff since the AP alpha is the lowest per strike among the Tier 8 CVs on top of having a very RNG heavy drop pattern. Does Wargaming have any information that they could share regarding Graf Zeppelins' performance compared to her peers? If some kind of buff is warranted would it be possible Engine-wise to add HE Bombs to the bomb loadout? A pair of wing-mounted 50KG bombs could make the bombers feel less RNG-based due to more bombs dropped on target.
  8. Hi Everyone, So I still consider myself a fairly new player (around 500 games) despite rushing my way to T10 (I know, I know...). Anyway, I am looking to improve my destroyer play - specifically regarding dealing with CV attacks. I am aware that one should keep AA switched off unless already spotted and that smoke can help, but sometimes the enemy CV catches you out of position, or just makes a mission of hunting you down. My question is: What is the best way to handle this? Which attacks are best dodged by turning into them? Which (if any) have elongated targeting reticles and are best dodged by turning broadside? Obviously I can't completely avoid this sort of damage, but I assume through improving my play that I can learn to mitigate it somewhat, so any tips would be greatly appreciated. For reference I mainly play IJN torpedo boats and am trying to learn Shimakaze (though having a very rough time of it - I picked it up pretty much just after the CV rework hit and admittedly got frustrated enough to take a break from the game).     CV players - need advise

    Seeing as the first rank in sprint is one where nobody loses a star, i decided to give CVs a go and dusted my Enterprise off, which i played only once in randoms after the REEEwork ( and sucked hard in that TX game). Now, i know i'm a CV noob, always was and always will be, as i simply don't like this class. That being said, that doesn't mean i refuse to learn how to play CVs and take dumps on unsuspecting loli boats. My only experience with CVs is the RN TVI which i played so often in OPS that i managed to unlock the TVIII. Anyways, here's a replay, fresh and still steaming hot of my attempt of being useful and failing. https://replayswows.com/replay/65429#stats I also, did notice i'm surface spotted but i assumed i have a bit of time before the DD gets too close. So my question are: What did i do wrong? What did i do horribly wrong? What could i have done better? What did i do right? Where and what can i improve? What would have you done differently?   10. When the old ones are soooo unbalanced? A friend of mine (veteran) recruitmented me.....From Tier 1-6 the game is Funny and worth any time (and money) you spend for it.... And then-(especially if you make the wrong desicion to choose DD's or CV's)- appears on your way a Belfast,Atlanta...a Cleveland later,and your fun VANISHING cause their gameplay is sooo unfair! You Can't go even close to them(DD's),you can even fly close to them (CV's),the only that WG allow is to die for them! My friend show me---in his account--what happen at Tiers 8-10.You kidding are nt you?Do you really DD and CV players continue to play against Minotaure and against ALL of U.S cruisers (premium or not!). Αll the "skill"they need is the skill to hide succefully behind any rock close to an area.Everything else are provited from W.G!They dont give a...damn about DD's,ofcourse they dont give a damn about CV's. Τhese types of ships do not exist for them.Except for give them "xp's" You can pay 1000 euros each recruiting player.Αs much as your game are so unfair players leave you with your new series of ships.Did anyone of you count how many players continue to play your Panasian DD's?No,because you spend all your time to bring us new series.Only veteran's and captains like "Mighty jingles"maybe needs new series to not bored. Just thought ide at least try to educate some people on how to successfuly work with your cv and play against the enemy cv in ranked. -At the start of the same obviously cvs will get early spots on cruisers to to all BB players please have your gun facing towards where your cvs planes are going so that you can try to blap any cruisers spotted by him (especially minos and Worcesters as this will increase your cvs effectiveness massively if you kill them) -try to stay with at least 1 other ship within 4 Km of you (2 others is preferable but 1 will do) as this will greatly discourage or in some cases even negate the enemy cv from striking you. -if you are a DD player, going for caps at the start of a game in a cv game is a very bad idea. Caps are not that important early game as most dds that try to go and solo cap without waiting for their team die very fast. So for the first 3 or 4 minutes just sail along with friendly cruises providing smoke if needed to light cruisers and spamming torps where you think the enemy dd might be trying to cap. -do not spam 'provide anti-air suport' button. I cannot stress this point enough. It is just annoying to your friendly CV player and will usually make him less likely to put fighters over you. Just let the cv player deal with priorities and if he thinks you need a fighter and he is in a position to do so he will give you a fighter. But do not treat cv players as your personal slaves. -if you are in a cruiser against a haku do not sit still on an island as that will make it easy for him to AP bomb you to death (especially des moines and stalingrads) instead try to be more mobile and able to turn side on to the bombers to mitigate damage. Other than those points I ha e mentioned just try to work with your friendly cv player and communicate with him but don't harras him for support. Asking him to spot something that you are able to kill is fine but don't keep spamming buttons for him to protect you or flame him in chat if you die and it's somehow all his fault.

