@Figment stop manipulating my words for your own pourposes. If you quote me, don't change the meaning of my phrases. Nowhere I wrote that I have good aim, or to be a good player... I'm a bad player, and I don't care to much about stats (except using them like motivation to improve) or people judging them. The only thing I did was showing an example of a player abusing the border, the thread topic... don't know why you keep trying to shame me, because this seems to be your goal. Like I said, regardless of your pourpose, you mixed things... and using only a part of an information for your own goals is called "manipulation" in my dictionary. I'm not saying that your argument is invalid, but it's totally out of context. Also you keep speaking about my aim: please quote me where I wrote to have a good aim, because I'm dumb enough to be incapable to find it. If you can't do it... then you are fabricating things. Mate, are you really so biased to be incapable to read what you wrote? Like you suggested and I confirmed, I fired my turrets individually with various leads for everyone... but in 40-50 seconds (more or less, didn't used a stopwatch) everything happened: I didn't hit him with my 15-18 shots, he killed the Venezia and repaired himself. Like I wrote (did you read it?) my pourpose was to save the Venezia, a shot from the Yoshino would have surely killed him, and with his HP so low he would be the natural first target. Didn't happen because Bourgogne killed him first. Again, I wrote differently than what you understood (start to be tiring). Meaning that I shooted (grammar correction) at Yoshino after Bourgogne killed Venezia. Honestly, with my builds I feel that GK is worse than Gneisenau, only compensated by barrels number... and wowsft.com seems to confirm that. Don't remember, but is meaningless because I didn't hit him. -

To everyone else than @Figment, sorry for the wall of words. If you want to go by punctual analysis, be my guest. I don't feel the need to be right rather than wrong, this is only an opinion excange (for me at least). Like I said... you just confirmed it. Simply put, you extrapolated my words and used them to your benefit. Sorry but I didn't meant them in that way, hence the correction. Yes, because you used a screenshot (then a static image) and a description (that you can't verifiy) to judge a dynamic action of someone you don't know (then you can't predict his behavior), nonenthless you didn't show a hinch of doubt about your deduction. I didn't. Everything is your assumption, a wrong one, because I did exactly that. With lackluster results, must admit. Just to be clear, I define "wiggle" with a "serpent-like" movement. Everything above are your words and, at least in my case, are all wrong. What I wrote is: He never changed side, kept going left, always showing me only his stern. The problem was that he did a continuous variation of sliding speed. Think of it like the classic W-S speed-hack that DDs and CLs do... a different action with the same result. I need to say what I had read and what not, to be fairly judged? All correct I think, problem is that everything is time consuming... and in that particular moment time was a crucial factor. Like I wrote: That's because you don't know what I didn't wrote. I was in a hurry because the Bourgogne was almost dead but kept shoting at Venezia (also low of HP) and at the same time the Yoshino was about to show me his broadside. In hope to make a single hit (Bourgogne was around 2k HP left) I kept using AP... switching to HE would mean don't shot at all and sentence death for my ally. Also usually I don't shot HE with german BBs (low damage). Another problem was my build (that you couldn't know) because a secondary GK has... dispersion problems, let's say. When I saw the Bourgogne repair himself and kill the Venezia, I decided to close the distance to use also my secondaries and wait him to turn a bit. Meanwhile I shoted at Yoshino, made a citadel hit and made him run away (I killed him afterwards). After killing the CA and having acquired around 11k HP the Bourgogne turned to use his front guns on me... and then I could kill him. You think is more clear now? -

First, you are mixing things. I didn't ask anything because I want damage done, I said that we need a way to stop those that exploit the border and brought an example. Second, now you are acting overconfident if not presumptuous, judging my entire game and my skills (or lack of) from a single screenshot. Because you don't contextualize my actions with the situation. Third, like someone else wrote before, seems you didn't read the complete sentence but only the intro an then started to wrote your judgement about others. -

