    Hermes is a Disaster

They do indeed have more hp if the team has a higher tier average. On a full tier VIII player team and an enemy ship like the Yamato, that is a difference of several ten thousand to a team with equal distribution among the three eligible tiers. (No, my clan didn't go and test it. But I noticed in Newport when those two exact scenarios happened within an hour of gameplay.)

    Hermes is a Disaster

Says the one who started off calling people utterly bereft of all logic and basic common sense because they had a different opinion. All the while completely failing to point out why their opinion was wrong and/or different. And kept on doing so, then runs away. Irony. Look it up.

I always heard they exist, but this is the first time I see actual proof.

    Hermes is a Disaster

Interesting accusation, considering that I both discussed your point and mostly agreed with it. Just pointed out it held no relevance to the argument you were trying to make at that point, nothing about it actually refuting bai7200's statement in any kind of way. bai said that a the quality of the player matters more in operations than the ship tier he's taking. You said that a higher tier ship is more capable than a lower tier ship and thus will have a bigger impact. Those two statements do not contradict each other. Yet you claim the first to be false because of the second. Honestly, for someone demanding others to read more thoroughly and to use simple logic, you seem to be really bad at it yourself. And quite arrogant and dickish about it at that. And you saw my example. Are you seriously trying to tell me that guy would have done better in a Z-23 in any way that was relevant for the team to win? No, he wouldn't have. The main issue in the operations are players who pull acts like that. Players that just aren't good or make mistakes? All of that you can play around. But when several of them throw the game like that guy, that's when a scenario becomes unbeatable, no matter what the rest of you do. Out of all the losses I have had in any of the operations, the vast majority happened not because of players not being good. But because of actions like that and/or too many on the team simply ignoring the main mission. You know, the thing they have been told at the start and that is always visible in the top left corner. And that's not a skill question. I'm not calling these players bad because they lack the gaming skills. As a matter of fact, the majority of them do not. I'm calling them bad players because they lack the mindset. Because they are not willing to work towards a win, sometimes even working actively against it with their actions. And for the record, I've played quite a bit of cruisers in Hermes. The trick is a mix of using cover and maneuvering like heck and you'll usually live until endgame. The only time I didn't was when I caught two citadels from the dive bombers while healing up next to Ruan. And I'm merely an average player, so the majority of the player base should be able to pull that off most of the time as well. I will not lie, it is a bit tricky and a dangerous choice. But one that can be very valuable to the team, especially dealing with the DDs.

    Hermes is a Disaster

The irony here is that you are the one completely missing both and bai7200's point, making false arguments yourself. Hence why your comment does not actually refute any of what they said either. The point was that it's not really a problem of the Operations being too hard, but of so many players playing poorly. And that a bad player in a tier VIII ship will be less efficient than a good player in a tier VI. (By the way: From how you describe things happening, the tier VI Aoba player was not a good one.) Of course the good player can do even more if they take a tier VII and better again if they choose a tier VIII. But that was never the point in bai7200's statement, nor was it discussed in any way. The point was, that a good player will be an asset and help you win. While a bad player will be a liability, nudging the team towards a loss. And that the problem with Operations is mostly too many players of the latter sort. Which from playing them myself, I can confirm. Those bad plays that lead to a loss, they usually are not a case of "Well, not everyone will be superunicum." They are cases of "What the flying fork has driven you to do that?" Example: Battle I had this week, Operation Aegis. First few minutes, the player Gaede on the team runs straight towards that gap between the islands where you can first fire through on the enemy. Then pulls sideways in slow speed, getting off his torpedoes and starting to fire his guns. All in the open. Not ever using smoke (which he had ready to go). Nor trying to escape as cruiser after cruiser is turning their guns and starting to fire at him. That is not an Operations issue. That is a player issue.

    Update 0.11.10 - Bug reports

No, you're not. As YabbaCoe correctly stated, you do get the points after re-unlocking and playing the ships tier V-X of the reset line. You do not get any points for the reset itself. Never did.