    What I'm going to say is very simple to understand. I'm a casual wows player. Since one week, I started to play CVs taking advantage of the free premium days I had. After less than one hundred games with the shokaku, I got enough xp to unlock the hakuryu. I didn't have enough credit so I sold all my other ships to buy the hakuryu with all the upgrades. And here comes my problem. With the shokaku, I managed to get an average of 100k damage per game. But with the hakuryu, not only I can't even get up to half the damage I made with the shokaku, but I also loose 100k credit per game. With the hakuryu, it is impossible to drop torpedos, because ennemy ships see you coming and the distance of activation for torpedoes is so big that the targeted ship will have the time to dodge even if the aiming is perfect. As it is not possible to drop torps near the target, it is thus impossible to hit the target with torps. Why is the activation distance so insane for the hakuryu's torps ? After loosing millions of credit by playing the hakuryu (-100k credit per game) I gave up and sold the hakuryu to buy a nagato and a ryujo. But what's the point of continuing to play this game ? I mean, my initial goal was to get the hakuryu to have fun. My logic was simple : Hosho = nice cv Ryujo = good cv Shokaku = Very good cv So, with this pattern, I was expecting the hakuryu to be a very very good cv and a fun ship to play with, but no, unfortunatly, it's just a useless floating aircraft container, with the maintenance costing 300k per game, even loss of credit is impossible to avoid, even with premium. I then did some research on the internet and I found out that according to some people the hakuryu was "over powered" and that all the things I listed above are just the result of a nerf applied to this ship. The question I have is why not to simply delete the hakuryu as it is so nerfed that it's just a useless ship ? Fun = 0, gameplay = 0, credits earned = 0, usefulness for team mates = 0, So what's the point of adding a huge and costly ship to the game if it is inefficient and depressing to play. When I was playing the Shokaku, I was so happy, it was awsome to play, fun was there, at every game, I had fun, the games I lost and won. I had fun all the time no matter if it was loss or win. I thought that the hakuryu was going to be an even better experience, but I was mistaken. Now, after 20 games with the hakuryu, and millions of credits lost, I am depressed. I was so exited about this CV and it was even the first tier X ship I was going to try, and all of my excpectations got crushed by these 20 games. They 20 games of death almost brought me to death. But I said no, I won't give up, and in a last effort filled with the hope to see a decent Hakuryu, I decided to write this opened letter to all of mankind. People of the earth, please, listen to this epic call, we must convince Wargaming to give the hakuryu the glory it deserves to have. I know there is pressure on Wargaming, and I know that a lot of people hate CVs, when I heard what some people say in chat, I was shocked. There is a lot of anti CV racism in the game and that's a problem. The anti CV racists put pressure on WG to nerf all the CVs, specialy the hakuryu. I know that there is pressure, but to fall for that pressure a bad idea. CV like any other ships have their place in the game. I'm not asking for laser guided missiles mounted on aircrafts, nor am I asking for adding any over powered features that would break the game balance. I... Wa... Watashi... I am just saying that ultra low speed combined with 9000km activation distance for torps is wrong, This kind of things is breaking the game balance. And one last thing, I'm tired of anti CV racism, people hate us CV players, I don't even know why,and because of that hatred, I was about to commit suic... I can't tell you more, all this hatred toward CVs is just a horrible thing. People often simplify the CV players role, claiming that it's an easy task and so on, they forget that behind every hosho, every lexington, every shokaku, every audacious, there is in fact someone who is audacious and willing to help his team the best way possible. But with the hakuryu, it's not possible to be audacious, I was so sad and depressed playing this ship, + the insults coming from anti CV haters,I finally came to the point where I ended up torping myself several times. It was to much painful to play. How can people see with their own eyes CV players all around the world torping themselves and not yet realising that it's a desperate call for help ? People close their eyes on these issues because they still believe in the "CVs are overpowered" fairy tales. When you repeat a lie thousands of times, you come to a point where even the lier himslef starts believing his own lies. Same thing is going on here, there is in this game, a culture of hatred aimed at CVs. People dislike CVs and then put pressure on Wargaming staff in order to nerf them to death.   