I'm going to make use of this. I have collected the free XP to research Harugamo line twice, and have reset the line once (yesterday) already. Waiting for tomorrow to do it again, and finally unlock a RB ship. The difficult part is deciding which RB ship to get. Although I think it's probably going to be the Ohio.

The point is to make you think that Wargaming cares about you and your opinion, instead of just your wallet. :)

Thanks for the reply, what about modules. Is 12.5 km enough range? Do I want to go for maximum DPM?

I just unlocked the Kitakaze and I'm struggling a bit. I would welcome any tips and builds and what works for you in todays meta. Funnily enough I did pretty well in the Akizuki, but I just can't seem to make the Kitakaze work for me. So....thanks in advance.

I played exactly two games in the T6 brittish sub that I got for brittish points, or whatever they are called. Didn't care for it. Won't be touching subs again. But I don't have anything against them. I don't think they are too bad, and a decent team can usually deal with a troublesome sub on a flank. Unlike a CV. CVs are where the real pain resides. Thing is I do think that CVs can use a balancing pass and that they would be fine, in fact the easiest way to do it is simply to buff AA across the board, it doesn't even have to be a huge buff, just enough so that it ACTUALLY makes a difference. It would also help against the abominable Hybrid ships, which are just plain broken. But hey what do I know, subs yay!

So, when time comes to return to RN CL line, would it be a good idea to play Edinburgh and then fxp straight to Mino?
As someone who has just reached the Minotaur (did it yesterday, yay!) I would have to say no. Don't do it. It's a pain when a light cruiser is this piggish, but it will teach you a lot about good positioning and how to play really carefully. Which is something you will still probably want to do in the Minotaur, even though it's a lot more maneuverable it's a paper ship and and it still shares the same unrealistic characteristic of all RN Cruisers which is that they don't have a reverse gear, unlike every other ship in the game. (BTW this is one of the single most annoying, Bull$%&, game "mechanics" that I have come across.)
I would suggest you play through both the Edinburgh (as a radar cruiser) and the Neptune (as a smoke cruisers) This is what I did and it was a pain, but I feel pretty confident that I will be able to perform well in the Minotaur now, in either role. (Leaning towards radar though, the smoke can be a crutch)

If anyone cares servers are up again.

How many people visit the forums? How many visit the official discord? 5% of the playerbase? 10%? Don't be a douchebag.

Instead of being snarky, how about admitting that Wargaming does a piss poor job of announcing anything that doesn't fill their pockets with cash. There is NO ANNOUCEMENT OF THE DOWNTIME ANYWHERE EXCEPT FOR THE FORUMS. Nothing on the website, nothing on their start-up game client.

And since the wonderful aesthetics have always been a big part of the appeal of this game, and as there are at present no steel ships around that I'm particularly interested in, I consider this to be steel well spent. I may not be more than barely competent as a player, but now I can at least, when sunk, be sure of leaving a good-looking corpse!

Which ship did you use it on?

Of all the "unrealistic" camos available for purchase, the steel ones are easily the rare ones that hold a very high allure to me. I find the ships in their "drab" grey paintjobs to actually be quite good-looking for the most part and some of the perma skins and most of the credit skins are downright offensively "kitsch".
The steel camos are very sexy though, but 10k steel is a hard, hard sell for me. It's gonna be a while before I can afford even a single steel ship (and I really, really want the Austin) so the camouflage for a single ship at 10k steel is something that is probably the most endgame item that this game can provide ATM.

As far as I am concerned with those, they can make those as terrible as possible. In fact they should make them as terrible as possible. :)

Yes that is right. However If you time it right and get the x2 at the end of the cycle (which should be in a couple of weeks) you can basically get x2 in one cycle, and x2 in the other cycle back to back :) I'm hoping that I can finish my grind to get my first reset in the current cycle, so I can take advantage of that.

Actually I have worked it out. I will only need 1.4 million Free XP (Already have over 1 Million) I have 16k RB points from various Battle pass rewards. I will get 10k RB when I unlock 5 tech tier Xs. So thats 26K, First Reset is 2x, and second is 1x, which means another 30K RB points. So will have 56K RB points, enough to get the Illinois, which looks awesome. Alternatively f I can hit tier X with the two lines I am grinding within the next 2 weeks or so, I will be able to get 2x and 2x Tech resets which will net me enough RB points to get the Ohio.

Good advice. But the Groningen is being removed as a free XP ship, and I will be using the FreeXP for Tech tree resets anyway. I might buy the dubs with it, I'll see.

Ah I see now. Thanks.

Apparently that's it. Thanks.
So how much do I save if I buy doubloons with this coupon? Is it like 50% or what?
-
What the hell....I just lost my coupon. And didnt get anything....

37 minutes ago, Panocek said:Only for ship purchases or any purchases in general?
If for any, then I'd get gold pack and then buy premium boat from the armory, with the -25% coupon.
Huh? So spend money to make money? How does this work? How much do I have to pay for the gold pack?
-
Like the title says, I have a 100% coupon for a single doubloon ship purchase. Didn't expect this, feels kinda nice. What ship should I go for? I was looking to get a Groningen for free XP a while back but I decided to use that for the research buro, so Groningen would be my top pick.
What would you pick?

Thanks for the tips Zimbye, oh I will stick with it. Radar Edinburgh is extremely unforgiving of mistakes, I usually make it to the end game but in the clutch phases is where I lose due to poor positioning and (in)experience.

I just got the Ohio, cant make it work. However it has finally made me realize how crap I am at this game, and apparently that I can't play the best BB in the game to save my life. This is a good thing. I can finally get the hell out of this awful game. Bring on the hate. Bring it.