Sorry, when I wrote the previous comment I wasn't perfectly sober... resulting in a sentence not well understandable, could say. Because he kept staying like in the screenshot below, and with small changes of angle he kept changing his sliding speed. Annoyingly, I shot him at least 5 or 6 times without a single hit. At the end I killed him... after he used his heal, killed Venezia and then decided that I was a good target (meanwhile I had decided to not waste the opportunity and focused Yoshino, with "citadelous" results). -

Also fast BBs. Happened to me today, a Bourgogne nose-in to the border and W-S squirming... resulting in differential speed sliding. Hard to find the correct landing for shots. I think he was a habitual of border humping. -

Correct, if aiming at cruisers. Flat bradside you can citadel a BB from 12km away. In my experience, the ugliest situation ever (excluding subs and CVs) is when a fast DD is flanking you. He spot you for others and melt you with HE, while you can't defend yourself nor outrun him. -

Happened to me 2 days ago. Luckily I still have the replay, so I made some screenshots from it. You can judge. First engage 10-13 km target (to reference for my aim): Next engage around 8 km away: Meanwhile he kept to pen my nose and killed me almost without taking damage. Must say that, like others, I noticed it more often in current update than before. Don't know if it can really be a "bug" or it's simply RNG... still weird however. -

@YabbaCoe about the balance changes you refer at in this post... I don't wanna judge them (I'm not in position to do it) but would be possible to know the real reason to every change? Something like "average torpedo damage of XX ship is to high for the tier, then the max damage will be reduced..." Obviously the request is not meant for this specific change, but more generalized to every devblog. -
Just to say, but WG nerfed also italian DDs torps... like, soon our best weapon against cruisers will be ramming them (if we have Hotel-Yankee flag mounted)?

Must say, the new ASW aim suck big time: binocular mode only, without even the zoom, make really difficult to find the target (sub inside the big blue sea). Thinking to do it while enemies shots at you... Whatever the reason to test it (without previous notice) the outcome is horrible.

Maybe Hipper? I read bad things about it, but in Ranked I found it more than effective (charged and sunked an Atlantico in open waters). Not really sure... If memory serve me right, you can find him in a container collection for coal, in the armory. Actually, at least with the T7 Tarigo, I found that a problem. Simply put, the torps are not powerful enough for that. Happened to me that a BB+CA group sailed through my torps without a lot of care, being hit and keepeing to push the flank. Depressing.

Sucks? No, opposite to that. It's good. It's a challenge. It's funny. But now I think there's the need to carry a lot more to win consistently in Newport (even now not the most insured win). But I'm a bad player.

Not PTS, but public server. His nickname was possibly his actual name... stats were pretty normal, maybe a tiny bit under average (maybe around 48%, don't remember exactly) and battle count was around 4000. His manouvers in late game were not push-and-die, but he reversed and smoked to shot then charged in to torp a bot. Something that you do if you know how to play. Really difficult to judge. -
Yep. But the real thing is the speed... others BBs going from T5-T6 to T7-T8 means 10 knots more, meaning less time to sink them, while the bots are more powerful. Will be notably harder than now.

You can try them in PTS now. However even the current scenarios will became hard. Happened to me, to fight a Yoshino while in Raptor Rescue. And Newport was... hellish. Every ships upscaled 2 tiers, Satsuma came.

The pink Leander... don't know why he acted like this. Stats wise, he was an experienced player, so what was his intent to stay in the back (with that ship in an Operation) is beyond me. Unless he was a griefer and that would explain the pink color, but... his actions were more those of someone fearing to take damage. This was the final result... -

That number was an arbitrary decision, but obviously in need of test and balance. However I think that the harsh punishment need to be there, or people will still abuse of border. That said, I also think that current maps from T7-T8 upwards are a bit to small. High tier ships are faster, with larger turning radious and can shot a lot farer than low tier ones, so they are exponentially in need of more space. Would be nice if those maps will be expanded, a lot of free water for maneuvers and kiting... and no more islands. -

It would be problematic if you are kiting near the border... if lose perception of the border and get stuck, you are probably istantaneously dead. I think would be better, instead, that you can pass the border and even navigate outside, but you will take damage. 5% of your total HP every second. The total deactivation of everything except propulsion and rudder it's a good idea.