13. @MrConway I have been deeply unimpressed with aircraft launched by non-CVs since the 0.8 "improvement" The first time I launched them, there was wtf moment, 1 minute in, when they dissappeared. All on their own. While I was scanning the sky to see who had shot them down. Now, when I launch them for that 1 pointless minute, I am ever more deeply unimpressed that CVs can press whichever button whichcauses their aircraft to evaportate to instant RTS, because CVs don't like losing aircraft if they can't do damage. When are you going to allow our now pointless fighters to do the same? We want our fighters to RTS instantly and be relaunched without delay. Is this going to happen in 0.8.lostcount? That's a rhetorical question, because I don't think anyone knows what's going to change, or why it's going to change. Or who those changes are going to screw up next. Please, tell us someone knows wtf's going on, how it's all going to be good and when it's going to be not fubar. Or are you going to continue to fill consumable slots with pointless consumables. Does anywone at WG know wtf they are doing anymore?

    About the HMS furious

    The other day the game brought up a survey about the new CVs, but I had only played the hermes, so I had no idea what feedback to give, considering that all T4 CV play is awful (but that is to be expected) So now that I am informed I can give some specific opinions that I should have given in that survey. The good Health and surface detectability are fine. Plane HP is good enough and AA firepower is as good as it is necessary in its tier. Torps are slow but powerful and rockets are not very hard hitting but accurate. The Bad Those cluster bombs. I cannot even describe how frustrating and unreliable they are. They scatter all over the place, hitting everywhere but the target area (I swear that sometimes they land outside of it). I would say that to be different from the other nations they should be accurate, but not very powerful. Even the gigantic dispersion circle of the ranger's divebombers gets better results. Everytime from the ranger or ryujo to the furious I feel I'm getting a hand tied to my back, like every type of squadron I have matters and has a purpose. Air surface detectability; not fatal, but even the ranger has better concealment from air Again, this is the opinion of someone who never plays beyond T7 (I just don't like the higher tier gameplay and the endless overtiering in T8), so I don't know how all of what I've said applies to further ships down the line.
  15. Vorab: Mir ist die Schwemme der Threads zu diesem Thema bekannt. Allerdings sind die große Mehrheit dieser Threads neagtiv gestellt oder die brauchbaren Antworten verschwinden in den endlosen Diskussionen innerhalb sämtlicher Threads. Daher dachte ich mir, ich setz nen OP, der sich mit den CVs positiv auseinander setzt, damit eben nicht jeder dieses Geheule lesen oder in den Diskussionen suchen muss. Bin ich der Ansicht, dass CVs dem Spiel eine Rundung geben? Ja. Warum? CVs sind das, womit man in kürzester Zeit einen klaren Vorteil des eigenen Teams erhalten kann. Dieser Vorteil besteht aus den beiden Punkten Spotting und DD Schaden. Bisher - seit dem die alten CVs immer mehr am Aussterben waren - konnten concealmentmäßig gute Schiffe sehr schnell Einfluss gewinnen, weil sie DDs bekämpfen und Spotten konnten. Diese Aufgabe kann ein CV schneller und effizienter übernehmen, währenddessen die DDs durch die Informationen sich einen Plan zurechtlegen können, wie sie sich um ihre weiteren Aufgaben kümmern können: DD Hunt, Torpspotting und Capping, die durch den frühen Spot teilweise liegen bleiben müssten. Die DDs sind beiderseitig betroffen, da ein CV immer mit einem gegnerischen CV kommt und keine Einbahnstraße sind. Ebenso erhalten BBs und Kreuzer