    Update 0.11.10 - Bug reports

Weird little bug I just encountered tonight: I was moving the Divisions window (where you can see all members of the division and the division chat) around a bit while on the loading screen when it switched to the teamlist. Which lead to not only the cursor still showing the arrows from doing so, that one wasn't new. But when I switched into battle, it stayed that way. Which also meant I could not aim my guns with the cursor. I could only move my view by moving the cursor to the edge of the screen. And could not fire my guns with the mouse button, nor did free view or pressing control do anything. In the end I had to close the game, restart and it was solved. (I think the files down below should be the replay before and after the restart?) As a sidenote, this allowed me to confirm that the little bug asking you to create a WG account after a forced restart of the game, even when you already have one and are playing with it, can still happen. Because I had that. 20221114_223158_PASB012-North-Carolina-1945_s09_LePVE.wowsreplay 20221114_223738_PASB012-North-Carolina-1945_s09_LePVE.wowsreplay

    Hermes is a Disaster

I must say, I have failed Hermes quite a few times (including once tonight). More often than won it, to be honest. And the problem has never really been the planes. It has always been the players. I tend to take the North Carolina into Operations lately as my main choice. And in Hermes, I will pick one side of the Ruan and simply play shield on that side, while firing at anything that is a danger at the moment. And that works perfectly, as long as one of the other BBs does the same on the other side and the rest of the team does not forget that they should be moving with our charge. The loss today came to be, because in the last moments, the BB that had so far taken the other side of the Ruan, as well as the three cruisers on the team all stopped and stayed back to farm on the cruisers in the distance. Even though the CV on the team had already spotted us all the DDs and the Hipper moving to intercept and I had first pinged where they were going to be. Then actually told the ships to move up. Only one of the cruisers did. And while he and I managed to get the DDs to fire all their torpedoes at us instead of Ruan (I even somehow did a magic torpedobeat, not eating a single one), that did kill him and put me out of position to move between the Hipper and Ruan in time. Meanwhile, the BB and the other two cruisers were still sitting back, farming on the distant cruisers. Losing Hermes is pretty much guaranteed to be a player issue. Not a game issue. As it is with, to name other examples, Raptor Rescue and Cherry Blossom. It's a problem of players ignoring the base mission and instead going for "just one more kill!" Oh, by the way: North Carolina (and I guess Alabama and probably Kansas) is basically the cheat code to succeed in Cherry Blossom. Because by maneuvreing right, you can fire at the airfields from outside the kill zone created by the defending ships.

    BUG - Hafen weg

  17. My last game I had a Colorado that I had told in chat that he should focus on the airfields and use HE for them. And that people in general should ignore the AA of the airfields, just fire at the fields themselves. He acknowledged. So of course a bit later I found him using AP and firing on the AA. Of an airfield that was already destroyed. So I said so in chat and that he should fire at the other airfield. And use HE. So of course he kept firing AP and kept firing at the AA. At least it was the one of the other airfield I guess.
  18. I'm not a 100% sure about my account, but I am quite certain that I did not get the original compensation. But I did get the deduction. As said, I am not perfectly certain here. One thing however I am absolutely certain of, since I had mounted it on two of my ships: I did have the Flag of Dunkirk (the one with the coat of arms of the city, not the collection one) in my possession. Which is now gone. Something that apparently happened all around and was mentioned in the already closed thread in this forum. Considering that information, maybe prematurely closed, but that's one for the mods, not me. I would like to have the former checked. And should I remember correctly, my doubloons back. And I definitely would like my flag back.
  19. My main issue I've had with Cherry Blossom (and the reason I tend to lose it as often as I do) is the other players completely forgetting the objective. Which is the airfields. Instead they try to sink as many of the defending ships as possible. A new one pops up? All thoughts of maybe attack the airfields are out the window and they singlemindedly start farming on that one. The whole thing would actually be rather easy if people could just keep the objective in mind. That and North Carolina on Cherry Blossom is basically a cheat code/godmode, since you can leisurely destroy both fields from a safe distance.

    Gratis Dunkerque?

    0.11.8 Update Contest - Lucky 7 Years!

Not sure whether it's 7s in the name/description of combat missions don't count (but your current points value does) or numbers in combat missions don't count at all. If it's the former, this one actually beats my prior entrance by one 7: Edit: Actually just noticed that my former had a 7 in the number of missions as well, which should count I think. So that one is already 7x7. And both with a triple7 for the Unsinkable Sam container as well, so... First one still better and with much earlier time stamp, I guess.

    Armada: Anhalt

    Armada: Anhalt

Considering she's a woman and the standard voice for German ships is a man's, does the captain coming with the Admirality package get a voice-over of her own? Inquiring minds want to know. Edit: And apparently she does not. Pity.
