You can check out my CBT sigil mate. OK, how does removal of the possibility to set routes for catapult aircraft relate to challenge? How does introduction of citadel overpens relate to challenge? How does removal of citadels from DDs relate to challenge? How does nerfing radar detection relate to challenge? How does the new AA (that does not even widen the CV player's crosshair when AA fire consumable is activated and does next to nothing because CVs now have endless planes) relate to challenge? How does adding machine guns to rocket planes, nerfing said rockets, and nerfing AP damage to DDs relate to challenge? And so on and so forth. This is not challenge . This is an abominable mess of game mechanics that used to be balanced and coherent, but have been dumbed down this much so that the ordinary potato player would survive longer.

O rly? Have you played this game during the AT or CBT?
-
No the situation has not improved. In particular, shotgun attacks have not yet been fixed. Mu hunch is that it will take WG a year or so for their big data to finally accumulate and make its way to real decision makers — just about the same timeline as with slingshot attacks for new CVs. However you can still play other modes where this broken OP class is not yet enforced on us to beta test it yet again. (Coop, Ops, some Blitz sprints) That's what I do.

Who said "Richelieu"?

Who said "Slava"?

Guys, the line drifting abuse trick has been present in the game at least from the CBT (I did not play with human players during the AT so I was not aware of this trick until the CBT). If WG removes line drifting, the game will be way less forgiving to poor players, so it will never happen. To their credit, WG tried to fix it — but the fix did not fully remediate the issue. The fact that there still are a certain number of players that use line drifting intentionally to get in-game advantage is obviously not considered by WG as an important issue . Just let it lie already — there are a lot of more glaring issues in the game, e.g. AP damage nerfs, new carriers, and sub shotguns.

Developer Bulletin for Update 12.3
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Crossing my fingers here that these Commanders will have at least enhanced skills. The portrait backrounds are neither blue nor gold though... However the backrounds do not look like haze gray to me, so there is still hope! -
After all the improvements WG has made to BB's AP damage (I'm talking about citadel overpens, nerfed AP pen damage to DDs, and various other less known improvements) the only BBs that are still effective at long range are Slava, Shikishima, and Satsuma. You are a very long way from getting those ships. For now, you made the right choice. This German BB line is very forgiving of player's mistakes. Now you have to learn how to aim and lead, when to use hydro etc. while leveling up your commander to 21 points. Operations would be a perfect place for this exercise.

I am still unable to understand how exactly all the four things mentioned in the original post do relate to the official game setting: Well maybe ducks are a naval thing in some countries, IDK... PS On second thought, Unsinkable Sam used to be a naval veteran of sorts, so #4 is somewhat related to the game setting.

What were your most embarassing moments in WoWs?
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to SirAlric82's topic in General Discussion
I remember being unable to kill a full broadside Montana at around 18 km, playing in Slava. Three or four salvos and due to RNG I did not score even a single citadel, was just getting some laughable amounts of damage per AP salvo, like 7-8K. (I have been playing this game since CBT and it's harder for me to miss at such a distance). All my teammates on that flank were laughing at me and calling me a noob. Someone even reported me for poor playing. That was VERY embarrassing. I rage quit the game right after that battle and did not play WoWS at all for a fortnight or even more. -
You have played well over 15K battles and still lack swear words? Are you playing with the in-battle chat disabled?

Why is Ranked Battles such a total sht-show?
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
I would say this sounds like an overkill. WG could just convert qualifying battles to the 1 vs 1 mode, and I think that alone would prevent most players with not enough skill from entering the next league. There will be NO team to leech on, you know. -
Why is Ranked Battles such a total sht-show?
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
I would feel that I must work on improving my skill and eventually play better if I want to be up there with the best. This would be a challenge for me, and a long-lasting goal in the game. Like earning 100 Krakens used to be :) For now, the only challenge of this sort in WoWS is Clan Battles — but investing that much time into the game in its current state does not look like a sensible plan to me. Well what is the purpose of the Ranked Battles in the overall gameplay taxonomy then? It does not look like a competitive game type to me because there is no competition per se. Without skill-based entry and true skill-based progression — like you know, when a player earns the least XP in a winning battle and the amount of XP they earn is less than N (e.g. 300 XP), this player does NOT get a star — it's just random battles where you don't get uptiered and there are less players on the teams :( -

What we need is less game mechanics that help poor players at the expense of good ones. -

Instead, there are unicum tryhard CV players to stomp the other team :) -

Well maybe there's time to introduce some skill based entry criteria for Ranked Battles? I mean, like having a 50% or more win rate for the ship a player wants to play in? -
Slava. Best BB main guns in the game, period. And she's the one and only BB in the game that can consistently citadel Ushakov from a decent range, due to flat firing arcs. (Satsuma does not BTW, I have both ships and am speaking from my own experience)

T5 and T7 Tech-tree suggestions for ranked battle?
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Lyon works great for me. 16 main guns, decent speed with a speed flag and perk, and passable concealment.