schneller ihre Informationen, wie der Gegner sich aufstellt und wo mögliche Weakspots sind, die das eigene Team für den Sieg ausnutzen können. Sind die Gefechte dadurch nicht gefährlicher geworden? Ja, sind sie. Wie bei jeder Klasse, bestimmt auch hier die Spielerstärke - mittlerweile stark abgeschwächt, da man nur noch eine Staffel koordinieren kann - immernoch, welcher CV mehr Einfluss im Gefecht hat. Dadurch kann sich schnell eine Möglichkeit für ein Team eröffnen, da dieses durchaus besser Informationen bekommt. Ebenso haben Schiffe, die Out of Position sind, einen schwereren Stand erhalten. Als die CVs am Aussterben waren, war ein Schiff, welches Out of Position geriet, meist nur als Figur verloren, aber nicht sofort als Punkte. Ein CV nimmt mit Vorliebe solche Ziele aufs Korn und schickt sie unter die Wasserlinie. Dazu gehören sämtliche Schiffsklassen, nicht nur BBs. Sind CV im Einfluss deswegen immernoch genau stark, wie vorher? Nein. Durch die Reduktion der koordinierbaren Staffeln auf eine, hat man nur noch die eine Staffel und maximal den Supportjäger. Ebenso hat sich dadurch die Art des Schadens von einem starken Burst auf einen eher kontinuierlichen Schaden verschoben, wodurch Schiffe länger überleben können. Du erwähntest grad den Supportjäger, den man mit einer Staffel rufen kann. Macht ihn das nicht stark, wenn man ihn von selbst überall hin rufen kann, wo man möchte? Ja, leider. Der Jäger ist eigentlich primär dafür gedacht, die eigenen Schiffe schützen zu können, weil man selbst nur noch Angriffsflugzeuge hat. Aber er kann dazu missbraucht werden, einen bestimmten Bereich für seine Dauer zu spotten. Dies ist ein sehr gefährlicher Punkt für einen DD, da dieser dadurch, ohne weiteres, aktives Zutun des CV Spielers, an seinen Aufgaben gehindert werden kann. Ebenso ist dies einer der größten Punkte, worin sich ein schlechter CV Spieler von einem Guten unterscheidet. Dies bedeutet daher auch einen größeren Unterschied der Spielstärke beider Teams. Wenn dieser Punkt bereits immernoch einen Skillgap hervorhebt, wie schaut es dann mit der genaueren Koordination der Staffeln aus? Diese kann man ja per F-Taste - standardmäßig - zurück rufen. Ermöglicht das nicht auch einen größeren Unterschied in der Spielstärke beider Teams? Ja und nein. Das, was einen guten Spieler von einem Schlechten unterscheidet, ist seine Einschätzung einer Situation und wie man damit umgeht. Wer effizient seine Staffeln koordiniert, hat mehr Einfluss im Gefecht. Daher ist das eigene Zurückrufen ein guter Punkt, mit dem sich Spieler von einander unterscheiden können. Es kann aber auch zu einem Ausnutzen führen, da die Staffel, sobald sie zurück gerufen wird, keinerlei Verluste mehr verzeichnen kann, wodurch sich spielstarke Spieler eher von Schlechteren absetzen können und dies langfristig im Gefecht zu einem Problem für das andere Team werden kann. Auch hat dies den Nachteil, dass "Kamikaze-Angriffe" eine Option geworden sind, mit denen man einen einzigen Angriff mit maximaler Effizienz und minimalen Verlusten starten kann. Auch in Dichter gestellte Schiffe. MMn. ist dies nicht der Sinn der Funktion. Dichter gestellte Schiffe, da fragt man zwangsläufig nach AA. Passt diese zum System? Ja. Die Überarbeitung der AA hat primär zur Folge, dass wir von der alten Mechanik Abstand gewonnen haben. Wir sind abgerückt von Abschusswahrscheinlichkeiten und einem DPS System, welches keiner vernünftig genug verstanden hat. Das aktuelle System und deren Wiedergabe ist direkt. Eine Staffel hat HP, die der CV Spieler sieht und ein Schiff hat pro Aura einen festgelegten DPS Wert, der nominal von den Flugzeug HP abgezogen wird, bis entsprechend Flugzeuge verloren werden. Ebenso haben wir die AA Wolken hinzu bekommen, die ein direktes, gerades Anfliegen sehr gefährlich machen und den CV Spieler dazu bringen, sich mit dem Anflug auf sein Ziel zu beschäftigen. Wobei auch hier immernoch gilt: AA starke Schiffe sind immernoch AA stark. Auch wurde der Fokus wieder auf die Midrange AA gelegt, die die absurden Longrangesphären entfernt, die wir vorher hatten. Dazu gehört auch, dass die Reichweiten der Sphären nun fix sind und nicht mehr ausgeweitet werden können, ebenso wie die entsprechende Anpassung der Kapitänskills und des Zubehörs. Das ist meine Meinung - die auf Aussagen von Clanmitgliedern, eigener Erfahrung und sonstigen Ansichten guter Spielern beruht -, mit der ich hervorheben möchte, warum CVs besser geworden sind und warum sie sinnvoll sind. Das Balancing dieser sollte sich auch verbessern, da die Wahrscheinlichkeiten entfallen und die Anzahl an Parametern verringert wurde. An manchen Stellen braucht es sicherlich noch Feingefühl beim Balancing (zB. Flutungswahrscheinlichkeiten, AA Reichweiten oder Aimzeiten) aber im Großen stimmt die Richtung. Auf die Steuerung selbst bin ich aber nicht eingegangen. Sie ist anders aber nicht negativ anders. Die meisten Spieler - egal ob gut oder schlecht -, von dem, was mir bekannt ist, sind damit zufrieden.
