Yeah, please let's not let this thread devolve into a political discussion since most of us would turn out to be hypocrites anyway. We are, after all, still playing this game. For everyone else, thanks for the replies. Most favor the Des Moines class, what about the light American cruisers? Also what are your thought's on the Tulsa as a premium ship? (Her range seems to be on the low side, but that is true of most American or Soviet cruisers alike)

Okay, just to report back after spending some more time in the Z-44, I am going to have to eat some crud. Yes I am going to have to eat my words, I was wrong. The Z-44 isn't bad. I was It's actually a pretty decent destroyer, if used correctly. Which is something I was obviously doing wrong. I am actually enjoying playing it now, people seem to underestimate her (just like I did) which works wonders in randoms, and those people usually eat a face full of torpedoes when they do that. I don't have a problem with admitting that I was wrong, this is a pretty neat dd and one which I now seem to enjoy playing, all it took is a little time to get to used to the playstyle. (Except in carrier games those are, heh, tricky)

Just a heads up, I'm now in the Jutland. Only got a few games in her, managed to upgrade the hull and oh boy. Since I'm parallel grinding lines I'm spending credits left right and center and I don't even have the last mod installed and already I am doing much, much better than in the Lightning. Now this might just be a statistical anomaly, but I feel better in this ship. It's slower and has less concealment but somehow I'm killing DDs like there is no tomorrow. One thing that's changed in my playstyle that is probably helping me, I am being much more cautious than before, since my ship is not fully upgraded (probably going to take the reload mod last) and I don't have the range upgrade installed. Anyway I'll see how I do with a few more games under my belt and report back.

I can see that I'm gonna have to explain myself since you insist on being condescending. I wanted a German premium ship. I wanted one to train captains (which I main on the battlecruiser line) and to make money in the process, and I wanted one while I was still training these captains, not in three months time, which is how long it would take me to earn enough coal for this ship. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and in hindsight I should NOT have bought this ship, which I acknowledge but the reason why I shouldnt have done so have nothing to do with it being a fremium (if you consider grinding 3 months of coal for a crap destroyer a "free" investment) and everything with it being a terrible destroyer.

Time does not equal money to you? You must have a lot of free time. I mentioned my reasons for getting the ship, I think they are valid since I don't have a lot of time to play this game.

Just to report back, Im getting better at using the Z-44 I just play her very conservatively. Unfortunately I still very rarely win any matches as even though I am usually last alive on my team, most of my team for some reason ignores me, doesnt shoot at the targets I spot and procedes to suicide every other game. Wargaming games at their finest. For reference the most success I'm having with is the Japanese Heavy Cruisers line, although I enjoy playing the German Battlecruiser lines and the British Destroyer lines. I still think that the Z-44 is a terrible ship, but more than that T9-T10 random games seem to be terrible with how people approach them and play them. It doesn't matter what ship you are if your team-mates lemming into death every other game you play. I should probably look for a clan.

I bought this ship to farm credits and retrain german captains. Since it was a T9 premium, I though it was going to be good at that. It isn't. It's a waste of money. It should be removed from the store and from the game. I'm just here to rant, and to warn everyone else to SKIP THIS SHIP. I should have gone for the Pommern. Im a stupid idiot for falling for WGs marketing ploy, but that is the LAST time they will see a cent from me.

I'm a stupid idiot. I wish I did a search on this topic. I am now out of 60 euros, and want to uninstall the game.
