    Cherbourg is utter trash

    Must say that I don't like the ship. But from the description seems that you are using it in the wrong way. It's not a brawler, you need to stay around your max concealment range... and from there you can shot from dark and even cit a BB if broadside. Nose in, angled, at 12-15 km from the target. That is what you do. Also it can kite... with the correct waving. If necessary you can run fast and the turns, that start slowly, can be really tight. I think the ship is not bad... but it's desperatly situational.

    Thanks for the answer. If I can ask a bit more specificly... I made those 8 containers only with the activities of KotS XIII, the 3 buyable ones are still in the Armory (didn't want to spend without insurance about the final reward). The missing 8 will be available again with KotS XIV activities only, and others will be present in Armory "for insurance", or I will need to buy all the containers to have the collection completed? I mean, those currently in the Armory will be a necessity? Or the future ones will be enough? Sorry for the chaos...

    Last 2 Ops of the evening... Hermes with Weimar, full division except me. Next was Cherry Blossom... with Aigle. ... at beginning someone (not me) asked what will happen if entering inside the flare circles. Must say, not the most advisable ships... but despite this they can work. However I noted a lot of people on server today, so probably there are a many "unknowing" gamers trying Ops only for the rewards... and they are "not really reliable".

    A little question @Seraphice. I'm currently halfway through the collection (8 out of 16): can I hope to complete it with the KotS XIV containers or do I have to resign myself to not making it?

    About missions...

    I'm curious, when and why was decided that only ships T5+ can complete the missions? Because I think that making them feasible for lower tiers (T3+?) would create a better environment for players...
  9. Today I unlocked the Cleveland. Right on time for the new operations. Shark? I was sure that the symbol was a fox! Yes, I know the name say "shark", but...
  10. It will be a very close competition. But probably WG is mourning the old Alpha subs... and shortly we will have in-game the new super-high-speed german sub (hacked version of historycal Type XVII U-Boot, I think to remember it was in testing).

On a serious note, the problem is that WG don't show to us the difference between direct hits and near-misses with low splash damage... everything is marked with the DC ribbon. If there would be a distinction, like is for shell hits, I think we would have a lot less discussion about unkillable subs.

    Mate, what are you asking is a personal taste/opinion. You can't have an accurate answer, because not everyone use the same build and the same build don't necessary work for everyone. The correct answer is from ColonelPete: try some battles without module, if you can play decently at short range then take the fast reload, otherwise the better choice is the range one.
  13. Sometimes it was like this, but I had read that in WW2 happened occasionally that hundreds of deep charges didn't sunk the sub. So that would be something along the "RNG detonation" mechanic (I think to remember that don't act on subs, but I can be wrong). Real problem is this difference: That specific sub was on surface, so... direct hits, not splash damage.

I have the feeling that asking this was just to burning some time... because that didn't even seemed a request, but only a way to say "It's like this, but there's nothing we can do about it" (I watched only a bit of a replay). I highly doubt that any suggestion will be taken in consideration by developers, even if Just_Cheg was seriously asking. This being said, and considering that WG will not discharge subs, I dare to suggest (I have time to waste ) 3 changes that maybe could reduce a bit our struggle against subs... and CV also. torpedo's homing need to stop at a fixed distance for every ship, not to change depending on target type (this will make harder to hit agile ships, but it's only fair given the speed of sub's torps) like CVs can deploy fighters, ships need a decoy to deploy and negate an area from homing the torps... in said area the homing will be deactivated and the "smart" torps will go straight like "stupid" torps spotting will be done only by surfaced ships, so when the sub is underwater he will see like usual for himself but those infos will be shared only on minimap... if people want to aim then a surfaced ships need to be in line of sight with the target The last point will be applied also to CV's planes, partially solving the spotting problem.
  15. First game of the day. Soon as I was spotted, half of the enemy team concentrated their fire on me and I evaporated. I was the first kill. After the "fantastic" experience I was worried about the day, fearing a lot of struggle, but instead... My very first Kraken ever. However the foresight of struggle was correct, Ranked was awful.
  16. Tonight in Narai my team forced me to make a run from Missouri to Lexington... this, or lose the star. Naturally I killed the CV but the cruiser killed me. But at least I made it... with a ship not great for the task. However I noticed a lot of strange behaviours, more than usual.
  17. Totally not a fan of WG way of sub implementation... but at this point (of no return) I will wait for the italian subs. Maybe at that time, far in the future, I will have found a bit of motivation to play subs. Even if I fear what gimmick will fall on them. Because WG seems to have condemned italian lines to live and die for gimmicks.

  20. Oh yes, you are absolutely right. I have an awful aim, can't connect 1 shell every 10 shots... I will never improve...

  22. Terrific, you sound exactly like an italian politic... walls of words, verbal contortions and plain (biased?) misinterpretations with the intent to create confusion and not admit errors. About what? Because you may be right with your opinions, but those are based on wrong assumptions. Assumptions that you seem don't even try to correct even after there are pointed out. I was truly trying to have a discussion with you, but now I understand that you never wanted it: you searched (and found) someone that will give you the opportunity to rant about your opinions and experiences. Good for you, but I really regret losing my time.