  16. Hey everyone. So... Shokaku. Got her a couple of days ago and honestly I'm extremely disappointed of her so far. The main problem is that of the games, that I have played so far, in 80% of the time I'm uptiered. I have gone full plane protection build and still I cant do anything to tier 9 and 10 ships. The problem is not the flak but the AA bubble of the ships. Its ridiculous that yesterday I lost a whole squadron to a Shima by flying above her. I lost my squadron in less then 2 seconds and I spotted the Shima 1 second into it. So some dds can completely devestate my squadron without me even seeing them? What? Okay I didnt mean to turn this topic into a rant. I'm not effective at all when uptiered. I basically only spot ships and try to de-cap. I barely average 50-60k dmg. What can I do to change this? Any tips and tricks are very welcomed ^-^

  19. Regardless of the upcomIng carrier update, I'd like to say that I think two CV's per side is too many and should be restricted to one carrier per team. In my opinion these games are not fun, occur far too frequently and even when your on the winning side it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. These games currently occur mostly at low tier where most ships are world war 1 vintage and have no AA guns to speak of. The whole situation is compounded when flawed matchmaking puts a novice against a veteran CV captain with thousands of games under their belt and a 19 point captain to boot. I've currently gotten to the point where by if I see more than two CV's in the player queue I just cancel and wait until the number drops because these games are so horrendous.
  20. Introduction This topic is entered in the game play section of the forum because it not only concerns Aircraft Carrier game play but overall game play in WOWS. The vaunted WOWS "Carrier rework" has been mentioned on and off over the past two years. During that time the current state of affairs of Aircraft Carriers in WOWS has not been significantly altered by meaningful changes let alone improvements. The only two noteworthy changes with regard to Carriers that have been implemented are (1) the new Flight Modes of the USA Carriers that was introduced at the end of 2017 and (2) the vastly increased number of new ships with very powerful Anti-Aircraft setups and/or Defensive Fire AA (for example ALABAMA, MASSACHUSETTS and the five new USA light cruisers). As a result there remains a virtual absence of meaningful WOWS Carrier changes to address some of the major Carrier related issues. The vaunted WOWS "Carrier rework" will in all probability not be implemented until somewhere around late 2019 at best, in other words it is a long term event. In order to improve the Carrier game play that currently exists in the short and medium term, that is in 2018-2019, some plausible solutions can be proposed and implemented to address the most serious issues for the benefit of both the opponents and proponents of Carriers in WOWS. This topic therefore aims to offers such possible and plausible solutions for the 2018-2019 short to medium term to improve Carrier game play from the perspective of both the opponents and proponents of Carriers. The solutions proposed are intended to be ones that can/should be fairly easily implemented by WOWS Developers with a minimum of effort and all need to lie within the framework of the current Carrier and general WOWS game play and game play mechanisms.   