"Geplänkel" Button wieder zurück im Hafen
LukkaiCH replied to VITAS__'s topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
That's not stock Ohio though, is it. If I go by the wiki, stock range is 7.5km (against 7.3km for the Montie), fire chance is 9% and reload is 3.5 seconds (to Montana's 4s). Still better than the Montana. But not anywhere near as much. Definitely better than Vermont, which sits at 7.3km, 5% and 6 seconds, with two twin turrets less to boot.

How to continue play on Steam platform?
LukkaiCH replied to Jony__Hunter's topic in General Discussion
I seem to remember that there can be a problem with some file still carrying the CIS server somewhere. Which you can adjust manually though. You'd probably want to ask Admiral over in the Steam forums. Or just search them, the problem has come up before, I think. -
I actually like to run around that island of the middle range, just South of spawn at full speed. Since it allows me to catch the first group in a crossfire. Taking a cruiser or a BB with speed, it also is done quickly and does not actually take you out of the fight. And afterwards I'm in a position to cross the rim of the Eastern islands, providing me with a position to crossfire again on the second group and escorts. And from where I can quickly move between the freed escorts and the last attackers if necessary. Also the islands provide me the chance to go into cover for a few moments should I get focused too hard (which in turn means my teammates aren't focused, so that's okay). But then I guess the key words here are "at full speed" and "go around". And that I use it as beginning of quick and usually forward positioning. No hiding of any kind involved.

I know I will! The only question is which one I'm going for first.

That doesn't answer my first, and core, question though: How do you determine the skill of the player for matchmaking? Of course the Monitor doesn't tell the whole story either. Few days ago I div'ed with a guy using it. Battle loaded, he looks at the match up. "Okay, Monitor says we will lose this." And yet we both just shrugged and decided to kick a$$ anyway. And then we did. We lost I think 7 ships to their 12. It's okay to use the Monitor. And often you won't be able to overcome the skill difference between teams. But don't take it too religiously or you will throw matches that you could have won. (Not arguing against the last point, really. Just noting that many people seem to pay far too much attention to the Monitor instead of their own play, becoming self-fulfilling prophecies in the process.)

Cherry Blossom basically needs two things. - Ships that can kill DDs fast enough for the initial ones to not launch twice and at least one regimental post to survive. - At least one BB with enough range to not have to (fully) drive into the killbox at the end (North Carolina is perfect. Massachusetts should do. Would need to check for others.) If those two are fulfilled and you're not saddled with complete imbeciles, you will win Cherry Blossom. That is not to say you can't win without the second, but having it around makes it basically a guaranteed win. Hermes is hard, but absolutely doable. As long as the team members stick to the flurgen mission objective! And that is escorting that BB. So one BB to the left of it, one to the right, shielding it from torpedoes and too much gunfire. Everyone else keeping close enough to support them and sink anything that's coming too close. And in the final push, go in front with a few ships to trigger the DD torpedoes before they target Ruan. Then if necessary ram the DDs out of the way so that it can pass. You do that, you will win. Not guaranteed as with Cherry Blossom, but your chances will be very high.

What is your haul from Santa's Mega / Big / Ordinary Container this festive 2022/2023 season?
LukkaiCH replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I see what you did there. Should have still given you the mission for dubloons then, though. As for me, I had a moment of weakness and bought the sequentials. And my Christmas containers among them earned me: - 7 red bonuses - VII Sims - 12'500 coal from the megas, - 15 camos - 10 blue bonuses - 75 Sierra Bravo signals (actually one of the two I have least one, I'll take it) from the big ones, and finally - 400k credits - 1'500 dubloons - 20k elite captain xp - 3 blue bonuses - a port slot - 50 X-Ray Papa Unaone signals - 25 each of India Delta and Sierra Bravo signals Since I'm not that long in the game, I can actually use the credits, bonuses and elite captain xp. So I'm honestly quite happy with that. Also Sims is nice. -
I think his point was that by answering on the Santa House event in this thread, you did waste time on it.

I'll admit, it's easy to get overconfident in a Malta. Those planes can sure take a beating.
-
How do you determine the skill for the purpose of matchmaking? And do you mean that player levels should be equally distributed among both teams? Or that stronger players should only face stronger players, weaker players only weaker players and all of that?
-
Keep it in port. Use it whenever snowflakes come around. (Or these days just use extra rewards on it.) Gives you a little bit of extra stuff. And takes away one more ship you could get from a drop instead of the ones you're hoping for.

That does nothing the current system doesn't do already except for making things unnecessarily complicated, letting quite a few quilty parties go without a penalty and providing people with an incentive to police their teammates. Not sure if any of that is desirable. (Okay, that was a lie. I am sure. It is not.)

Das Erste sieht aus wie f77onvrplfxq, wobei ich zwischen 7 und v alles andere als sicher bin. Das ist zumindest mal gut zu wissen. -
"Whilst actually physically capping or have just capped?" No, it doesn't. It takes a while of doing absolutely nothing at all or not contributing in any way before the penalty hits you. What do you suggest as a system to punish afk players who leave their team hanging instead? Remember it has to be automated, there is no way that every match will be manually looked at after all. Don't get me wrong. I'm in no way claiming it's ideal. But I currently don't really have a better idea either.
-
Of course that thing wouldn't even manage a full turn on Ocean, if you catch my drift. :D
-
Circling's already enough to avoid the penalty. Or start your engines, then stop them in between chat messages. For all I know even just typing in chat may already be enough to avoid the penalty.
-
Probably runs on Red Bull or something.

I have to say though that there is a difference between not trying to win harder than you need to. And not playing at all for over four minutes. I always do something in such situations, even if I perfectly know I won't reach the last enemy target. At the very least, it keeps me occupied for those few minutes. And is more than enough to not get caught by the automatic system.

"On popular wishes we have now adjusted the surface speed of submarines to be no more than 95% of Kléber's at maximum." XD Sorry, that just popped right up in my mind when reading it.
-
You are not wrong here. But the speed of the ships still usually fits their historic counterparts when put in relation to the others in the game. That is not the case with submarines. As lovelacebeer and Figment rightly stated, there are reasons for that. That does not mean that one has to like them. Fun fact: Yes, there was.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
LukkaiCH replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Don't remind me. I've had battles where one DD went down one flank and all other ships raced to the other. Guess which flank I was on. -
How to stop flying together with missile while in heat of battle
LukkaiCH replied to tonschk's topic in General Discussion
You can change all of that in the settings, by the way. -
Und gewisse Tarnungen erschweren das im genannten Kontext noch einmal zusätzlich. Während andere es erleichtern.
