Bug or feature - killed after win announced
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to hesar1975's topic in General Discussion
I still do not understand what is wrong with remembering something from somewhere as long as there is no official information publicly available. Can you elaborate on your point of view so that we could have common ground for discussion — instead of using sarcasm as the last resort because you actually have nothing to say to prove your point? -
Before subs, I'd mention carrying against all the odds, including all the improvements WG has been adding almost every patch to make gameplay more comfortable for potatoes. Now I just do not play in any PvP mode whatsoever, and am not going to until WG finally stops pretending that shotgunning subs do not break the gameplay experience for everyone else and fixes their feces. I still like big guns go boom, especially when my shells land where I have aimed rather than go elsewhere because RNG.

Oh, you are emloying sarcasm now. How about pointing me to, say, the official source for vertical dispersion values? They are only available from somewhere you know. -

Let's put it like this: I'd rather believe him than whatever official WG source because WG's reps have long lost my trust due to numerous miscommunication incidents. And the worst thing is they never ever learn from their own screwups. Remember the CV slingshots fiasco and the way it was treated? Well, now we all have to enjoy sub shotguns. -

I wish I could point you to the source. It might be that Flamu mentioned it in one of his videos and I took it for granted. I mean, this guy plays this game for a living so he gets to know way more arcane stuff than an ordinary player like me does. (Like for example, he also mentioned in one of his videos that installing a standard range mod (not the US Plotting Room one) also improves the accuracy due to some bug that WG never fixed. I have been playing my Slava with the range mod ever since, and I have observed a meaningful increase to my hit percentage for Slava, so now I install the range mod on most of my ships.) -
Changes to Test Ships - Public Test 12.6 (DB 459)
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to YabbaCoe's topic in Development Blog
This might mean that she will be available for doubloons only. There are multiple premium ships in the game that boast comfortable gameplay and decent battle performance but are locked behind the paywall. My hunch is that Numancia will also have the AP pen bonus when CIs are activated. -

You guys have already made the whole Spanish cruiser line DOA by removing iits unique feature — bonus AP penetration when Combat Instructions are activated — on some hilarious pretext. Whatever further changes you do now will not make these ships appealing or relevant, period. -

My last three SCs were 75K Elite Commander XP and AA signal flags (twice). Lucky me... -

Have they elaborated on the topic of what happens to your battle earnings if your ship gets destroyed after the battle outcome is announced? AFAIR, if your ship gets destroyed during the battle, there is some reduction coefficient applied to whatever you should have earned otherwise. Not sure if this applies to post-battle ship destruction scenarios. -
What ships do you play in Asymmetric Battles other than BBs?
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
Jäger is a lot of fun, though the way bots manage to dodge her 95 kts torps would make Yuro the torpedobeat guy die from envy Stalingrad and Elbing are also quite effective. -

Changes to Asymmetric battles – Update 12.5 (DB 458)
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Makoniel's topic in Development Blog
Please let the way the bots select their targets stay as is. It just might help some cruiser players to finally learn a thing or two about maneuvers and positioning. So the bots are cheating now. Great. When will the bots start calling me names in chat then? Jokes aside, please fix this behavior ASAP. Bots dodging my 72 kts Paolo Emilio torps launched from 3 to 4 km to the target is something that even Yuro the torpedobeat guy won't be able to do. -

Exactly. Bots are still bots, after all. However the level of work put into some facets of that bot AI is really impressive. I was yoloing a BB (NC AFAIR) in my Paolo Emilio, there were no friendly ships around, and her main turrets were actually turning to follow the edge of my moving smoke. Amazing! -

First, o7 to the AT player from the CBT player! There are so few of us still playing the game... Second, WG do understand their own game. The thing is that for WG, economic changes always have a priority over gameplay changes. Regardless of what they communicate to us players, this is the way they operate, period. And I cannot and will not blame WG for that, because WoWS is a F2P game you know. Let's just hope that WG will fix the bot team layout in Asymmetric Battles just as fast as they have fixed player rewards. Oh, and maybe some day WG will fix shotgunning subs. They did eventually fix CV slingshots, so there is still hope. -

Red bonuses I guess? -
Crawls.

Please do fix the team layouts and then make this battle type permanent. I think you guys really nailed it this time. Instead of getting all upset betatesting subs in Random or Ranked Battles, I can finally have comfortable gameplay experience and some manageable challenge in these Asymmetric Battles. Great job! Oh, and new Operations would be nice to have as well :)

Can totally relate to this because I had to deal with three subs on the bot team yesterday. Fortunately, I was playing the best DD in the game — Incomparable :)

6 years on, HE shells are still a Plague!
CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Trollhammeren's topic in General Discussion
Why would I spend 57K RP on a ship whose main guns suck this much? Colbert is inferior in both range and ballistics to Nevsky. Even Smolensk is better than Colbert. -

CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Trollhammeren's topic in General Discussion
I hate the Mino line ballistics. Also, those 152 mm guns have poor penetration capacity. The only CL line that does not make me cringe is the USSR one. Donskoi and Nevsky are both fantastic. -

CTO_KPAKEHOB replied to Trollhammeren's topic in General Discussion
No thanks. I played more than enough of Atlanta in CBT/PBT days, and have long learned how to use AP. For me, there is no challenge in shooting HE, because I consider HE-centric gameplay to be oversimplified and boring. -

Nope. Just as it is the case with every other "RNG" based mechanic, the main purpose of the fire mechanic is to mitigate the skill difference issue.