21. Also: ich habe heute ein Match mit meiner Bogue gespielt: Ich und eine Zuiho vs. eine Bogue und eine Independence. Ich und die Zuiho sahen ein Jägergeschwader und sahen die Chanche es zu eliminieren. Aber plötzlich kam das Geschwader der Independance und ZACK! Strave; alles tot. 2 meiner Jäger haben überlebt, aber dann war es ein 2v5 oder 2v6. Das führt mich zu der Frage: Ist das nicht ein bisschen.... unfair? Ich meine, die Tier 5 Flugzeugträger haben: keinen manuellen Torpedoabwurf, keinen manuellen Bombenabwurf UND am wichtigsten: Sie können nicht Strafen. In dieser Situation hätte ich dem Luftkampf entgehen können, seit neuestem kann man ja Kämpfe gegen Jäger mit dem manuellen Strafing abbrechen, oder ich hätte einen gegenstrave starten können, um die Situation noch irgendwie lohnenswert machen zu können. Nada. Nun muss ich hier noch anmerken, dass man ja sagen könnte, das die Zuiho ja auch gestraft haben könnte. Da muss ich zwar zustimmen, aber dazu muss auch gesagt werden: Die Japanischen Geschwader bestehen aus 4 (resp.5) Jäger und das Straving ist zwar auch gut, aber die Amerikaner haben hier definitiv die Oberhand. Ausserdem nützt es mir nicht, wenn ich mich auf den anderen Flugzeugträger resp. den Spieler verlassen muss (in den meisten Fällen). Naja jedenfalls: Ich hatte dann nur noch 3 Jäger, konnte nur mit mühe meine Bomber gut einsetzen, während die Independance die Lufthoheit hatte. Und JA die Zuiho hatte nich immer 2 Jägerstaffeln, aber wie gesagt, Ich verlasse mich nur ungern auf andere Flugzeigträger, und die Zuiho hat ihre Jäger danach schlecht eingesetzt. Letztendlich gelang uns der Sieg, aber auch nur, weil unser Team super gespielt hat. Wir, die Flugzeigträger haben da fast gar nichts gemacht, shon weil ich gar nichts machen konnte. Also: Ich hinterfrage dieses Matchmaking: Ja, Tier 5 und Tier 6 Flugzeugträger: Warum nicht? Aber dann bitte OHNE manuelle drops und/oder Strafing. Damit sind die T6 extrem im vorteil, den sie ja schon hätten, durch die besseren Flugzeige, mehr Geschwader, grössere hangare, ect.

WG , i have played your games since years , including world of tanks , world of warships , and total war arena .and i actually played your games more than anyone should play a single game . but i have done it because i like them . and i will share a screenshot of my world of tanks profile since i will mention that game a bit here for the sake of argument . if you include clan wars and team battles , my account would have 65.000 battles , 38 tiers10s owned , +20 prem tanks . but at the end i have stopped playing that game since it became unfair to play . and i joined world of warships to be my main game . it turned out that world of warships can be even more unfair , we have people that are abusing an exploit in the matchmaking that allows them to get ridiculous numbers of winrate . here are some examples a 90% winrate ? and it's not over 10 games , its over 6000 games played . many people are busing what i called an exploit to farm winrate while ruining our games everyday , in world of tanks , even the Na'Vi super unicum players can't get 70% winrates ; how is it possible warships , i will tell you . they are abusing division system by playing in CV division with 2 super AA ships , to practically deny the enemy CV to have any chance influencing the outcome of the game thus ensuring a win every single time for themselves , and many people have started to have enough of this . many threats in the forums are complaining about it , and i urge everyone who had face such divisions to speak loud about it . note that i am not talking about normal divisions , i am talking about AA divisions is particular . my proposed solution is : before i suggest any solutions , i would ask WG , since these players are abusing a system that gave them unfair advantage over thousands of games to gain fake winrate values , just reset there accounts' statistics without removing any ships . as for solutions i propose : 1) don't allow CVs in divisions ( bit too harsh , might not be practical but could be taken into consideration , even tho i am CV main players , i would accept it ) 2) nerf the AA of the ships being abused . 3) match them only vs simular divisions and remember WG , once a game become unfair for people , no matter how mush they love it , no matter if they have spent a lot of money in it , no matter what , they will just quit . thanks for understanding . edit :i encourage everyone who is going to read the comments of this thread or the comments of other threads complaining about the same thing , take the names of everyone who disagrees and check his stats in division , you will note they he is abusing this exploit . here is a website where you can check . https://wows-numbers.com/

    Disclaimer: All tests were done on PTS, so may not be entirely representative of how it is on the Live server. Then again, I've seen nothing about this iteration of PTS that would indicate any changes regarding the team damage / teamkilling / pink system being introduced / tested, so "theoretically" there should be none unless those are unannounced "shadow" changes Inspired by the "Do suiciders get punished?" thread ( https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/101997-do-suiciders-get-punished/ ) I headed to PTS (didn't want to do it on the Live server, now I almost feel like I should have just done that instead) to find the answer to my question: I mean, it's simple - get pink, pick a CV, hit yourself, get results. Right? Hahahaha, yeah, sure. Of course not. No idea what was I expecting 1st off - the getting pink part. 3 times in a row played as a CV (well, technically 4, but training room doesn't count) who kills himself, didn't go pink for it. Co-op (only bots in team), co-op (only bots in team), (training room), randoms (clearly stated what I'm about to do in the chat, team still won I think). 3x suicide, 0x punished for it. The only thing I discovered - on PTS you as a CV can not DoT yourself. Bombs don't set fires, torps don't set floods when you hit your own ship. Bug or feature? Who knows, couldn't find it mentioned absolutely anywhere. Engine and rudder still get taken out just as they normally should be, so at least there's that "Can I even get pink on the PTS?" was the next thing that crossed my mind. Easy enough to test. Take some ship (went with Kagero.. bcuz why not) and shoot up some allied bot in co-op. Yeah, took me a couple of HE salvos and the job's done - I'm pink with all the reflection thingy working. (no humans who can breathe and think at the same time were harmed this time either. that one non-bot...team would have had a better chance if he was a bot lol) 2 games pink, good enough. With that finally out of the way - lets test the self-killing CV thing again. Can't set a DoT on myself, but still can hit with the raw damage. Damage increase? Nope, the exact same dmg as previously. (oh, btw, again - in coop, only bots in team) Nice to know or whatever, who cares. But that's not even the best part. Remember how I had 2 games as a pink? Apparently self-inflicted dmg / kill isn't team damage, as I got just 1 penalty game left after it So... Was any of this mentioned literally anywhere? If it was - please link it to me, I haven't seen it More or less all the stuff here - bugs or working as intended? Who knows, right? Chances of us actually being told - I'd rate them as "don't make me laugh" Is this "kill myself = not team dmg" also a thing on the Live server? Anyone knows? And what the hell is the "can't set a DoT on yourself" supposed to accomplish? Prevent suiciding? Oh no, you extended my life by up to a minute while my planes are rearming, getting back into the air and dropping myself 2nd time!
  24. Although CVs get a lot of hate, the carrier mechanics are actually perfectly fine. The real problem is that players too lazy to actually change their play style when a carrier is around. This is combined with the fact that Wargaming does not give carrier captains any real instructions and permits overpowered CVs to bully around low tier CV captains. Not only that, but the significance of captain skills significantly turns off new CV captains. This is compounded by the ridiculous power of AA builds, and the high power that AA can achieve at high tiers. The only thing stops Carriers from being being ridiculously underpowered is that the average player base is completely retarded and cannot manage to play in a co-ordinated manner at all. Which means that CVs essentially are un-opposed. The only reasons why CVs are "OP" at all is that the average player makes themselves an exceedingly easy target for CVs. Most of the issues in CV play could be solved with these measures; A: Increase rewards for CV play, CV play has ridiculously low rewards, with extremely good play rewarding low gains. B: Add a full tutorial for new CV players. C: Give manual drops to low tier CVs, but nerf them heavily, I.E 3.5k damage torps, and a nerf on the strafe multiplier. D: Remove AA spec, but increase stock AA values to be an average between fully spec'ed and stock. I hope you enjoy, and hope that this provokes discussion.
